The Bocconi Library holds all the dissertations discussed at the University since the foundation, except for those related to bachelor's degree programs. This is a valuable collection that contributes to outlining the history of our University, weaving the thread of national and international history with that of the individual stories of Bocconi graduates. You can explore dissertations in the Collections tab, where you can find:

- Bocconi University Dissertations (Online) , all dissertations discussed at Bocconi University since 1977, divided between Dissertations 1988-2000 and Dissertations 2000- . Within each group you will find two boxes, one for the theses for which the author has authorized consultation ( Authorized Dissertations ), another for those for which consultation has not been authorized ( Unauthorized Dissertations ). In the latter case you will be able to see details about the dissertations (title, author, advisor, year), but not read the content.

- Bocconi University Historical Dissertations , that contains the texts of all the theses discussed at the University from 1906 to 1977. The dissertations are displayed according to a timeline that accompanies significant moments in the history of the University and its community. Historical dissertations are undergoing an important process of restoration and digitization for preservation purposes. This project is currently in progress and has been made possible thanks to the support of generous donors.

How do I search for a dissertation? Use the search bar in each section or scroll through the titles and choose the ones that interest you most. Either way, we suggest you to start with the sign in. You can also search for dissertations in SearchLib by author (student name or supervisor name), title or keywords within the title, but you will only be able to read dissertations for which the author has given permission for consultation. We suggest you to consult the Libguide Consulting Dissertations to best set up your research strategies.

Can I read dissertations in the Library?  Sure! Theses can be consulted in the Library from the dedicated workstations, which are located on the Library ground floor.

What if I am off campus?  If you are a student or Faculty member, you can consult the theses even when you are off campus at any time. Simply sign in and ... enjoy your reading!

Introduction.

  • Finding dissertations on SearchLib

Bocconi Library preserves all dissertations written from the University foundation. Master’s theses from 1977 onwards are available in digital format and can be accessed online from Bocconi graduate and postgraduate students and faculty.

Dissertations are protected by specific copyright regulations. The consultation may be “ authorized ”, which means the author gave consent for other users to read the content, or “ unauthorized ”: in this case, it will be possible to see the full bibliographic information (such as title, author or year of discussion), but it won’t be possible to read the content according to the author’s will.

All dissertations’ bibliographic data are available on SearchLib.

Doctorate in Business Administration

Thought leadership..

The DBA is a 3-year part-time program aimed at business professionals who want to be Thought Leaders in their organizations by applying academic research to concrete managerial problems.

My DBA in 60 seconds - Viktoria Beromelidze

My DBA in 60 seconds - Heather Wade

Duration

Virtual modules - residential modules (structure), dba is member of the european doctoral programmes association in management & business administration (edamba) learn more, scholarships and tuition waivers.

5 TUITION WAIVERS ARE AVAILABLE FOR 2024-2027 DBA EDITION (EXPIRED)

What about taking the time to sit back and reflect on what your experience has taught you so far? And what about leveraging this opportunity to develop new knowledge that is both relevant to managerial practice and rigorous according to academic standards? Our DBA at SDA Bocconi is a program perfectly tailored to these needs, thanks to its vision, its structure, and its collaboration with our internationally renowned faculty.

The DBA is a fascinating program that unfolds at the intersection of academia and the business practice. It provides candidates with a unique platform to engage in dialogue with the academic community, while making a tangible impact on organizations through practice-oriented research. Whilst it deals with a demanding intellectual endeavor that requires dedication and perseverance, it also offers an invaluable opportunity to address business challenges with the scientific rigor of a scholar. There is something truly special about those who decide to pursue a DBA, hence choosing to intellectually challenge their selves anew, despite having already forged excellent professional careers and attained apical positions within organizations .

What They Say About Us

What impressed me most is the academic rigour of the professors, their passion for the area of expertise as well as their availability and willingness to support. And, thanks to DBA, I have made friends for life: the colleagues on the program!

Why did you choose to undertake the SDA Bocconi DBA?

have chosen the SDA Bocconi DBA program for two major reasons, the excellence the school and the format of the program.

Firstly, after my Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering at MIT in 1995, I have pursued my MBA degree at SDA Bocconi in 2000, when I was totally satisfied with the quality of the program and the faculty. Since then, I could follow in the news that the school preserved its quality of education and even increased its position in various rankings among the best business schools in Europe and the world.

Secondly, as I am traveling for my work with an average number of trips around 30 and total days of around 120 per year, respectively, it would be very difficult for me to pursue a full-time DBA or PhD program, especially to physically attend the courses in an uninterrupted way in the first two years. The part-time format of the SDA Bocconi DBA program would allow me to smoothly continue my business activities as well as to pursue my academic studies in parallel. It will be much easier for me to arrange my time schedule for four residential modules of each one week to be present in Milan combined with three virtual modules for the first two years of the DBA program, than to be present at another school to physically attend courses on designated days on every week for two years, even in my hometown Istanbul.

How is this choice satisfying your needs?

The program satisfies both of my needs very well, i.e. (i) the quality of professors and teaching methods as well as the match of my thesis topic with the research area of my advisor are excellent, (ii) the blended format of the program is designed to be flexible enough to be synchronized with my work schedule.

Would you recommend this program? if yes why?

I would certainly recommend the program especially to people who would like to, after completing the program, continue to work and also teach simultaneously on a part-time basis. In this way, they would be able not only to continue to advance their managerial capabilities through rigorous thinking and research, but also give a deeper input to the academic world.
