In this paper, we introduced a new domination parameter called secure doubly connected domination number of a graph. Specifically, if $G$ is a connected graph, we denote by $\gs(G)$ the secure doubly connected domination number of $G$. We obtained several properties of the secure doubly connected dominating sets of a graph. In particular, we characterize all graphs $G$ such that $\gs(G) = n$, where $n$ is the order of $G$. Some bounds and exact values of the secure doubly connected domination numbers of some graphs are also determined.

A graph G is 3-domination critical if its domination number γγ is 3 and the addition of any edge decreases γγ by 1. Let G be a 3-domination critical graph with toughness more than one. It was proved that G is Hamilton-connected for the cases α⩽δα⩽δ [Y.J. Chen, F. Tian, B. Wei, Hamilton-connectivity of 3-domination critical graphs with α⩽δα⩽δ, Discrete Math. 271 (2003) 1–12] and α=δ+2α=δ+2 [Y.J. Chen, F. Tian, Y.Q. Zhang, Hamilton-connectivity of 3-domination critical graphs with α=δ+2α=δ+2, European J. Combin. 23 (2002) 777–784]. In this paper, we show G is Hamilton-connected for the case α=δ+1⩾5α=δ+1⩾5.

The study of cycles, particularly Hamiltonian cycles, is very important in many applications. Bondy posited his famous metaconjecture, that every condition sufficient for Hamiltonicity actually guarantees a graph is pancyclic. Pancyclicity is a stronger structural property than Hamiltonicity. An even stronger structural property is for a graph to be cycle extendable. Hendry conjectured that any graph which is Hamiltonian and chordal is cycle extendable. In this dissertation, cycle extendability is investigated and generalized. It is proved that chordal 2-connected K1,3-free graphs are cycle extendable. S-cycle extendability was defined by Beasley and Brown, where S is any set of positive integers. A conjecture is presented that Hamiltonian chordal graphs are {1, 2}-cycle extendable. Dirac’s Theorem is an classic result establishing a minimum degree condition for a graph to be Hamiltonian. Ore’s condition is another early result giving a sufficient condition for Hamiltonicity. A locating-dominating set (LDS) S of a graph G is a dominating set S of G such that for every two vertices u and v in V (G) \ S, N (u) ∩ S = N (v) ∩ S. The locating-domination number γ L (G) is the minimum cardinality of a LDS of G. Further if S is a total dominating set then S is called a locating-total dominating set. In this paper we determine the domination, total domination, locating-domination and locating-total domination numbers for hypertrees.
