Karnataka State Open University is one of the premier distance universities in the country established in the year 1996. It is recognized by the University of Distance Education Council (DEC) by New Delhi. The Karnataka State Open University also known as KSOU offers undergraduate, graduate and diploma programs under different specializations that cater to the needs of the students. The university offers 4 programs at the undergraduate level and 5 programs at the postgraduate level.

Karnataka State Open University offers BA, B.Com, B.Ed. in 2 specializations, B.Sc. in IT and B.Lib.I.Sc program under the undergraduate level. The minimum education qualification or eligibility criteria for the program is qualifying 10+2 or HSC or equivalent examination in the relevant stream from a recognized board.

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria must fill the application form online by visiting the official website of the university. Candidates along with this must submit the necessary academic documents and proofs for admission.

The college also offers Lateral entry admission for the second and third semester for undergraduate programs. The basic eligibility criteria for lateral entry admission is qualifying 10+2 in any stream in addition to 6 months/1-year course in IT or 10+2 with a 3 year diploma in IT from a recognized university.

• The cutoff percentage for the program is determined either by the university or the college.
• For SC/ST candidates, there is a 5% relaxation in the minimum required eligibility.

KSOU MA, M.Sc., M.Com. and MBA Admission 2024

Karnataka State Open University offers postgraduate courses as approved by the university grant commission. The university offers postgraduate programs of M.Com, MA and M.Sc. in 11 specializations each. The college also offers MBA program at the master’s level. The eligibility criterion for admission to the PG programs is done on the basis of the scores obtained in the 3-year bachelor degree or equivalent examination of the relevant stream qualified from a recognized university or college.

Karnataka State Open University M.Lib.I.Sc. and L.L.M Admission 2024

Karnataka State Open University also offers M.Lib.I.Sc. and L.L.M in the post-graduation level to all students through distance learning. The basic eligibility for admission to M.Lib.I.Sc. is qualifying B.Lib.I.Sc. from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and more. Whereas, for admission to L.L.M. the candidate must have passed their Graduation or equivalent to law from any recognized university/ college or institution.

The college also offers Lateral entry to M.Sc. in the second and third semester. The basic eligibility for direct admission to 2nd semester is graduation degree with 4 semesters of GNIIT, whereas, for the third semester, the minimum eligibility is graduation and PGDCA /PGDIT from a university or equivalent or DOEACC "A" Level Certificate or B.E.(C.Sc./IT) or GNIIT or PGDCA from CAL-C.

Note: If candidate secure less than 50% marks in Bachelors Degree for them it is neccessary for them to have atleast 3 years of experience at Supervisory/Managerial/Professional level.

KSOU Ph.D. Admission 2024

The Karnataka State Open University also offers a Ph.D. in 10 specializations at the Doctorate level. The basic eligibility criteria for the program is qualifying either M.Phil. or Master’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 55% aggregate and more from a recognized university.

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with the required minimum marks.
• For most courses, SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility.

The college basic admission is based on +2 marks. The minimum level for entry in the college is 50% in +2 to qualify from recognized board. I had scored good marks in +2. And my name was on merit list so I attended my interview and got admitted to the college.

College admission based on students completion in their +2 board exams. I applied to the college based on eligibility criteria. The process of applying is online mode. Ans:Since the data is saved at the end of every stage with the 'Save' button, your data is automatically saved till the previous stage. If you are within a particular stage and the system is interrupted due to power failure or loss of connectivity, then your current stage data will not be saved. Q: What kinds of Credit/Debit cards are accepted for payment of the programme fee? Is there Internet banking facility is also available? Ans: The Visa,Rupay and Master Cards are accepted for making the payment of programme fee. Yes, the payment of fee can also be made through Net Banking.

Q: Payment has been deducted from Credit Card/Debit Card/ my account but I have not received any confirmation. What should I do? Ans: If the payment has been deducted but you did not get acknowledgement for the same, please you can contact techinical helpline, techinical helpline no is in website, before contact helpline make sure your mobileno,email,transaction no.

Q: After Payment of the application fee, what information shall I receive through email/SMS? Ans: You will get the confirmation of payment made by you through SMS.

Q: Where do I have to contact after successful submission of form? Ans: Once the application Form is successfully submitted, your form will be scrutinised by KSOU staff and if it fulfils the eligibility criteria you will receive a confirmation to that effect at your registered Mobile Number. If a deficiency is found in the application, you will receive a communication from KSOU informing you about the discrepancy. After successful processing of your form, the University will provide you further information with regard to confirmation of your admission, allotment of study centre and other details for induction etc. in due course of time.

Q: What is the time frame for getting confirmation of my admission? Ans: The Admission forms submitted through the Online Admission System are scrutinised and confirmed for admission subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria. The forms are processed region wise on a first come first serve basis. Therefore, the time required for processing of forms for different Regional Centres may vary depending on the number of applicants from the respective regions.

Q: If I want to withdraw from the programme after confirmation of my admission, shall I get my fee refunded? Ans: Yes, University has a limited provision for cancellation of Programme and refund of fee as prescribed in the Refund Policy of the University. You may refer to the guidelines pertaining to ‘Refund of Fee’ under the ‘University Rules’ section of the KSOU Common Prospectus. In cases where University denies admission, the programme fee will be refunded after deduction of processing fee, if any. The refund amount will be transferred electronically to the credit/debit/net banking account from where payment was made.
