  • You cannot edit uploaded audio files in Canva.
  • Present and Record may be unavailable in every country.
  • AI Voice-over apps will have limitations on the number of minutes in the free version.

Method 1: Add Audio Files

Since Canva has limited customization options, you must ensure the audio files are trimmed before uploading. Also, all your files must be appropriately named and uploaded to avoid confusion later.

Step 1: Open the presentation and select the slide where you want to add the voice-over.

Step 2: Click the Uploads section on the left and switch to the Audio tab to reveal all the audio files.

Step 3: Drag and drop the audio at the bottom of the selected slide, and position it appropriately using drag.

Add Audio File Presentation

Repeat the above steps for all the slides. Once everything is in place, tap the Play button to view and hear your voice-overs. If you have missed uploading an audio file, you can manually do it when editing the presentation.

This method comes in handy when you cannot access the Present and Record option, which we have explained next.

Method 2: Present and Record

Canva has a built-in method—Present and Record—for adding voice-overs to already-made presentations. One of the most significant drawbacks is that you need a quiet room and don’t have the option to trim the recorded audio.

Step 1 : Open the presentation and click on the three-dot menu at the extreme right corner.

Step 2 : Select Present and Record from the list of options > Start Recording.

Select Present and Record option

Step 3: It will prompt you to allow access to the camera and microphone. Since you only need to perform a voice-over, skip the camera permission and give access to your microphone. Once done, click on the Start recording button.

Allow access to Microphone, and start recording.

Step 4: Now, record your voice for all the slides. The slides with recorded audio are marked in red. Remember to move along the slides as the presentation asks.

Pause Button to temporarily stop audio recording.

When you need to pause, click on Pause . This way, you can also skip a few slides where you do not want any voice-overs.

Step 5 : Once the recording is complete, click on Done at the top right corner.

Click on done to complete the recording process.

Depending on the length of the audio and the presentation’s content, the download might take time.

Download ands share recording

In addition to the direct download, Canva allows you to copy and share the link to the presentation directly.

Method 3: Using AI

Many voice-over AI apps can connect to Canva and help you convert text to voice using multiple voice profiles. Here, we are using Murf AI.

Step 1: Open Canva, go to Apps , and search for Murf AI .

Step 2: Click on it, sign in using your existing account, or sign up.

Step 3: Once done, it will prompt you to use it in the existing or new design .

Select Presentation for Voiceover

Step 4: In the Canva presentation editor, you will have access to Murif AI on the left , where you can select language , a voice profile , and a text box where you can type the text and choose style , speed , and pitch.

Generate Voiceover for Presentation

Step 5: Select the slide where you want to add the voice-over, click on Generate voiceover , and Add to the design .

Add Voiceover to Canva Design

It’s easy to add voice-over using AI apps, but there are limitations when using a free account. For example, Murf AI limits voice-over time to 12-15 minutes.

Canva is a popular graphic design platform that allows users to create stunning presentations, social media graphics, and other visual content. One feature that many users may not be aware of is the ability to add music to their presentations. Adding music to a Canva presentation can help to create a more engaging and memorable experience for the audience.

To add music to a Canva presentation, there are a few different options available. Users can upload their own audio files or choose from the many royalty-free tracks available through the Canva media library. Once the audio is added, it can be edited to fit the length of the presentation and adjusted to play at the desired volume. With these simple steps, anyone can add music to their Canva presentation and take their visuals to the next level.

Understanding Canva’s Music Library

Canva’s music library is a great resource for adding audio tracks to your presentations. It includes a variety of tracks that you can use to enhance your presentation. Here are a few things you need to know about Canva’s music library:

  • The library is accessible from the Audio tab in the left-hand sidebar of the Canva editor.
  • You can filter search results by vocals, instrumentals, and effects to find the right track faster.
  • You can listen to a track by clicking on its album art, or double-click to see the music file appear above the editor.
  • You can add and layer up to 50 audio tracks to your design.

Canva’s music library offers a wide range of tracks that you can use to add a professional touch to your presentation. Whether you’re looking for upbeat music to energize your audience or calming melodies to set the mood, you’re sure to find something that fits your needs.

One of the great things about Canva’s music library is that it’s easy to use. You can simply drag and drop a track into your design, and it will automatically be added to your presentation. You can also adjust the volume of each track to ensure that it doesn’t overpower your voice or other audio elements in your presentation.

Overall, Canva’s music library is a valuable resource for anyone looking to add audio tracks to their presentations. With its wide range of tracks and easy-to-use interface, it’s a great way to enhance the impact of your presentation and engage your audience.

Adding Music to Your Canva Presentation

Choosing the right music.

Adding music to a Canva presentation can enhance the overall experience for the audience. However, it is important to choose the right music to fit the tone and message of the presentation. When selecting music, consider the following:

  • Genre : Choose a genre that fits the presentation’s theme and message. For example, if the presentation is about a relaxing vacation, consider using calming and soothing music.
  • Length : The length of the music should match the length of the presentation. If the presentation is short, choose a shorter song or loop.
  • Volume : Ensure that the music volume is not too loud or too soft. The music should complement the presentation, not overpower it.
  • License : If using music from a third-party source, ensure that the license allows for use in presentations.

Uploading Your Own Music

Canva allows users to upload their own music to use in presentations. To upload music, follow these steps:

  • Click on the “Uploads” tab in the left-hand sidebar.
  • Select the “Audio” option.
  • Drag and drop the audio file into the upload window.
  • Once the audio file is uploaded, it will appear in the “Uploads” folder.

Once the music is uploaded, it can be added to the presentation by dragging and dropping it onto the desired slide. Users can also edit the music by adjusting the volume or trimming the length.

Overall, adding music to a Canva presentation can be a great way to enhance the audience’s experience. By choosing the right music and uploading your own, users can create presentations that are both informative and entertaining.

Adjusting Music Settings

When adding music to a Canva presentation, it is important to adjust the music settings to ensure that the music fits perfectly with the presentation. This section will cover the different settings that can be adjusted when adding music to a Canva presentation.

Volume Control

One of the most important settings to adjust when adding music to a Canva presentation is the volume. The volume can be adjusted to ensure that the music is not too loud or too soft. To adjust the volume, click on the music track and drag the volume slider to the desired level. It is recommended to adjust the volume to a level that is audible but not overpowering.

Music Length

Another important setting to adjust when adding music to a Canva presentation is the music length. The length of the music should be adjusted to fit the length of the presentation. If the presentation is short, it is recommended to use a short music track. If the presentation is long, a longer music track can be used. To adjust the length of the music, click on the music track and drag the trim handles to the desired length.

The music loop setting can be adjusted to ensure that the music plays continuously throughout the presentation. This is useful for presentations that are longer than the length of the music track. To adjust the music loop setting, click on the music track and select the loop option. This will ensure that the music plays continuously until the end of the presentation.

Overall, adjusting the music settings is an important step when adding music to a Canva presentation. By adjusting the volume, music length, and music loop settings, the music can be tailored to fit perfectly with the presentation.

Previewing and Testing Music

Once you’ve added music to your Canva presentation, it’s important to preview and test it to ensure it sounds the way you intended. Here are a few tips to help you do just that:

First, make sure the music you’ve added is the correct length for your presentation. If it’s too long or too short, it could disrupt the flow of your presentation. To check the length, click on the audio track and look at the timeline at the bottom of the screen.

Next, listen to the music to make sure it fits with the tone and message of your presentation. If it doesn’t, you may need to choose a different track or adjust the volume to make it less distracting.

It’s also a good idea to test the music on different devices to ensure it sounds good across all platforms. Play the presentation on your computer, phone, and tablet to make sure the music sounds clear and isn’t too loud or too quiet.

By previewing and testing your music, you can ensure that it enhances your presentation and doesn’t detract from it.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Music not playing.

If the music you added to your Canva presentation is not playing, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue. First, make sure that the audio file is in a compatible format and that it is not corrupted. If the file is not compatible, you can try converting it to a different format using a free online converter tool.

Next, check the volume settings on your device and within Canva. It’s possible that the volume is turned all the way down or muted. If this is the case, adjust the volume settings and try playing the audio again.

If the issue persists, try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then refresh the page and try playing the audio again. If none of these solutions work, reach out to Canva’s customer support for further assistance.

Music Too Loud or Too Soft

If the music in your Canva presentation is too loud or too soft, there are a few things you can try to adjust the volume. First, check the volume settings on your device and within Canva to make sure they are not set too high or too low.

If the issue persists, try adjusting the volume of the audio file itself using a free online audio editing tool. You can also try adding a volume control widget to your Canva presentation, which will allow viewers to adjust the volume themselves.

If you’re still having trouble, consider using a different audio file with more balanced volume levels. Remember to always test your presentation before sharing it with others to ensure that the audio is at an appropriate volume.

Five Tips for Adding a Good Presentation Voice Over

Ready to nail your audio presentation? Here are five useful tips for adding a voice over to your presentation.

Practice Before Recording

This is a critical step when prepping for your presentation voice over. Start with vocal warm and breathing exercises. Then do the initial takes and record them to identify and fix any issues that could hamper your delivery. These activities help warm your vocal cords, ease you into the right voice and ensure excellent delivery.

Use a Good Microphone

When recording your audio, you want to avoid poor production quality. Otherwise, you risk losing your audience's attention. According to Statista , 33% of people said they’ll abandon a video if it had poor audio quality.

Invest in high-quality microphones that produce balanced audio and clear dialog and eliminate background noise. The good news is that you don’t have to blow your budget on a full studio setup with expensive mics. You can find budget-friendly microphones to help provide professional-grade audio quality.

The best part? With a PowerPoint voice over software like Visme, you’re sure to have top-notch audio quality. The software comes with features that take your audio and voiceover recording to a whole new level.

Find a Good Place to Record

Where you record your presentation voice over can make a big difference in your audio output.

Microphones tend to pick up lots of background noises. So even if you don’t have access to a professional studio, find quiet and ambient environments. Also, opt for spaces with less reverberation and echo.

We get it. No place can be entirely silent, but you’ve got to be ingenious. For example, if you’re at home, you can stay away from the windows. You could even drive to a remote location and record in your car. It’s all about thinking outside of the box.

Sound Confident & Relaxed

Speaking with confidence can be a game-changer when it comes to presentations. It creates a great first vocal impression and ensures your audience pays attention to you.

One way to sound confident is to speak in a relaxed voice and moderate pace. Get rid of the tension by engaging in exercises that relieve stress. Then practice repeatedly to get familiar with your content, transitions and visual aids. Where necessary, infuse a bit of humor to lighten the mood and get you more comfortable.

Take Vocal Breaks In Between Slides

During the presentation with voiceover, you need to pause between slides.

This won't appear odd. Rather these pauses will give you a chance to catch your breath, calm down and organize your thoughts. Pausing also helps speakers avoid filler word like um, uh, er, which can make them sound uncertain.

Another upside of pausing is that it allows the audience to think, reflect and take in everything you’ve said.
