Application To The Principal To Set up A Canteen

examlabs.com

This school is very old and the only one in the vast area. So many students come here for higher studies from a long distance. Naturally, they need tiffin during tiffin hour. Only the students of classes five to eight are allowed to the midday meal program. Many of the higher class (9-12) do not find food stalls around the school premises. As a result, they go far away from the school to satisfy their hunger. As most of the students belong to poor families, they are not able to spend on food for tiffin. If the school authority opens a canteen in this regard and provides different types of food at a cheap rate, the students will benefit.

Therefore, I request you to look into the matter and set up a canteen on the school campus.

Yours faithfully

How to Write an Application to Principal | Class 10

Application Writing

Applications to the Principal are important letters students write to their school principal. They help students talk to the principal about things like attending events, asking about school problems, applying for scholarships, or wanting to change schools. Writing a good application is a useful skill because it helps students talk to their school leaders properly. Learning how to write these applications, just like writing a letter to the editor , is really important for students in class 10. It helps them communicate well and act professionally, which is good for their future.

Understanding letter writing to the class teacher or letter writing to a friend is also valuable. It helps students express their thoughts clearly and build good relationships.

What is an Application to the Principal?

An application to the principal is a serious letter that students or parents write to the school principal. It’s like asking the principal for something important. This letter can be about getting permission for things, asking for time off from school, talking about school problems, or trying to get a scholarship or move to another school. Writing this letter is a professional way to talk about what you want or need in school.

Letter Writing to Principal Format

Before delving into specific types of applications, it’s essential to comprehend the basic format of a letter to the principal, which is straightforward, unlike the letter of enquiry format , which requires a few extra sections like the address of the sender, address of the recipient, email, attachments, etc. The format generally adheres to the following structure:

  • Sender’s Information: Include your name, class, and roll number.
  • Date: Mention the date of writing the application.
  • Principal’s Information: Add the principal’s name and designation.
  • Subject: Briefly state the purpose of the application.

Administrative Matters and Academic Concerns

In addition to leave requests, transfers, and scholarships, there might arise instances when students need to address administrative matters or academic concerns directly to the principal. This could include issues related to infrastructure, curriculum, faculty, or any other pertinent matter affecting the academic environment. When drafting such applications, it is imperative to maintain a respectful tone and present well-reasoned arguments backed by appropriate evidence or observations.

Permission to Attend Events

Students sometimes need the principal’s permission to join fun school activities like trips, sports, or cultural events. When asking for permission, it’s important to tell the principal all about the event. Explain why it’s important and how it can help students grow and learn.

The skill of drafting effective applications to the principal is a valuable asset that can assist students in navigating various administrative processes and ensuring effective communication within the school environment. By understanding the fundamental structure and maintaining a respectful and coherent tone, students in class 10 can establish a strong foundation for effective communication that will serve them well academically and professionally.

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of concern regarding the school’s cafeteria facilities. As a student at [School Name], I believe that addressing this issue will greatly improve the overall experience for students and contribute to a healthier and more conducive learning environment.

I kindly request that the school administration consider implementing changes to the cafeteria menu. It would be greatly appreciated if the school could introduce a wider range of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole-grain options. Additionally, incorporating more vegetarian and vegan choices would accommodate students with dietary restrictions and preferences. By offering healthier alternatives, we can promote better eating habits among students and foster a positive and nourishing school environment.

Kozikode June 16, 2022

The Principal PPS, Kozikode

Subject: Request for sick leave

Respected Madam

I am Raman, a student at your esteemed institute. I sincerely request that you grant me two weeks’ leave because I am suffering from COVID-19, for which I have been diagnosed positive. As you may be aware, allowing a COVID patient in the public is not adviseable.

It is dangerous for both me and everyone else. In addition, I am constantly weary, have breathing problems, a deadly cough, and a slew of other issues that make it unthinkable for me to attend school. I am aware that I will be missing two weeks of work, but the doctor as advised me to quarantine myself. As a result, I respectfully beg that you grant me two weeks’ leave to stay in quarantine.

Thanking You Yours Faithfully Raman

Q9. You are Samya Malhotra. You want to take maternity leave from your work (school teacher). Write a letter to the principal, asking to take leave from 29 July to 1 March.

Date: 27 July 2022

Subject – Application for Maternity Leave

Sir / Madam I am Samya Malhotra, the chemistry teacher of the senior secondary section and the class teacher of 12-B. I am writing this letter to ask you to grant me maternity leave from 29 July 2023 to 1 March 2024.

My pregnancy is at the 20 week stage. At this stage, I am unable to teach efficiently. Also, continuing teaching at such a stage can damage both me and my child. In addition to the due date, I am also taking a leave for two more weeks for the recovery of my body.

I hope that the leave will be granted with immediate effect. It will be appreciated if the dates mentioned from my side will not change due to approved medical reasons. I have sent you documents from the gynaecologist, approving of the leave dates.

Thanking You Yours Sincerely Samya Malhotra

Q10. You are Samya/ Sameer Kapur. Your health is not up to par for you to continue teaching. Write a letter to the principal, informing him/her that you wish to resign from your position as the physics teacher for the senior secondary students.

Subject – Letter of resignation from teaching profession

Sir / Madam I am Samya/ Sameer Kapur, the physics teacher for the senior secondary section. As you know, I recently took a leave due to poor health. I am afraid that, due to old age and frail health in general, I will have to resign from my position.

I am suffering from osteoarthritis. At first, I was diagnosed to be at stage 1 of the condition. Although my condition improved, it seems that the condition did not stop growing altogether. In fact, it accelerated when I returned to school. It is now at stage 3. It has started affecting my mental health as well. Therefore, it is necessary for me to retire and resign from my teaching occupation.

I have attached a few documents from the doctor, verifying my words. I hope the resignation will be accepted with immediate effect.

Thanking You Yours Sincerely Samya/ Sameer Kapur

Letter to Principal

When you need to write a letter to your school principal, it’s important to follow a specific format. This format is called a formal letter, and it ensures that your letter is clear and organized. In a formal letter, you include important details like the principal’s address, the date, the subject (the reason for your letter), a polite greeting, the main part of your letter where you explain why you’re writing, a polite closing, and your signature. All these parts should be on the left side of your paper.

When you write the letter, be sure to mention the exact dates when you need to take a leave or when you’ll be absent from school. This is important for keeping track of attendance, managing leave requests, and for school records.
