Birla Global University MBA Selection Criteria

The MBA programme at Birla School of Management is a two-year curriculum. MBA programmes are available in 2 specialisations. The CAT or XAT or MAT or CMAT or GMAT or BGU entrance exams determine admission to the MBA programme, followed by a Written Ability Test and GD-PI round. MBA costs Rs. 7.16 lakh in total.

• Students for the MBA program must have finished their undergraduate studies with a minimum of a 50 percent aggregate.

Birla Global University is a self-financed private university in Bhubaneswar. What's New in Birla Global University?

The notification for the CAT and XAT exams has been released.

• The last date to apply for the CAT exam is September 13, 2024 . The admit card will be made available from November 5, 2024 , and the exam will take place on the 4th Sunday of November, i.e., November 24, 2024.  Students can visit @iimcat.ac.in and register for the same. The results are expected to release in January of next year.
• The last date to apply for the XAT exam is yet to be released. However, the deadline for the registration as well as the Admit Card will be made available from December, 2024. The Exam will take place on January 5, 2025.  Students can visit the official XAT website for the same.

Birla Global University (BGU)  is a self-financed private University located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It was established in the year 2008.  BGU Bhubaneswar  offers courses at the Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The UG courses offered are BA (Hons), BBA (Hons), BAJMC (Hons), B. Com (Hons), B.Sc (Hons.) and BBA. LLB (Hons). The PG courses are M. Com, MBA, MA in Economics and MAJMC.

• Candidates can apply for the various courses offered by BGU online or by downloading the Birla Global University Application Form.
• The minimum eligibility for UG courses is 10+2 qualifications from a recognized board.
• Admission to the UG courses is done on the basis of a written test and personal interview.
• The minimum eligibility for PG courses is a graduate degree in the relevant field.
• Admission to M.Com, MA, and MAMJC is based on a written test and personal interview.
• MBA admission is done on the basis of a valid CAT /XAT/MAT/CMAT or GMAT score followed by a write-up, GD & PI.
• Selection is also done through the BGU MBA Entrance Test score.
• For Ph.D. admission, a Master’s degree or Professional degree with 55% marks is required.
• Admission to Ph.D. is based on an Entrance Test conducted by BGU.
• Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET are exempted from Ph.D. Entrance Test.

• Admission to BBA. LLB (Hons) program is offered on the basis of a valid score in the CLAT /AILET/XLET/BGU Admission Test.

BGU Bhubaneswar MBA & MBA (Business Analytics) Selection Criteria

Admission will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the National-level Entrance Exam followed by GD & PI. 

Following is the detailed selection criteria for Merit (General) category students:

Note -  Suitable weightages for Work Experience, Academic & Regional Background, and Professional Qualification, etc. are also given.

BGU Odisha also conducts its own entrance test for MBA admission. 

• After the screening of the application, eligible candidates will be informed of the date and venue of the selection process. 
• The selection process consists of a 300-word write-up to evaluate candidates’ writing ability, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview at various centers.

GD & PI will be held at Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Ranchi, Patna, Jamshedpur, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Greater Noida between December to January.

At the PG level, the institute offers the following courses for a duration of two years.

• M.A. Economics

Note -  The duration of all postgraduate programs offered by the University is 2 years except for LLM program, which is offered for 1 year.

BGU Bhubaneswar PG Selection Criteria

Admission to all these PG courses is based on a written test followed by a personal interview.

For LLM Course – The University shall conduct LL.M Entrance Test (LET) for each academic session. Admission shall be made according to merit in the LET subject to the fulfilment of eligibility requirement as determined by the University and availability of seats in LL.M. Course. The students who have passed the CLAT or LSAT examinations shall also be allowed to join the course subject to availability of seats.

BGU Bhubaneswar offers BBA (Hons), BAJMC (Hons), BA (Hons), B.Com (Hons), B.Sc (Hons.), BBA. LLB (Hons) as UG courses. 

BBA is offered with the following three specializations-

Note -  Candidates belonging to SC and ST will get a relaxation of 5%. Candidates appearing in final examinations can also apply.

BGU Bhubaneswar UG Selection Criteria

Admission to all the UG courses (except for BBA LL.B) will be done on the basis of Merit followed by a Written Test and Personal Interview.

Admission to the BBA LL.B program will be done on the basis of- CLAT/AILET/XLET/BGU Admission Test score.

• Certificates along with Mark Sheets of the qualifying Examinations 
• College Leaving Certificate last attended 
• Conduct Certificate 
• University Registration Number 
• 3 passport size and 2 stamp size photographs

Ph.D. is offered under the following areas of disciplines-

At the research level, the university offers a Ph.D. in Management in 6 specializations with an intake of 20 students. The minimum eligibility to apply is a Master’s degree with 55% marks or grade B in the UGC 7-point scale.

BGU Bhubaneswar Ph.D. Selection Criteria

Admission to the program will be based on an Entrance Test conducted by the University centrally. However, candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/Teacher fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil. program through entrance test are exempted from the Ph.D. Entrance Test. 

The selection process will comprise of two stages-

• An Entrance Test shall be conducted with qualifying marks as 50%. 
• The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of Research Methodology and 50% shall be subject-specific. 
• The Entrance Test shall be conducted at the Centre(s) notified in advance by the University. The written test shall be qualifying for the viva-voce.
• An interview/viva-voce is to be organized by the University where the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a duly constituted Subject Research Committee. 
• The final list of candidates selected for admission into the Ph.D. program shall be prepared by the Board. 

The interview/viva-voce will consider the following aspects:

• The candidate possesses the competence for the proposed research; 
• The research work can be suitably undertaken at the Institution.
• The proposed area of research can contribute to new/additional knowledge.

How to Apply for BGU Bhubaneswar?

• Visit the official website of Birla Global University.
• Navigate to the ‘Admissions’ tab on the menu bar and click on the ‘Apply online’ option.
• Choose the desired course and fill the form accordingly and make a fee payment of  INR. 1150/-  online using Net/banking/Debit Card/credit card or offline payment using DD drawn in favor of Birla Global University, payable at Bhubaneswar.
• After the successful submission of the application, it will be processed to verify the eligibility of the candidate and hence after verification candidate will be intimidated about the date and venue of the selection process. 
• Applicant interested to appear for the selection process must carry photocopy/Xerox copy of his/her mark sheet of all last qualifying examinations along with GDPI call letter.
• Alternatively, candidates can download the Birla Global University Application Form from the website and send the duly filled form with the required DD to the following address either by post or in person:

• Scheme 2 :  10% of a fee waiver is offered to the students who have secured a GP of 60% or equivalent in class 10, 12 and Graduation and have secured a minimum of 60 percentile in MAT/CMAT/GBU Entrance test.

My Journey at BGU

• I liked the campus the most. Its just very beautiful and far from busy street noise.
• Next comes the faculties. We have the best facilities over here. They are more of friends than teachers.

Eligibility of the course is the student needs to complete his or her 12th standard with good grades. Will find the application form, application fees, and application dates from the website. Exams are held regularly, their difficulty varies depending on the course.

• The professors were very good and the teaching style was also good.
• There were many Cultural activities and sports activities.

The admission process was through the BET exam which is Birla Entrance Test. We filled up the form given by the admission department of our university and after that, they provide us the test link where we have given the test then it was proceed with PI. The cutoff for the test is 60%. For MBA the eligibility criteria is that the students should have the CAT or BET score.

A Perfect College To Purse Data Science In Odisha

You must have Maths in class 10 and students with math and CS in class 12 are preferred. Min. 60% required in classes 10 and 12th I found the application form on the BGU website itself. There are no reservations. You have to undergo an interview.

The interview was taken through a WhatsApp video call. It was a very easy process to get into this University. No minimum percentage is there as a cut-off anybody can avail at this university.

During my time, Birla Global University requires us to have a minimum of 60% in 12th to secure admission. There was as such no entrance exam and very selected students had to go for PI. For me, it was a very smooth process. I had gotten admission to both Amity Kolkata and SCMS Pune but my hometown location suited me more at that moment so, I decided to stay back.
