  9. The Green Knight review: a wonderfully unsettling cinematic reimagining

The hero of The Green Knight, played brilliantly by Dev Patel, is flawed and less than honorable. The film is a deliberately unromantic exploration of the world of King Arthur and his court.

  14. Review: In 'The Green Knight,' an enchanting Arthurian dream

He's green, answers Dev Patel's Sir Gawain, because it's the shade of rot. The Green Knight, as seen in Lowery's enchanting Arthurian dream, is an imposing tree of a man, with a wispy beard of twigs and a wooden mane whose movements rustle with the sound of bended, creaking branches. (He's played by a much-costumed Ralph Ineson.)

  16. The Green Knight Movie Review

Our review: Parents say ( 10 ): Kids say ( 8 ): Many movies have been made around the legend of King Arthur and his knights, but none quite like this unusual, entrancing adventure, with its dreamlike touches, stirring movements, and quiet poetry. 19. The Green Knight review: Glorious and a little baffling

In the movie, the lady's temptations of Gawain don't go as long as they do in the poem, but they're more graphically rendered and even more explicitly sexual. Gawain, after all, is green, a ...

  23. Official Discussion

The green knight says this when he spares Gawain, giving him a scar in return for his deciet. BUT. The movie takes a different turn! The poem says "Gawain had a long and interesting journey then arrived at the house." The movie fills in that journey with the thieves, the ghost, the fox, the giantesses.
