Exclusive: What Indonesia’s education minister learnt from founding Gojek

By Shirley Tay

Interview with Nadiem Makarim, Indonesia’s Minister of Education and Culture and founder of Gojek.

Encourage risk-taking

Makarim hopes to take a page from his startup roots and instill a culture of risk-taking into Indonesia’s education sector. “One of the most idiotic things people can say about the education space is that you have to be careful and not take risks.” If anything, the education system needs to be the most risk-taking and innovative, he emphasises. Teachers and principals should constantly be innovating. “I believe that if more governments acted like entrepreneurs, this world would be in a far better place.”

“If more governments acted like entrepreneurs, this world would be in a far better place.”

Risk-taking has to begin at the top, Makarim says. He believes that leaders have to be willing to take hits on their team’s behalf. He’s also leading the ministry to take an iterative approach to policymaking. Just as tech companies test new products in small batches before rolling them out, Indonesia will trial its school transformation project in stages. It will first target 2,500 schools, before scaling it up to 10,000 the next year, and 50,000 schools by the end of Makarim’s term. Such an experimental way of rolling out policies will help “mitigate risk and resistance”, he says.

Not a career, but a calling

Bridging the digital divide

Flexibility in curriculums, the crucial role of partnerships.

Partnerships with the private sector and international organisations are crucial in transforming Indonesia’s education system, says Makarim. “You're never going to achieve better educational outcomes if you're just working alone as a government.” The education ministry launched a grant programme, Organisasi Penggerak, to invite non-profits in the education sector to submit proposals for teacher training programmes. This creates a “hyper-innovation” system in which effective proposals are scaled, and non-effective ones are culled. It is also partnering local companies and foreign universities to create internship or attachment opportunities for students. “Instead of me trying to transform all universities in Indonesia to become more relevant to the industry, it's much faster for me to make the industry into a mini university.”

CEO recognised for driving the expansion of Indonesia’s “Super App” into new markets as part of an ambitious international expansion plan

December 6  - Nadiem Makarim, founder and chief executive officer of GOJEK, has been selected for the 2018 Bloomberg 50, an annual list of icons and innovators who have changed the global business landscape in measurable ways over the past year.

Mr Makarim is one of only two Southeast Asian business leaders to have made the list. An unranked list, the Bloomberg 50 represents the most influential thought leaders in industries ranging from technology and finance to entertainment and politics, and whose 2018 accomplishments were particularly noteworthy.

According to Bloomberg, Mr Makarim has transformed GOJEK, Indonesia’s Super App, into an exciting regional presence following the announcement of the company’s international expansion plans. In just this year, the Indonesia-based, on-demand multi-service platform technology group expanded to Vietnam and Singapore, with Thailand soon to follow.

Mr Makarim says: “We are deeply honored as a company to be receiving this accolade, never would we have ever guessed that we would be recognised as a global change agent. It is important to state that the engine of innovation in our company is, and always will be, the GOJEK team with their hard work and creativity. Also, we would not be here without our drivers and merchants. We provide the platform, but they are the ones who do all the work that delights our users and creates value for society.”

GOJEK was founded eight years ago as a ride-hailing company, and has transformed into a Super App, providing access to a wide range of services including transportation, payments, food delivery, logistics, and other on-demand services. Today GOJEK partners with over 1 million drivers and around 30,000 service providers throughout the country, while facilitating over 100 million transactions per month. Its food delivery service, GO-FOOD, currently covers more than 300,000 food merchants, 80 percent of which are MSMEs, making it the largest food delivery service in South East Asia.

More people outside of Indonesia are recognising GOJEK as a credible alternative in ride-hailing and other services. After launching ride-hailing and food in Vietnam, and its beta app in Singapore, GOJEK is set to launch in Thailand in the coming weeks.

On GOJEK’s future, Mr Makarim says: “GOJEK is a unique organism, we never bow down to the status quo. We see problems that frustrate us, and we know that the only antidote to this frustration is to do something about it. I hope that years from now, GOJEK will be talked about as the company that proved technology is actually the key enabler in unleashing an economy, in making it leapfrog into the next stage of societal evolution.”

The Bloomberg 50 was released last week. Business leaders that have been included in the list in the past include Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Tesla’s Elon Musk and Martin Lau of Tencent.

Knowing Who Nadiem Makarim Really Is

biography text nadiem makarim

JAKARTA - Nadiem Makarim is the youngest minister in Indonesian history. As Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia for the Forward Indonesia Cabinet for the period 2019-2024, Nadiem Makarim is the minister of education and culture who is the first to abolish the National Examination (UN) system in the world of Indonesian education. The former CEO of Gojek, who put forward the concept of "Independent Learning", relied on competency tests that were no longer represented by the concept of merely memorizing which he considered conservative. But how human resources for future generations are filled by those who are able to understand the context and understand what is being learned.

Nadiem Makarim is the third child of the couple Nono Anwar Makarim and Atika Algadri. As the third child of a combination of Minang and Arabic, Nadiem Makarim was born in Singapore on April 4, 1984. His father came from Pekalongan while his mother was Pasuruan.

Nadiem's father, Nono Anwar Makarim is a well-known lawyer in Indonesia, who was also an activist in his youth. Meanwhile, Nadiem's mother, Atika Algadri is the son of Hamid Algadri, one of Indonesia's independence activists. Nadiem also has a brother who works as a famous film script writer, Rayya Makarim.

Grandfather Nadiem Makarim's involvement was recorded as a pioneering fighter for Indonesian independence who contributed to the Linggarjati negotiations, the Renville negotiations, the Round Table Conference, and one of the members of parliament during the early days of the Republic of Indonesia.

Even though Nadiem Makarim was not born in Indonesia, his sense of nationalism does not mean that he is diminishing. What his parents taught was how the sense of nationalism was realized through Gojek, the first decacorn company from Indonesia that brought the name Nadiem and Indonesia to soar in the international arena. Today, Nadiem Makarim is the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2019-2024.

"I was educated from a young age to come back and contribute to my homeland, even though I spent my whole life abroad. My parents were very nationalist," he said straightforwardly.

Nadiem underwent elementary and junior high school in Indonesia, then moved to Singapore while undergoing high school (SMA). After graduating, he attended Brown University, one of the Ivy League campuses in the United States. Nadiem successfully completed the undergraduate level majoring in International Relations with a Bachelor of Arts (BA). In that era he was also involved in student exchanges at the London School of Economics and Political Science in England.

After focusing on starting his own business through Gojek, Nadiem married Franka Franklin in 2014. This woman who graduated from universities in three countries has a different religious belief than Nadiem. But love is not the same, love knows no difference. The two of them choose to live with their respective beliefs and walk in harmony, until they are blessed with a daughter named Solara Franklin Makarim.

Nadiem Makarim's first career in 2006 was as a management consultant at Mckinsey & Company. One of the multinational level management consulting firms based in the capital city, Jakarta. Feeling the importance of education, he again decided to continue it at Harvard University, England. The university which was once the place where his father had studied as a young man. After he earned his Master of Business of Administration (MBA) degree, Nadiem Makarim returned to Indonesia.

Then he continued his career at Zalora Indonesia co-founder and Managing Editor. After leaving Zalora, Nadiem joined the startup company Kartuku. As a non-cash payment service provider company in Indonesia, which later will be acquired by him as a business unit to strengthen the Gopay line from Gojek. During his role at Kartuku, Nadiem Makarim was the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO).

After feeling sure that his destiny depends on how he will decide in life, Nadiem finally ventured out of working at someone else's company and started to start Gojek in 2011.

"I don't feel comfortable working in other people's companies. I want to control my own destiny," said Nadiem when asked why he founded Gojek.

With Nadiem's belief in peeking at the potential of the world of technology in the future, plus his problem of often using motorcycle taxis when he was in office, Nadiem founded Gojek in 2011. Starting with an unused car garage in Jalan Kerinci, South Jakarta. He will run his business in the next three years until 2014 with his own capital because no investors have yet looked at his business.

Through his difficult experience of finding motorcycle taxi drivers with clear rates, Nadiem finally founded Gojek. An online company that facilitates motorcycle taxi drivers to potential passengers via a smartphone application. In the early days of Gojek, the ordering system still used the call center concept as an intermediary between Gojek drivers and potential customers.

The opportunity started to come in 2014, when Nadiem received an investment fund from the Northstar Group, an investment company from Singapore. Followed by Redmart Limited and Zimplistic Pte Ltd. who also injected funds into Nadiem Makarim's business, Gojek Indonesia.

It was not until the following year in 2015 that Gojek became viral among Indonesians after the application for the Gojek mobile platform was released. Enthusiasm is getting bigger, how can problems between ojek drivers and prospective passengers be resolved through certainty of information in terms of costs and who the driver is. Automatically, the role of Nadiem Makarim has finally lifted the image of an ojek driver who is no longer what it used to be.

The splash of investment again followed the Nadiem business, through the big name Softbank and Google interested in putting money into Gojek Indonesia. Nadiem then expanded its business segmentation which is no longer just a transportation service, it has expanded to delivery services through Go-Send, food delivery services through Go-Pay, and life necessities services through Go-Life. Unfortunately, the last name had to be closed when the Corona pandemic outbreak hit Indonesia.

Gojek is the first decacorn startup in Indonesia with a valuation of more than 10 billion US dollars. Conquering one's own country was followed by expansion to neighboring countries, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand to Vietnam.

What was achieved by Nadiem Makarim with 20 Gojek drivers in 2010, as of 2019 the number has multiplied with 2 million drivers spread throughout Indonesia, not only in the capital. Followed by Gojek application users who reach hundreds of millions and 3 million subscribers every day. The Gojek expansion is targeting 5 Southeast Asian countries with a distribution in 207 city points. No wonder the status of Decacorn is carried by Gojek, the company made by Nadiem Makarim was transformed into a business with a company value or valuation of up to 140 trillion rupiah.

Even though it was accompanied by various large demonstrations related to the issue of the online transportation company system that collided with other conservative fleets, plus the tariff rules between passengers which were deemed insufficient for Gojek drivers, it did not diminish the name Gojek in the community and was still their choice.

Gradually, Nadiem Makarim's role as a businessman began to appear close to palace circles, especially RI-1. Several times Nadiem had the courage to invite the head of state to an official Gojek event. In launching the Gojek expansion to Vietnam under the Go-Viet label, Jokowi was even present immediately accompanied by several assistant ministers. Back in 2015, Nadiem also accompanied Jokowi first when he visited Silicon Valley in the United States in October. Nadiem's reason for accompanying Jokowi and other top startup leaders such as BukaLapak, Tokopedia, is to promote Indonesia's name to global investors in Silicon Valley.

His choice to accept President Jokowi's offer to enter the Indonesia Maju cabinet eventually made Nadiem Makarim have to choose. In October 2019 Nadiem Makarim officially no longer served as CEO of Gojek and chose to focus fully on contributing as Minister of Education and Culture. However, Nadiem Makarim still has a share portion of around 4.81 percent.

"As of today, (I) have absolutely no position or authority, or any power in Gojek," said Nadiem who is also one of the founders of Gojek, Monday (21/10).

As the youngest minister in the history of the cabinet of the Republic of Indonesia government. Nadiem Makarim, who was inaugurated in October 2019, immediately jolted the public at the start of his leadership by eliminating the National Examination (UN) system which tends to be discriminatory in the world of national education. The euphoria of the Gojek drivers, who used to be Nadiem's subordinates, also hope that there will be a law that protects their profession in their daily lives.

Due to the priority focus of President Jokowi's second season which emphasizes the quality of Indonesia's human resources, the young name Nadiem Makarim is considered to bring fresh air, the need for revolutionary change.

Talking about his achievements so far as Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem felt it was unethical to talk about it in the midst of a pandemic situation like this, he said via a video conference on July 3, 2020. However, various polemics were also followed as a result of changes initiated by Nadiem Makarim.

Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Nadiem Anwar Makarim set four main educational policy programs "Free Learning". The program includes the National Standard School Examination (USBN), National Examination (UN), Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), and Zoning New Student Admissions Regulations (PPDB). "The four main educational policy programs will be the direction of learning in the future that focuses on the direction of the President and Vice President in improving the quality of human resources," said the Minister of Education and Culture at the launch of the Four Principles of Education Policy "Free Learning", in Jakarta, Wednesday ( 11/12).

The elimination of the National Examination is considered not to represent how human competence faces the future. It is replaced by a competency assessment, which is no longer just memorized, but understood and understandable by students, so the youngest minister hoped. The ability to measure themselves according to what portions are in the international view.

"We might not be able to improve ourselves, if we don't have a mirror to compare ourselves with other countries." Nadiem Makarim, Minister of Education and Culture

Nono Makarim and Hotman Paris Hutapea. Nadiem's father turned out to have been the boss of the flamboyant lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea. It is known that Hotman Paris had forged knowledge when pioneering the beginning of his career.

Once considered insane. The assumption that comes out of Driver 001, Mulyono. A base motorcycle taxi driver who became Gojek's partner for the first time. Nadiem's belief is very strong and concentrated that one day Gojek was popular and big, making Mulyono think Nadiem was a madman.

Franka Franklin who graduated from three countries. The female figure who is edited by Nadiem Makarim is a university graduate in three countries, namely at Hogeschool Rotterdam, the Netherlands, majoring in International Business and Development, pursuing the fashion marketing field at the Raffles Design Institute Singapore and Northumbria University, England. Similar to Nadiem, Franka initially worked in a foreign country, until when he felt called to contribute back to Indonesia in 2010 as a Strategic Communication Specialist in the Indonesian Teaching social education movement.

Closing of Go-Life. Gojek had to make a bitter decision when he laid off his 430 employees. In addition, Gojek also stopped several services.

Nadiem Makarim and Gojek’s runaway success: What you need to know

ojek’s cofounder Nadiem Makarim has recently resigned from the company to join President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's Indonesia Onward Cabinet as the education and culture minister for the next five years. Makarim rose to fame thanks to the platform’s runaway success in Indonesia and is currently well known as the face of Gojek.

While many people might think that Gojek is the country’s equivalent of other ride-hailing platforms such as Grab and Uber, the platform is much more than a transportation-based app. The platform’s remarkable journey from being a fleet of only 20  ojek  (motorcycle taxi) drivers to one of the biggest super apps in Southeast Asia offers some valuable lessons for the rest of the world.

Since 2013, Indonesia has experienced a rapid growth in the number of sharing platforms such as Gojek, which remains one of the leading on-demand multi-service platforms in the country. According to a recent survey conducted by Southeast Asian market research firm  ecommerceIQ , Gojek is the most popular ride-hailing app and the most-used app in Indonesia. Working under the slogan of “Karya Anak Bangsa” (made by the children of the nation), the homegrown unicorn came in first position with  56 percent , defeating Grab, which is often seen as a second choice for many Indonesian customers despite having the largest reach in the country.

Founded in 2010, Gojek started off as a  call center in Jakarta  that enabled people to order an  ojek  by phone. The initiative was meant to solve the difficulties  ojek  drivers faced finding passengers and for passengers to find available drivers. On top of that, drivers usually charged unreasonably high fares. The value that Gojek initially wanted to offer was to provide efficiency as well as information about the availability of drivers upon the requests of passenger with a standardized pricing mechanism. As a result, Gojek could charge a reasonably low fare compared to conventional  ojek  drivers and attract many customers in return. The ease of finding customers, on the other hand, also attracted many drivers, resulting in a broad network of drivers that served as Gojek’s initial capital before finally launching as a platform. Unlike other ride-hailing players in the market such as Grab and Uber, which operate within a well-established taxi industry, there was no prior major industry for motorbike taxi services.

Later in 2015, the founder, who was also inspired by the success of Uber and Grab, officially launched Gojek as a smartphone application. Unlike the two online transportation platforms, which started off by providing one kind of service, Gojek launched its platform with three sets of services, including motorbike ridesharing, delivery and shopping. In this case, the founder thought that ride-hailing services alone would not generate sufficient network effects for the business to scale up, as it would slump outside rush hours when the  demand is not as high . Establishing such a big network effect, Gojek has undergone rapid and massive growth since it was founded. According to data released by  Crunchbase  in 2019, it has successfully attracted huge amount of funds from 28 investors, including Visa and Mitsubishi Motors. As of July 2019, the platform has raised a total of $3.1 billion in funding over 12 rounds with a market valuation reaching $9.5 billion. With this vast amount of money, Gojek has gradually evolved into a gigantic business network beyond its original range of offerings. The platform currently provides more than 20 services, ranging from transportation to food, lifestyle, entertainment and digital payment. On top of that, the platform has also significantly expanded its regional market in Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, filling the  void left by Uber’s exit .

It does not seem like Gojek’s staggering growth will stop anytime soon. The platform’s market valuation is poised to follow its close rival, Grab, by reaching $10 billion in the near term, marking its way to becoming  Indonesia’s first decacorn startup . Its growing number of services increasingly adds to the value of the platform, as they open up various means that enable users to exchange a wide variety of goods and services. This also signals the platform’s ambition to become a super app that serves as a one-stop platform with multiple services that can help people in addressing their daily needs. Given the platform’s various services, which are deeply embedded in Indonesians’ everyday life, it is not impossible that Gojek could transform into the country’s version of China’s WeChat in the future.

Ongoing controversies and unfinished homework

Despite Gojek’s remarkable growth in the past few years, the platform has been heavily criticized for its alleged unfair treatment of drivers. Recently, hundreds of Gojek drivers rallied and staged a protest in front of the platform’s headquarters in South Jakarta. It was not the first time. As with other transportation network companies, the common problem derived from this kind of sharing platform is the absence of a minimum wage and job security. By using the rhetoric of freedom and flexibility in work, these companies profit off their drivers’ status as independent contractors, leaving them with no certain amount of wages and no access to full-time employment benefits such as insurance and retirement plans.

Read also: The gig economy and skills traps in Indonesia

In the case of Gojek, the platform uses the term "driver-partners" to maintain the impression that the drivers are not employees who work for the company. As a consequence, the company has no legal or contractual duty to control compliance with the existing employment and labor law, resulting in a legal loophole for worker exploitation and other unethical practices. While Gojek has recently launched a new benefits scheme for its driver-partners in Singapore as an attempt to attract new drivers and attain regional growth, little effort has been made in the country where it was first launched, leaving over 2 million registered driver-partners with job uncertainty.

In spite of all the promises of greater economic opportunities, Gojek, as well as other gig economy platforms, also brings unprecedented societal consequences that require policymakers and regulators to keep up with the inevitable challenges of digital change, which is one of Jokowi’s tough pieces of homework for his second term. Nadiem Makarim: A New Hope for Indonesia’s Education World

Exciting bali traveling insights & healthcare.

biography text nadiem makarim

Gojek became a staple in urban (and even rural) living in no time, thanks to its CEO and the man behind the brand, Nadiem Makarim, we are now free from having to walk to taxi pools, watching in fear as the meter goes up and up due to cheeky drivers trying to get more money from our wallets, and being afraid that the driver is going to do something bad thanks to their emergency alert feature.

Born in Singapore on 4 July 1984, Nadiem is the son of Nono Anwar Makarim, an activist and lawyer of Minangkabau-Arabian descent; and Atika Algadri, the daughter of Hamid Algadri. Nadiem’s two sisters are Hana Makarim and Rayya Makarim, who is known as a filmmaker.

He married Franka Franklin and they have two daughters together. An Ivy League alumni, Nadiem attended high school in Jakarta and United World College of Southeast Asia (UWC SEA), Singapore, proceeding to Brown University for a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations. He then did his Master’s Degree at Harvard University.

Nadiem created Gojek in 2010, an online transportation company which has become a decacorn company with valuation over US$10 billion today. First established as some kind of a call centre, offering only courier delivery and two-wheeled ride-hailing services, Gojek has been transforming into a super app, providing more than twenty services all and all, ranging from transportation, food delivery, groceries shopping, massage, house cleaning, and logistics services, all the way to a cashless digital payment platform GoPay.

The idea of Gojek comes from the fact that he often uses a motorcycle taxi, known in Indonesia as Ojek. Combined with the idea of online transport like its successor Über and Grab, he brewed the idea to a very promising business opportunity and developed it into Gojek, founded in 2010.

When he saw that Gojek was very well received (by customers, not so much by conventional taxi drivers, initially,) and eventually received US$1,3 billion funding from investors, in a 2018-round led by Alphabet Inc’s Google, JD.com Inc and Tencent Holdings. Gojek became the first Indonesian Unicorn. By 2019, however, the firm grows even larger and became Indonesia’s first decacorn with a valuation of up to US$10 billion.

It was a stunning and perhaps rather surprising thing when President Joko Widodo appointed Nadiem as the Ministry of Education when he was elected for a second term; a decision that makes more and more sense in the next couple of months after the appointment was made.

Not many people know, but Nadiem, along with Melinda Gates (yes, THE Melinda Gates) and the Minister of Finance of Indonesia, Sri Mulyani, served as one of the commissioners of Pathways for Prosperity for Technology and Inclusive Development, an organization focusing in helping developing countries to adapt with various new digital innovations that change the working culture.  This is very much in line with The World Education Congress which focuses on “Evolving Trends in Education”. With the fast changes in the world, it is necessary to examine modern as well as traditional knowledge system and further explore how education can help develop mental, emotional and physical skills to help facilitate personal excellence as well as psychological and Socio–economic wellbeing, in the challenging times the world faces today. A new and unique in-depth approaches to understanding important academic issues is very much needed in today’s fast-paced business environment.

According to The World Education Congress, new education system needs to influence the evolving culture of education and educational pedagogy, with the objective of deep systemic change. It also needs to build strategies for Higher Education Institutes and provide exposure to latest education tools, technologies and solutions to encourage better learning environtment and experiences. The last sentence is most certainly what Nadiem knows best. With such a giant company in his hands, it is no wonder that he is accustomed to think big, think different, and think quick. In less than two months since President Joko Widodo appointed him the new Minister of Education, Nadiem and his fresh non-bureaucratic eyes have already mustered up four changes to be applied to the Indonesian Education System in the near future.

The first one is the change in format for USBN (Ujian Sekolah Berstandar Nasional – National Standard School Exams.) From the usual exam mode, Nadiem instructed school teachers to transform the boring questions-answers method with a much more personal projects like making a porto-folio, a paper, or even a group assesment. With such freedom in their hands, Nadiem wishes for the teachers to factor in the students’ personality and traits into the final scoring.

The second, and the most exciting one, is the removal of the infamous UN (Ujian Nasional or National Exams.) Although not going to be applied before the next school year (2020-2021), the idea surprisingly came from the FSGI (Federasi Serikat Guru Indonesia-The Federation of Indonesian Teachers Union) who have been saying that UN has brought so much pressure upon not only the teachers but also the students and their parents; the kind of pressure that snatches away the fun in learning and producing students that are good in reciting without understanding what it really means. To make things even easier for everybody, the new format of national exam is planned to be held in the middle classes too, as opposed to the highest level classes we all know these years.

According to Nadiem, instead of the former UN format, 2020-2021 students will face Minimum Competency Assesment (Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum or AKM) and Character Survey (Survey Kompetensi or SK) for a change. With the AKM based on Literacy and Numeracy (not the same with Bahasa and Matematika,) Nadiem hoped that students will be able to apply their literacy and numeracy skills to solve almost any problem in any subject.

According to him, “These materials are the basic competency needed to study any materials on any subjects.” In lieue to the AKM is the SK, which he said is necessary to map the overall education system in the country. The survey will hopefully reveal the well-being levels of students across the nation: whether they are doing okay at home, their living conditions, if they are being bullied, and so forth. This brings tears to our eyes as we sigh in relief upon realizing that public schools will finally be a happier place for our children to learn and study; that the government is finally going to a new direction, that there is finally hope for a change in Indonesia’s conventional education system (one we inherited from the Dutch hundreds of years ago.)

The third change is formulated specifically to reduce the workloads of the teachers; in which the RPP (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran- Teaching Plan) is simplified into one single page; a simple thing that has got teachers feeling grateful already. The final change that Nadiem is going to do is loosening up the Zonation method which has been carried out fo the last few years. Instead of the previous 15%, Nadiem is going to increase the excelled students admission quota to 30%, giving chances for more students to get into the closest schools from their houses, hence reducing the time they have to spend on the way to and back from school and invest them in something else.

For millenial parents that have had enough of the old school teaching method, these changes are just what they want their children to experience. To have fun and enjoy the learning process, to be able to socialize with their friends, and to have an overall better learning environtment to be the best version of themselves. Nadiem Makarim is a new hope, and hopefully from his cool hands, our sons and daughters will no longer have to fake being sick just to avoid going to school. Happy working, Mr. Nadiem, Sir. Our best wishes to you and your office.
