My Favourite Teacher Essay #1

My Favourite Teacher Essay #1 is as follows

A Favourite teacher is not only a good teacher but also acts as a good guide. Like a friend, our favourite teacher understands us at every point and helps us in all possible ways. Our favourite teacher is the one teacher whose teachings we find most valuable.

My favourite teacher is Neerja Malhotra ma’am. Neerja ma’am teaches us science and is also our class teacher. She is a very helpful person and never scolds any student. She is also a very good teacher. She teaches her subject very well and her way of teaching makes the class interesting. She clears our doubts quickly and effectively by explaining them nicely and patiently to the students who have difficulty understanding the topics.

Neerja ma’am is a young, intelligent and lenient teacher. She never scolds any student, even if they don’t do their homework. She gives special attention to the students who are weak in studies or weak in Science. Unlike other teachers, she doesn’t scold the weak students for not being good in their studies and not being intelligent. Thus, the students enjoy her classes very much. When her class ends and she leaves, I feel sad.

Neerja ma’am has good teaching capabilities. She covers all the topics mentioned in the syllabus and explains them thoroughly. She uses her practical experience to make us understand simple scientific phenomena and experiments. She makes the class such fun and interesting that Science has become the favourite subject of many students and many students have excelled in the subject.

My Favourite Teacher Essay #2

My Favourite Teacher Essay #2 is as follows

My favourite teacher is Vijay Kumar Sir. He teaches us Mathematics and is very good at it. He is a tall, smart and intelligent teacher who really cares for the students. He makes sure that each student understands the topic being taught well. His style of teaching has made learning mathematics fun to such an extent that many students now see Maths as their favourite subject.

The thing I like the most about Vijay Sir is the way he teaches. Since maths involves equations and formulae, he always asks us to practice more and more. He never supports rote learning of mathematics; instead, he explains each question with logic and makes us understand the concept behind it. He also explains the practical uses of many topics and chapters.

Despite his brilliant teaching techniques, he never forces students to study all day. He understands the importance of sports, and thus encourages students to play for at least one hour a day. He even insists on playing video games and mobile games since, according to him, they play an important role in the overall development of a student. He also encourages us to make more friends and interact with each other.

Earlier, I used to hate Mathematics since the teachers were unable to explain the concepts logically. Hence, I had to do rote learning to get satisfactory grades. Since the day Vijay Sir started teaching us Maths, not only has my interest in the subject increased, but I have also started obtaining good marks in my tests. Moreover, he has encouraged us to participate in various quiz contests and intra-school competitions as well as Math Olympiads in which many of his students have excelled.

Vijay Sir has made studying maths fun. He is liked by most of the students in school. He is also a kind person who never discriminates against students who are weak in their studies. He is loved by many, and there are many more students who think like me and consider him their favourite teacher.

My Favourite Teacher Essay #3

My Favourite Teacher Essay #3 is as follows

A good teacher is one who builds the future of his students and guides them in their crucial turning points of their life. But if a teacher has such qualities and establishes a personal connection with a student, he/she becomes the favourite teacher of the student. The teacher who has done such wonders in my life is Ms Suchita Dalal ma’am. She teaches History and is also our class teacher.

Suchita ma’am stands out from all the rest of the teachers at my school. Though all the teachers are good and knowledgeable teachers and teach their respective subjects well, Suchita ma’am is the only teacher who establishes a personal connection with the students. She understands the problems faced by any student on a personal level, whether they are related to studies or not.

Suchita ma’am has a unique way of teaching History unmatched by others. In contrast with other history teachers who merely read out the dates and facts, she explains each event in history with interactive maps. She makes her students imagine the time and the event in such a way that rote learning of dates, facts and names is hardly required.

Suchita ma’am is not formal most of the time. She personally goes to the student if she/he is facing any problem. She even talks to the parents of a student if she thinks that their ward needs special attention. She is a lenient and soft-spoken teacher who never scolds her students. All these qualities make her my favourite teacher and the best teacher of History

Target Exam ---

The importance of a good teacher in a student’s life cannot be emphasized enough. In fact, in Indian culture, it is believed that a teacher or a ‘guru’ holds a higher position than God himself. Every successful person can trace back their success to the valuable lessons of a great teacher. It is rightly said that a teacher is just like a potter who shapes and moulds the pupil’s mind into enlightened vessels of knowledge.

My Favorite Teacher I am lucky enough to have had one such great teacher in my life. I attended a reputable school in my town. My school was one of the best in town and boasted of an excellent faculty, with every teacher being extremely hard-working and dedicated towards their job. But I’m especially partial to my mathematics teacher, Upadhyay sir. I always had a dislike for maths as a subject because I was unable to grasp its difficult concepts and confusing equations, but in the starting of the session, we were assigned a new maths teacher named Mr. Amrendra Upadhyay. In his very first class, he impressed everyone with his happy manners and efficient teaching techniques. He introduced the subject of mathematics not in the usual bookish way, but rather as a life skill that can be easily practiced and improved on. Ever since then, math has become one of my absolute favourite subjects in school and I look forward to attending the maths period.

His Teaching

Upadhyay Sir was not just a teacher of the subject but he also believed in teaching us the ways of the world. He set an excellent example for us, students, by having a very well-developed disposition. He was an extremely punctual man and valued time greatly. Upadhyay sir was never late to school. Every morning, he reached the school fifteen minutes before the morning bell and organized his work desk. He was a disciplinarian at heart and that is why he was very well groomed on the school premises. He always abided by the dress code and expected the students to do the same. After every morning assembly, he would personally check all students for any deviation from the uniform code. If he would find anyone who was not properly dressed, he would give them a chance to explain themselves. Although he never resolved to physical punishment, he was quite stern when it came to discipline and rule-breaking behaviour. He wanted to prepare the students for a better future and that is why he gave impetus to the valuable lessons of punctuality, sanitation, and discipline.

His Traits Upadhyay sir was a very honest and hard-working man. He always had the best of his pupils on his mind and always supported us in all our endeavours. Upadhyay sir constantly motivated us to spend ample time in hobbies and extracurricular activities because he believed in all round development of the students. He did not differentiate between the gifted and the weak students. He never made someone feel inferior because of the marks on their report card.

One time, a close friend of mine named Rahul failed his maths exam and was very disheartened about it. Upadhyay sir was considerate enough to talk to Rahul and his parents and made them understand that even if Rahul lacked a little in academics, he was extremely gifted in sports. Not only this, Upadhyay sir also tutored Rahul after school hours for a month, and Rahul improved exponentially in his academics as well. It was his kind and helpful nature that made him so popular among his students.

While we loved to attend the math class, Upadhyay sir believed that ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. So every once in a while, he would take us to the school playground during the math period. On some days he would join us for a cricket match, and on others, he would help us in picking trash from the school ground. He was constantly reminding us to be kind towards our planet and opt for eco-friendly products and practices. He also took my entire class to the orphanage once, to distribute essentials with the needy children. He balanced the art of teaching and entertaining the class very easily, given his zesty narration of anecdotes and sense of humor.

I look up to Upadhyay sir as a mentor, a guide, and a father figure. I try to follow his teachings of kindness and patience. It is a very great ambition of mine to be like him when I grow up and I’m very sure that I will carry his valuable lessons with me, long after I leave school. I’m extremely blessed to have had him as my teacher.

A teacher is one who instills in the learner an inspiration to learn and to be good. With this message, I want to start an essay on my favorite Teacher. I am a student of XII class in a  private school which is a well-known school in the city. It is a reputed school with over 1,700 students. There are about 40 teachers in our school. Among all the teachers who taught us Mr. Anurag is my favorite teacher. He taught us history.

my favourite teacher

Personality of My Teacher

Mr. Anurag is about 34 years of age, tall, smart and has a tough look. He also knows karate. He believes in high thinking and simple living and thus, always wears simple clothes and looks so sober. His manners are pleasing and liked by all. He is also an experienced English teacher.

He has masters or postgraduate degrees both in History and English. Also, he is very soft-spoken and yet strict in discipline. The best part of him is that he doesn’t believe in physical punishment. I have never seen him giving any kind of punishment to anyone. Rather disciplined is maintained nicely in his class. He has some positive influence on us.

He has perfect command over History and English. His knowledge of Indian history and English literature is very good. His pronunciation is perfect, accurate and very clear. I feel fortunate to be his student and so other students also feel the same. He looks upon us as his own sons and takes a lot of interest in solving our school and personal problems.

He is also the principal advisor of our school drama club and also prepares students for English debate and elocution contests. Under his guidance, many students have won a number of prizes and trophies in such competitions. We have become 3 times consecutive champions in debate under his guidance. He is an asset to the school and student community.

Why is He My Favorite Teacher?

His voice makes it an excellent experience to have history lessons from him. It feels that we are in that era of history. It’s like watching a video while listening to him. He has also traveled at a lot of historic places and makes good use of them as an example to make teaching and learning effective and memorable.

His talks are interesting, educative and full of literary references. He is serious and sober and yet he is a man with a great sense of humor. Even some teachers feel envious of him and his popularity among students.

Once, we went to visit the Nizam palace and Qutub shahi tombs in Hyderabad. We were surprised to know his vast and authentic knowledge about the palace and tombs. He explained so many things about the palace and the generations in detail. The visit became so memorable only with Complete knowledge of the place because of him. His vast general knowledge shows his deep interest and devotion to books. Reading is his only hobby.

Qualities of My Teacher

He often tells us that honesty and a heart-to-heart talk is the best way to strengthen a relationship. Sometimes I fail to hand in my homework on time, but he is happy when I tell him the truth – in other words, I have to be honest with him. He doesn’t set too many rules and allows students to think for themselves. He is a very good person and teacher and that’s why he is my best teacher .

History comes alive in his class. When he takes classes there is absolute silence in class and everyone focusses on the topic that he discusses. He has the capability to draw out attention to the subject and also to sustain it.

Also, he shows us various historical videos and pictures from the internet in the class and describes them thus making it much easier for us to understand what he teaches. He does not just read from the book but gives us a concrete picture of everything, so that we see them before us.

I am sure that, even after some years when I leave this school I will take his portrait fitted into the depths of my mind and heart. His picture is so deeply entrenched in my heart and head that, I think no matter, where I go, I will never forget his idealism and  I will never get another like him to see and meet.

All teachers took an active part in the celebration. Preparation for the function was made on a large scale. The function began with “Guru Vandana”. The student of the school controlled the classes.

The honorable chief guest spoke about the importance of the ‘Teachers Day’. Then the principal thanked the teachers for the co-operation and praised the student for the active role for the participating in the function. At 5 p.m. the function came to an end. We returned back home in the evening with a smile on our face.

Essay on My favourite Teacher for Class 3-9 | Essay on my favourite teacher

I still remember the day, when soon after being admitted to a school, I met a short and fair man in my class. They said he was our new class teachers. Mr Mahesh Chandra has been my class teacher since then.

He teaches mathematics. Our school is known for its good teachers, and Mr. Mahesh Chandra, I think, is the best of them. Mr Mahesh Chandra’s strong point is that he always makes his subject interesting.

While the student of other classes complains that Mathematics is very dull subject, we, the student of class X, find it most interesting.

Though Mr Chandra is short, he looks smart. There is a glow in his eyes that makes his personality impressive. His short hair-cut and his white clothes and ever-smiling face reminds us of the days of ‘Gurus’.

He may not be very handsome, yet he is very impressive. There is a magical quality in his voice which expresses his inner goodness.

Outside the classroom, Mr Mahesh Chandra is our friend. In free period, when student sit on the lawn or gossip in some corner, Mr Chandra is always among them. He goes to them and talks to them. He has known the personal life of every student.

Whenever somebody is in difficulty, Mr. Chandra is the first to extend his helping hand. The moment he knows that a particular student is unable to pay his fee because of poor economic condition, he quietly pays for him.

To me, Mr Chandra is the real ‘Guru’. His love for his students, his knowledge of the subject and his helpful attitude, all these make him lovable. He is dear to every student.

Essay on my Favourite Teacher in 500 Words

Ambika Singh Ma’am is my favourite teacher who taught me History in school. She has been a teacher for the past two decades & has done a Masters in History. She hails from Uttarakhand. Apart from teaching, she is a fitness freak, animal lover & loves baking. Her humble, kind & polite nature is what makes her & her way of teaching more interesting. She loves all her students & is not the one who believes that punishing students is the right way to handle things. She focuses more on understanding the student on a personal level at first & then with time builds a rapport with them so that students feel free to share their concerns & doubts with her. She always deals with her students in a kind & compassionate manner.

She always prefers to be frank & honest with her students & expects the same from them. In her eyes, all students are equal. She never passes rude or funny comments on any student. She always remains calm & is ready to explain things no matter how many times a student asks. She is focused on making students learn the concepts with clarity & right strategy.

One of my most favourite qualities of Ambika Ma’am is that she keeps track of every student in her class; how they are performing or the things they are good at. She constantly keeps an eye out for everyone in the class & helps them to improve themselves She is one of the best teachers in our school & in my life that I have come across, till date. Ambika Ma’am is especially known for not showing any amount of favouritism towards any student. She treats all students equally & loves them with all her heart.

All the students who are & have been her student really admire & respect her a lot. She is very warm & a noble soul. She knows how to draw students’ attention in class. She regularly checks up on her student’s progress & their development.

The assignments she designs for her students are more research-oriented rather than just letting students answer questions straight from the book & memorise as she believes that one should be open to learning new things & not just stick to the prescribed syllabus always. By actually going through a rational & nuanced approach towards studies & extra-curricular activities, we gain a greater amount of knowledge & this way, we tend to remember things for a longer time & handle situations quite well.

In case if any student of her fails to do the assignment or performs poorly in an exam, she is not the one to scold or give them a harsh punishment. These are the things sets her apart from the other teachers & that is what makes her an approachable person. She is one of the most empathetic, righteous & down to earth person I have come across.

She focuses more on understanding the student on a personal level at first & then with time builds a rapport with them so that students feel free to share their concerns & doubts with her. She always deals with her students in a kind & compassionate manner. I am still in touch with her & she always manages to lift my spirit whenever I feel low. She is one of the people I seek help from in times of need & she’s always there to hear you out. She’s always available for all her students. I feel that a good teacher is one who is understanding, caring & patient. The support & guidance they provide shapes up a student’s life & approach towards a subject or life in general. How a teacher has an ability to handle or deal with things, the approach they use & the knowledge they possess that makes them a good teacher. The role the teacher plays in our life is immense, how our bond with them is over the years, & how they may inspire us. A teacher is one of the role-models students usually look upto. The back-to-school season always reminds me why I love homeschooling my kids so much

  • Whenever back-to-school season rolls around, I'm glad I don't have to deal with it much anymore.
  • I've been homeschooling my kids for years, and I don't have to worry about all those to-do lists.
  • However, I'm still grateful for the time my kids spent in public school.

Insider Today

I don't mean to brag, but recently, while listening to parents talk about their never-ending back-to-school to-do lists, I turned to my husband and said, "I am so glad we don't have to worry about any of that."

I've been homeschooling my two kids for the last several years. While they both started out attending public school, the stress of putting two kids through the hoops of our school system was exhausting and anxiety-inducing.

Each year, as my friends complain about registration snafus or the amount of paperwork they have to fill out before their kids' first day of school, I'm reminded of lots of reasons homeschooling was the best choice for my family.

I don't feel pressure to keep up with the Pinterest moms

My kids started their school careers at age 2 in a private preschool . From there, they attended public school until my son completed sixth grade and my daughter finished fourth. Between the two of them, I went through 18 hyper-organized school years that included things like planning the perfect first-day-of-school outfit and printing the cutest signs for them to hold for back-to-school photos.

It was exhausting, and while some overachieving part of me still tried to commemorate the start of each new school year when we started homeschooling in 2020, I quickly dropped the mentality that everything needed to be documented for social media. These days, the first day of school happens uneventfully, usually with schoolwork completed in their pajamas and always without fanfare and photo shoots.

We can learn on our own schedule

Since we started homeschooling, I've found a curriculum that works best for my kids and let go of the need to accomplish every single thing daily. My kids are 14 and 16 now, starting their freshman and junior years of high school, and it is freeing to allow each of them to learn in their own way.

Related stories

Unbound by state-mandated class loads and tons of homework, we check off the necessary boxes for them to graduate, but we also don't sweat the small stuff. With a set of goals to complete each year before we meet with our homeschool evaluator — a credentialed teacher who reports back to our county board of education that we did everything required of us — we move at a more leisurely pace through the school year.

I really don't miss all the permission slips and paperwork

When I think back to before we started homeschooling, I am filled with anxiety at recalling the stacks of paperwork and long lists of rules to learn from the school , each teacher, and every extracurricular activity. I could barely keep up each year, and the responsibilities only grew as my kids got older.

Now, I only report to myself (and, once a year, the state of Florida), and I love how back-to-school season approaches without emails from teachers, forms from the administration, and long lists of supplies to purchase. Homeschooling allows me to be my own boss, and I never feel overwhelmed by all the back-to-school to-do list items.

My kids have year-round friends without all the social pressure

As this year's back-to-school season looms, I've heard mom friends complain about their kids not getting into classes with their preferred social circle. My kids' friends post things on social media about how they dread the school year because they didn't get the electives they hoped for or have an assigned lunch period where they'll know no one. There's a lot of pressure on kids and parents to engineer a school year to give them the best chance to have the perfect social standing in the school hierarchy .

Since starting to homeschool five years ago, my kids have found great groups of friends who are also homeschooled through community groups and theater programs. There isn't the same pressure among the homeschool set to establish a "cool kids" friend group. I'm grateful my kids have a year-round group of friends who are also homeschooled and that it doesn't change based on what their class schedule or extracurricular load looks like.

However, I'm still grateful for my kids' public school days

Because of my introverted personality type and anxiety diagnosis, the public school grind took a lot out of me as a parent. My kids have inherited some of these traits, and I see them thriving in the relaxed environment homeschooling provides.

Still, I often talk to friends of younger kids considering homeschooling and tell them I don't think I could have been a homeschool mom when my kids were younger. Preschoolers are exhausting, and early elementary-aged kids need structure. I doubt we'd have had as much success with homeschooling had my kids not been 10 and 12 when we started.

Though I found the back-to-school grind stressful as a young mom, I also relied on public school to teach my kids independence in their early years. I'm grateful we put in some years of organized schooling, and I wouldn't change it, even though things like shopping for school supplies and filling out endless paperwork filled me with dread each year.

Homeschooling has given my family so much

Each year, as I plan out our homeschool curriculum , I ask both of my kids if they want to keep homeschooling or return to public school. What we're doing works great for me, but it'd be selfish to keep them from an experience they wanted to have just to keep my anxiety levels lower. So far, my kids have said they love homeschooling and the opportunities it's provided them, so we press on with in-home education.

There's a misconception that homeschooled kids miss out on things like after-school activities and rites of passage like prom. That's simply not true. Within our homeschool community, my kids have attended special dances, acted in musicals, taken art classes, and tried their hand at sports. Other than paperwork and stress, I don't feel we've lost much by homeschooling.

What we've gained by homeschooling, however, has been invaluable to my family. Because we homeschool, we have more time to travel together as a family, and my kids have the unique opportunity to get laser-focused on things they're passionate about while putting aside non-required school subjects they aren't keen on. Our lives are more stress-free as a homeschool family, and I feel closer to my kids after spending so much time with them over the last few years.
