Essay on My Father

List of essays on my father, essay on my father – my role model and my friend (essay 1 – 500 words), essay on my father – for kids and children (essay 2 – 750 words), essay on my father – long essay for school students (essay 3 – 800 words).

Audience: The below given essays are exclusively written for school students (Class 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Standard).

Introduction:

My father is my hero and guide in my life. He is the one I look upon whenever I find myself in trouble. My father has been my guiding force for all my major decisions in life. In fact, I have never regretted adhering to his advice as it has always worked for me. He is a hardworking and passionate person. My father has a love for movies. Whenever he gets time, he just loves to watch an old movie. In fact, at times we just fight as to who gets control of the television. But at heart, we love to tease each other and play as well.

My father does not like to sit idle. At times, on holidays if he finds me and my sister doing nothing and just idling our time, he gives us some task or the other. He is also much organised and keeps all his documents in a properly organised manner.

My Father – My Role Model:

My father is my role model for many reasons. First and foremost I admire his passion for work. That is why he is so respected in his office as well. He is always there to help his colleagues even if it is not his work. In fact, one can always see him spending weekends helping others out. Moreover, my father is a simple man. He does not like expensive things and lives an easy and peaceful life. Also, he never shouts on anyone of us. I wonder if he ever gets angry on anything as he takes everything so calmly and takes his time to decide upon things.

My Father – My Friend:

My father is my friend as well. I can discuss everything with my father, even those that I dare not speak in front of my mother. I know that he shall keep it a secret and give the advice I need. He is the one whom I can rely upon blindly during any hour of need, and I know that he shall be there for me.

Importance of My Father in My Life:

My father plays an important role in the family. He is in fact considered as the head of the family. However, I feel that both father and mother have a distinctive role to play in bringing up their children. While on hand my mother has s soft heart, it is my father who shows courage and strength which his children will later on imbibe as their qualities. He can be firm at times, but be rest assured it is always for the benefit of the children.

Conclusion:

There is no doubt that my father’s role is vital in my life. His presence is vital for maintaining the balance and peace in my family. A father is the one who earns the badge of the stricter parent and whose denial of permission for anything means a lot to the children. I also admire my father and try to imbibe his qualities so that I become like him when I grow up.

My father is a person who takes care of my family and loves each one of us dearly. My father acts as the pillar of support and strength for my family.

My father is the person that I admire the most in my life. I can never forget all the childhood memories that I have with him. It is safe for me to say that my father is largely the reason behind my present joy and happiness. I can say that I am the person who I am today and the person that I am growing to be, is all because of the influence he has had and is having on me. He always makes time to play with me and catch up on all the happenings in my life even after the hard work of the day.

My father is one man who is very unique and different. I always feel lucky anytime I remember that he is my father knowing how he has done the very best for me in life. I always feel grateful that I have the opportunity to be his son and be a part of a wonderful family that has a great father like him. My father has shown himself to be a very peaceful and polite person. He seldom scolds me and he is always easy with me. What he tries to do is that he makes sure that I realise the mistake that I have made in a very polite way and helps me to get better and this has been working like magic for many years now.

My father is the leader and head of our family. He is always there for every member of the family to help us in times when we need his advice and direction in taking decisions. Anytime we have a problem, we take it to him, he tries to help us by sharing some of the problems that he also faced in the past that are quite similar to our problem and how he was able to overcome them. He also shares all of his achievements and drawbacks in life and tells us to learn from them.

My father has his personal online marketing business but he never insists any of his children to pursue a career in that same field so that we can take over after him. He does not even try to attract any of us to his business but he tries to teach how we can discover our own passion and fields of interest in life. He does his best to encourage us in the pursuance of our various dreams. I can boldly say that my dad is a very good dad and this is not as a result of him always helping me and being nice to me but because he shows great strength, knowledge, a good helping and nice nature. He also owns very good human relations skills.

My father’s parents were very poor when he was growing up but with hard work and patience, my father was able to become very rich. He uses this as an example to encourage me to always work hard.

I share all of my happy, sad and bad moments with him and he also does the same. He is always around to share with me all of his life experiences and how I can learn from them. My father also tells me all about his day and every event that occurred during the day. He is doing all his best to ensure that I grow up to become a very successful person that has good character and behaviour.

My father always teaches me ethics, humanity and etiquettes of life that can help me in future. My father is always ready and willing to help the people who are needy around us and he tells us that giving is the most important thing in life. My father also teaches my siblings and me how to be happy, healthy and fit throughout our lives.

My father has shown himself to be very good to all the members of my extended family. If anyone of us is facing a particular problem, my father is usually the first person we go to for advice and help. My father has over the years proven to be a person who has a very kind heart and I can boldly say that he is my best friend and my hero.

About My Father:

Appa was born in Coimbatore, the second son and third child in a family of 11 children. His father, my grandfather was a stern man, a respected civil engineer who worked for the colonial British government.

Appa attended the Rishi Valley School in Yercaud, founded on the learning philosophy of Jiddu Krishnamurthy. There he learned the value of discipline, respect for hard work, honesty, responsibility and constant learning. He studied electrical engineering at Banaras Hindu University and went on to join Voltas Limited’s air conditioning division. He worked there the rest of his life, and was regarded as brilliant and a genius.

My childhood memories of him are as a stern, strict and not very communicative man. He’d crack the most unhumorous Dad jokes and we’d all grimace and laugh dutifully.

He felt a deep and abiding sense of responsibility towards his own family of birth as well as his marital family. The modest salary he always earned would be divided between these two families, and since he was terrible at currying favour or promoting himself, he never rose within the ranks of Voltas and his income remained quite pathetic till he died. This officially made us a lower-middle class family and our childhoods were frugal, thrifty and austere. A little money meant a lot.

Despite these constraints, Appa planned our futures successfully. When his provident funds were released after his retirement, he used the entire amount, augmented by a bank loan, to buy a house in his two sons’ names. For the rest of our lives, we had a roof over our heads.

Why I like my father:

One of the most remarkable things about Appa was the number of things he was interested in. In Calcutta, he would spend hours outside a tailor’s shop watching him make clothes. After several months, he bought himself a Singer sewing machine. From then, all our clothes, including winter school uniforms, were stitched by him.

He taught himself carpentry — and constructed the sofa sets we used for decades.

He learned dry cleaning — and from then, we would go to school smelling of kerosene in winter.

He was an outstanding cook, and loved cooking. When my mother was immobilized with lymphatic TB, he’d cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for the family in the morning before leaving for work.

Best of all, he was a brilliant musician, gifted in playing the vichitra veena. He had his own Carnatic ‘band’ with a flutist and a mridangam player.

Things I Learned from My Father:

I have slowly realised how much of who I am was shaped by who he was. Like him, I never get bored, and remain fascinated by everything in life. I’m constantly active doing something constructive or educational. I am today two years younger than he was when he died but have started learning to play piano, understand search engine optimisation, UX design and painting.

I learned from him that generosity is a state of mind, not a state of wallet. The number of nameless, faceless poor people he had helped was long, as we learned only after he died. Never demeaning his beneficiaries with a handout, he invited them to repay at their time and speed, but made sure that they did, thus restoring their self-respect.

Without ever speaking about it, he has shown me what it means to be a father, and the meaning of selfless living.

A single incident sums up my relationship with my dad. He wanted me to join the IIT and become an engineer. I wanted to be a writer, a profession he disdained as having no future. Headstrong, in 1969, I stepped out of the train in which my family was relocating from Delhi to Bombay just as the whistle blew. I was bent on living my life my way.

My father, deeply upset, cut me off without a paisa, saying I could jolly well support myself if I was so confident about writing. And so I did, earning enough through writing for the evening papers to pay my rent, college fees and food. Six months later, my father, passing through Delhi in December, visited me to check how his strong-headed son was doing, and saw for himself that I was surviving well enough without borrowing or begging. He visibly swelled with pride.

He hugged me, in one action forgiving me but also forgiving himself. He used the 400 rupees he had received as a Christmas bonus to buy me utensils, a mattress, and other basics.

From that day, he would proudly say, “My son followed his heart rather than my head — and see what a fine job he has done.”

Key Points To Remember When Writing An Essay On The Person I Admire The Most For Lower Primary Classes

10 lines on the person i admire the most for kids, paragraph on the person i admire the most for children, short essay on the person i admire the most for kids, long essay on the person i admire the most for children, what will your child learn from the essay on ‘the person i admire the most’.

Having a person whom you admire and consider an inspiration in life is of great importance.  We all need someone who we can look up to, as well as count on for always being there to support you, and help you if needed. When you need guidance, this is the person whom you trust the most. You seek their advice as you regard them highly and look up to them with respect. This is the person whom you admire the most.

Children may feel admiration for their parents, grandparents, teachers or even their best friend. They hold this person close to their heart and value their presence in their lives. Children may be asked to write an essay on ‘The person i admire the most’ in English as an assignment in school. This topic is an emotional one, and kids will be required to write from their hearts. Expressing abstract feelings in words may be challenging for kids at first, but with practice, they can master their writing skills in no time.

Let us guide your child to write a beautiful essay on this topic with some important points and examples.

Before you begin writing an essay on the given topic, keep in mind the following points:

  • Every essay should have a good introductory line and a concluding idea.
  • Think about the topic and jot down the points that come to your mind.
  • Arrange the points in a good sequence and elaborate on them to form meaningful sentences or paragraphs.
  • Try to use a few new words to showcase your vocabulary on the topic, however be sure of the meaning of the word and its correct use in context.
  • When writing about the person you admire, start by introducing the person, how they are related to you, and their unique qualities, and explain why you admire those qualities in them.

Let us begin with the simplest form of essay writing. When kids are newly introduced to essay writing, they can start by forming simple sentences and expressing their ideas in a few lines. Take a look at this example of an essay for classes 1 and 2 in 10 lines.

  • The person I admire the most is my brother Arjun.
  • He is my elder brother and also my best friend.
  • The quality I admire the most about him is that he is very helpful.
  • He always helps me with my studies whenever I have some difficulties understanding a lesson.
  • He also helps my parents with all the work in the house like cleaning, laying out the dining table and going out on his bicycle to buy groceries.
  • When he helps others selflessly, they feel very happy and wish well for him.
  • He is also a very brave and strong boy.
  • He is never scared of anything, and also takes care of me when I am scared of something like barking dogs on the streets or dark rooms.
  • He always says that instead of getting scared, we must face our fears and defeat it.
  • I admire his spirit and wish to be more like him.

As children progress academically, they will learn to write more coherent essays with several ideas connected together to form a small paragraph. For this, children will have to learn to weave individual points together to compose their essay. Check out this example of an essay on ‘The person I admire the most’.

The person I admire the most is my grandfather. He was in the army and has fought bravely to protect our country. Being an army person, the value he respects the most in life is discipline. He always teaches me about good behaviour and courteous manners. He always says, “Manners make a man” and also lives by this moral. Because of his courteousness, he is very well respected by everyone around him. All the family members have the highest regard for him. He is many generations older than me but he has always made me feel like he understands me well. So I go to him every time I need some guidance. One day when I had a fight with my sister, he explained to me that making up after a fight and extending the first hand of friendship can make me a better person. I followed his advice and the fight was immediately resolved. I admire my grandfather’s personality and conviction, and wish that I too become like him with my contribution to society and to the country.

Once your child learns how to weave their ideas into a paragraph, you can take it up a notch by teaching how to write a short essay on the given topic. In this essay for classes 1, 2 and 3, children will be required to make elaborate points and organise them in separate paragraphs with an introduction and conclusion. Take a look at this example to learn how to write a short essay:

I have many friends who are very dear to me. But the one I admire the most is my best friend Jia.

Jia is one of the best players in our school’s basketball team. Her biggest ambition is to play in the Olympics one day. She is an ace shooter and when she has the ball in her hand, there is no chance for it to miss the basket. While being excellent at sports, Jia is also very good in studies. She stands first in all the subjects in the class. Jia always remains an enthusiastic learner in class and her projects and assignments are always the most creative. She is also great at theatre. Last year, Jia took part in an English play had everyone spell-bound with her performance on the stage. She had observed her housekeeper very closely and had noted all her actions before performing the role on stage.

Jia is skilled at every activity. She has learnt this art from her mother. Her mother always taught her to put her heart and soul in everything she does. She often tells me that we should be focused and dedicated in all our pursuits. We cannot achieve much if our minds are diverted. This is the secret of her success.

I admire her for her attitude and all her achievements and wish to be like her.

When children are given an assignment to write an essay for class 3, they must put together all their knowledge, think of unique ideas, use their best vocabulary in the right context and elaborate on their points eloquently. A long essay needs a good introductory paragraph followed by a body with several well-thought out ideas and a good conclusion. Refer to these examples given below:

The Person I Admire Most – My Mother

The person I admire the most in the whole wide world is my mother. She is the most caring person in my life. She is my first, foremost and closest friend and I love her over and above everyone else.

My mother cares for me a lot and dedicated a lot of her time in helping me out throughout the day. She prepares delicious breakfast and some food for me to carry to school. When I come back from school, she talks to me all about my day and checks my homework. When it’s time for exams, she encourages me to study hard and avoid distractions. Sometimes I feel upset when she doesn’t let me watch TV for long hours and insists on studying more, but when I get a successful result, I realise that the entire credit goes to her motivation.

My mother used to work in a bank a few years back, but she left her job due to some dire situations during the pandemic. But she is a very dynamic lady. She soon started her own company that invests in small businesses and helps start-ups rise to success. Entrepreneurs consider her to be their biggest ray of hope and guiding light. Seeing how many people she has helped rise from dreamers to achievers is inspiring.

Even in the family, my mother is everyone’s favourite. She is always available to help everyone because she is an expert at everything. She cooks delicious meals, is great with home accounts and banking work, and has many other talents. She is great at crocheting, so on every special occasion, she gives handmade gifts to her friends and family.

What I love about my mother the most is that I can always depend on her. Whenever I tell her about some difficulty I face, she always guides me to come up with a solution. She encourages me to be independent and handle my own circumstances with her help and guidance whenever required. I can also trust her with anything, knowing that she will always have my back.

My mother is very strict with the discipline she expects us to maintain at home. If we break the rules, she gets upset and we must be ready to correct our mistakes, but all throughout, I know that she loves me and does it for me to learn the best habits.

She inspires me to be a strong, independent and successful woman. I admire all her qualities, especially how to be the best mother ever!

The Person I Admire Most – My Father

The person who I admire the most is my father. He is a dynamic man who has created a successful path for himself and others too. He is the best at everything he does, and yet is a humble and down-to-earth man.

My father is a doctor. Everyday, he works hard to care for all his patients and their health. I have noticed that even on holidays, he is occupied with following up about his patients’ care and ensuring they are getting better. He treats everyone with the best facilities that he can provide to them.

Becoming a doctor is not easy. It takes years of studies and a lot of money to go to medical college. My father’s family did not have enough means for higher education, but he earned a scholarship and created an opportunity for himself. My grandparents too are very proud of his hard work and success, and they always narrate his stories as an example for me to follow.

My father explained to me that despite good hospitals and clinics in the city, many people do not get good healthcare, because they do not have the means. To ensure that everyone gets the right medical attention, my father also runs a small clinic where he does check-ups for poor people at a nominal charge and provides medication at subsidised rates, so that everyone can afford medical care. He donates some of his own money to this cause to make sure that the clinic never has to say no to any patient. This selfless and generous act makes him a highly respected person in the city. I feel very proud that he is my father.

Despite being in a busy profession, my father spends a lot of quality time with me. We have a Sunday ritual of playing a ‘fathers vs children’ football match in our colony. Not only is he a great player himself, he also coaches me and all the other children to prepare for this weekend match. He is the coolest dad ever!

Because of my love and admiration for him, I don’t like to disappoint him in any way. The one thing he gets upset about is if I don’t work hard towards my studies. He always teaches me that studying hard is the biggest duty that children have towards the future of the society. Whether I score high marks or not, he insists that I must always give my 100% while studying and learning.

My father has taught me a lot, through such moral lessons as well as through the way he has led his own life. I admire his personality and wish to become just like him when I grow up.

The Person I Admire Most – My Teacher

A child’s first interaction beyond home is at school. Once children step out of their home and enter into the big world out there, the one person who holds their hands as a guiding force is their teacher.

I too had one such teacher whom I met on my first day at school. It is since that day that I admire my teacher, Geeta Ma’am, the most in the world. When I went to school for the first time, I was very nervous. I felt like crying and wanted to go back home. That is when Geeta Ma’am came up to me and told me, “It is only the brave ones that have the strength to take a step forward.” This thought inspired me and made take the brave step into the classroom which is where my independent journey started.

Geeta Ma’am is a really fun teacher. Whenever she teaches us something new, she makes us observe some examples of it in the real world to make our lessons more relatable. This way, we understand everything perfectly and never forget what we have once learnt. She comes up with many new and creative activities for us to do in school to make us learn better.

She is every students’ favourite teacher because she is never partial. She pays equal attention to every child, and makes sure no one in the class is too shy to ask their doubts. She is very fair and never favours one child over another.

Every teacher wants their students to focus on studies and score well in exams, but Geeta Ma’am believes in a balanced life. She encourages us to participate in many extracurricular activities to bring out our unique talents. Last month, our school announced a poetry writing competition. Geeta Ma’am encouraged me to participate in it, giving me the confidence that I had good writing skills. I never knew that I had this skill, but she recognised my talent and helped me perfect it. It was all due to her encouragement that I participated and won the competition!

Everyday I learn a lot from Geeta Ma’am, not just bookish knowledge but important life lessons too. She is one of my biggest force of motivation, and I admire her and highly respect her. I wish to accomplish something in life and make her proud.

When your child writes an essay about the person they admire the most, they get an opportunity to reflect upon some of the most desirable qualities in a person. They observe the traits of inspiring people and think about how to achieve these traits themselves.

Expressing these ideas on pen and paper is altogether a different ball game. Children will improve their thinking, analytical, writing and communication skills while writing an essay on this topic. They will expand their vocabulary and be able to express themselves more confidently.

Use the above given examples to guide your child how to write an essay on the person they admire the most. The points given here can serve as a foundation for ideas, based on which they can write the essay on their own.

Essay on My Father for Students and Children

500+ words essay on my father.

Essay on My Father: Usually, people talk about a mother’s love and affection, in which a father’s love often gets ignored. A mother’s love is talked about repeatedly everywhere, in movies, in shows and more. Yet, what we fail to acknowledge is the strength of a father which often goes unnoticed. Father’s a blessing which not many people have in their lives. It would also be wrong to say that every father is the ideal hero for their kids because that is not the case. However, I can vouch for my father without any second thoughts when it comes to being an ideal person.

essay on my father

My Father is Different!

As everyone likes to believe that their father is different, so do I. Nonetheless, this conviction is not merely based on the love I have for him, but also because of his personality. My father owns a business and is quite disciplined in all aspects of life. He is the one who taught me to always practice discipline no matter what work I do.

Most importantly, he has a jovial nature and always makes my mother laugh with his silly antics even after 27 years of marriage. I completely adore this silly side of him when he is with his loved ones. He tries his best to fulfill all our wishes but also maintains the strictness when the need arises.

the person i like most my father essay

One of the best things I love about my father is that he has always kept a very safe and open home environment. For instance, my siblings and I can talk about anything with him without the fear of being scolded or judged. This has helped us not to lie, which I have often noticed with my friends.

In addition, my father has an undying love for animals which makes him very sympathetic towards them. He practices his religion devotedly and is very charitable too. I have never seen my father misbehave with his elders in my entire life which makes me want to be like him even more.

My Father is My Source of Inspiration

I can proudly say that it is my father who has been my source of inspiration from day one. In other words, his perspective and personality together have shaped me as a person. Similarly, he has a great impact on the world as well in his own little ways. He devotes his free time in taking care of stray animals which inspires me to do the same.

My father has taught me the meaning of love in the form of a rose he gifts to my mother daily without fail. This consistency and affection encourage all of us to treat them the same way. All my knowledge of sports and cars, I have derived from my father. It is one of the sole reasons why I aspire to be a cricket player in the future.

To sum it up, I believe that my father has it all what it takes to be called a real-life superhero. The way he manages things professionally and personally leaves me mesmerized every time. No matter how tough the times got, I watched my father become tougher. I certainly aspire to become like my father. If I could just inherit ten percent of what he is, I believe my life will be sorted.

The person I like Most Paragraph Essay 1

Introduction.

In this long life, we meet a lot of people. Some people stay forever, and some come for a minimal period. It is estimated that we almost meet 80000 people in our life; out of them, only 14 are those who stay with us forever out of those 14. Only 5 are the people who love us unconditionally. Whenever somebody asks me about who is the person in my life that I like the most, I start thinking about the person who stayed with me whenever I needed someone awake the whole night for me who loved me unconditionally and will continue to do so forever  he is my dad.

The person I like most – My dad

My dad is the person in my life that I like the most. There are a lot of reasons to say why he is the one whom I love the most. He has dedicated his whole life just for the sake of his family. Sometimes he did not buy new clothes so that we can buy new clothes. He sacrifices his dreams so that we may live our dreams. When I am asleep, he is working. He is the gold that I got in my life. Every day when I wake up, the first thing is I thank god for being born as his son, and the second thing I do is pray to him to give me power and blessing so that soon I can make my father free from all these responsibilities. I have a dream that a time will come when we will rest the whole buy himself whatever he wants, and I will work for him.

There were times in life when I was very low for myself regarding my status regarding my studies my future and I used to cry sitting alone at that time there was always a hand on my shoulder, and he was my dad. He’s my only role model and my only inspiration, and I wish to be like him. He was always behind me whenever I need him. He’s my god and my almighty. It doesn’t matter how busy he might be. He never forgets to call me. He makes a phone call to me every day. When I fail at doing things, he is the one who tries his best to help me stand up again and motivates me to work even harder. Without any hesitation, I can share my every problem with him because I know only he can give solution to all my questions. Infect he is the solution to my every problem.

He taught me the importance of hard work and dedication. He taught me to be self-sufficient in life. He has taught me what life is all about. Whenever I go to him with some problem, he just gives me a direction and left me to decide by myself about the solutions.

Dad is the person who sacrifices his dreams for the sake of our desires. My dad is the strength and faith of my family. He is my best friend and my companion for life. I wish that I can come across the life I want, and I may become capable enough to fulfill every dream of my dad. I remember that time when he only used to eat breakfast the whole day. The way he supports everyone is incredible. Not only for me, but he has the tendency and heart to help everybody that seeks help from him.

My dad is a great singer. His hobby is to sing, and yes, he sings very well. Whenever there is an occasion in the family, he always steps up on the stage and starts singing. He is a hilarious man. The way he handles everything, the bad or good, is incredible. He has taught me to help everybody, to respect everybody regardless of their age or anything. One thing that he always says is that every person should have an artistic hobby in life it could be painting, singing, dancing, etc. because whenever a person is going through some bad times, these hobbies will help him or her to cope with stress and will make them feel better. He never treated me like a son; instead, he treated me like his friend. The way he talks with me is like he is talking to a friend. One thing he taught me is that I should never in my life break someone’s heart. He is the most humble man I have seen in my life. My dad plays volleyball very well. He was the captain of his team while representing his team for a state tournament. Whatever he does, he put his full potential and effort to make it best. He is devoted to his family and society. He helps everybody in the organization.

One thing that I love about him the most is his discipline. It doesn’t matter how busy he might be. He never skips his morning exercise. Every morning he performs yoga and goes for a brisk walk. He taught me the importance of mental fitness, along with physical fitness. He always says that trust yourself and become whatever you want to be.

He believes in living a simple and sober life. He never gets attracted to luxury or any of those useless things. Whatever he earns, he takes out some amount of money for some social cause. The taught me why it is essential to help others. Besides being a good father or a husband, he is a beautiful and noble human being. He supports me in my every step and tells me about the wrong I am doing and the ways by which I can be better. He has always supported my mother in everything. Whether it be household work or social problems. Even after getting success in life, he hasn’t changed his nature.

My father is the best person in my life. He taught me what life is and the perfect way to live it. His values keep inspiring me to do good and become a better person in life. I will try to follow the path taught by him forever.

The person I like Most &The person I love Most Paragraph Essay 2

When this question is asked to someone, the general answer most will give is their parents. When I first came across this question, I was a bit startled when I realized that my answer is not similar to most of the people. So, I paused for a bit and thought about my answer and then realized that yes, it is true.

The person I like the most is my best friend . In fact, along with like, I admire my best friend. My best friend has been the constant pillar in my life that stayed with me till today through thick and thin. So, when I first realized that my answer is nowhere near like the others, I actually was surprised but there is no point in denying the truth after all if I can’t accept the truth about myself then I can never accept anyone else’s point of view.

So, here is the truth. My best friend after knowing this little fact will scream so loud that I am pretty sure everyone in our city will be able to hear it.

The question that why exactly I like my best fried the most arises almost instantly. The fact is there are so many reasons that I can’t possibly choose only one or two among them. However, I would list as many reasons as I can and will try to explain them too.

One of the reasons is that he is a good person. Everyone will think that as he is my best friend, I am saying this but the truth is that is not the fact at all. I admire him because he won’t hesitate to help anyone during their time of need. I can testify this as he had helped me so many times that I have lost count.

Whenever in whatever situation I needed help, he always helped. With him in my life I never felt alone. If I am sad then he will cheer me up or if I need someone to listen to me, he will be there and it doesn’t matter that it is 3 a.m. in the morning or midnight.

I remember one incident. I was upset about something my classmate said about me and when he found out, he came to my house with a bunch of chocolates to listen to me. He has been my constant rock in my life.

Another thing I like about him is his personality. He has an odd combination of childlike, goofy and serious personality. I till this date can’t figure out how he had all these personalities.

He sometime has a childlike ball of energy that likes to bug me with anything and everything and sometime he is the serious guy who needs me to mature a bit in life. When time comes, he even whacks my head if I am doing something wrong. He won’t hesitate to tell me to get my acts straight.

Most of the time he also acts like a retard kid who is high on sugar and sometimes I do worry that he is actually a retard. If he finds out I said this about him then he will simply say that it took me too long to figure this simple fact out.

He is also stubborn like a kid and also acts childishly sometimes. I personally think that he is a 10-year-old kid trapped in an adult’s body. He is sometimes too cute for his own good and rest of the time too stubborn to make me want to slap him (which I do by the way).

Another thing I admire about him is the way he handles a difficult situation with ease. When the situation arises, he steps up as a leader and handle the situation with absolute ease. He is a great leader and has no problem with leading.

He does not discriminate between his subordinates and treats everyone equally and divide the whole work among them with extreme precision. He respects people and knows to give compliment where it’s due and also won’t stop scolding someone if that person does not do the job given to him.

He is the kind of person that likes to take everyone along with him and reaches the goal together with everybody. He has all the qualities of a leader which I really admire about him. If he is determined to achieve a goal then he will do that along with everybody and won’t let anyone give up along the journey either. When a work is given to him, everyone knows that he will complete it with absolute precision.

He loves to protect everyone. He loves the people that are close to him and won’t tolerate anyone hurting those persons. He is protective even about his friends.

He is also supportive. He will encourage me to try out new things as without trying out different things I cannot say that I don’t like them. When I will try out new stuff (doesn’t matter how small or big the thing is), he will be there beside me on every step of the way and I don’t have the fear that he will leave me in the middle of the road.

He has so many qualities that I haven’t listed here. He is an amazing person and I like him as a person. Even if he weren’t my best friend, I still would have admired him because people, who spend a few minutes with him, cannot help but admire him. As his best friend I am proud to have him in my life.

He is a great person and his parents are immensely proud of him. If there were people more like him in this world, then it would have been really great as there would have been more people who are willing to help a stranger in their time of need. He has many admirable qualities and here I have listed very few of them.

Long Essay on My Father

Everyone would describe their fathers differently. They all have different equations and experiences. My father and I may not always speak but understand each other well, while there might be many who talk about many things with their father.

Fathers are said to provide a sense of security and safety among daughters, which is something my father has always given me. Many studies do suggest that daughters look for a man who may be similar to how their father was with them; if he was nurturing or strong. Sons see their fathers as role models, whom they should grow up to be like and imitate their behavior.

My father has always supported me to chase after my dreams and pursue what interests me, knowing the risks. He believes that everyone must make mistakes to learn from them. Fathers are known to be risk-takers in this way. They help to instill problem-solving abilities so that we can do better.

Since time immemorial, there have been many stereotypes about how fathers are the breadwinners, and mothers must take care of the house. In the evolving age of feminism, mothers are now working and pursuing careers, while fathers help take care of the household. My father has always supported my mother’s career and has always appreciated the balance that she has between work and home. He helps her with chores and even makes sure to have food on the table when she is busy with work. My father has taught me that family is essential, and no matter what, my family will always be there for me.

Students can also get 10 Lines on My Father and Paragraph on My Father from here.

While some fathers may seem strict and disciplined, it is because they want their children to learn how to deal with the real world. Fathers have an essential role to play when it comes to their children, forming relationships, as they are influenced by how their father treats the family. My father has always treated my brother and me as equals and has always treated my mother with respect. As mothers, they, too, are an important part of the emotional well-being of a child. Children still want to make their mothers and fathers proud. They seek emotional and physical comfort from their fathers in tough times and look to them for enforcing rules.

Fathers also help build a child’s self-esteem. My father has helped me to be proud of whom I am and stand up for what I believe. He has taught me to be true to myself. A father takes up all kinds of responsibility, from providing for the family to making sure that their children are safe.

Father’s Day is one such day to celebrate fatherhood and their influence on our lives. It is to thank our fathers for what they do for us every day. It falls in June, on the third Sunday. Father’s day will be celebrated on 21st June in 2020. Fathers are essential figures in our lives.

Short Essay on My Father

Fathers are one of the most influential people in our family. Every father is unique and special. They teach us to be reliable as well as caring. Daughters feel safe and secure with their fathers, just like how my father makes me feel. Sons want to be like their fathers and try to behave just like them. Fathers influence who we make friends with and how we interact with people around us.

My father has always taught me to be independent and brave. Fathers help us to solve problems by taking more risks in our lives. Today, fathers are not just breadwinners. Many mothers pursue their careers while fathers also help around the house and are supportive of mothers. My father has always respected my mother’s job and helped her around the house.

Fathers may appear tough, but they are also there for us when we need them. My father has always been a constant support and at the same time, has enforced rules so that I become more responsible. Every year on the third Sunday of June, Father’s Day s celebrated to thank our fathers for what they do for us. Whether it is a card or a gift or even a simple wish, thank your fathers.

My father has never differentiated between a son and a daughter and treats both me and my sibling equally. He has taught us to be upright, honest, respectful and kind. He leads by example and has shown us how to be selfless, brave and patient. My father is my role model and I love him dearly.

  • The Person I Admire the Most is My Father Essay Example

Sweaty, smelly, breathless and tired. For as long as I remember I have always have a passion for soccer. I love the green fields. The excitement of making a goal, the adrenaline of winning a game and the sadness of loosing some. My passion for soccer did not started with me but because of my Father, it's our dream. As sons and daughters, we are expected to follow our parents footprints. My Father's dreams of becoming a professional soccer player were crushed for him, for many reasons. But our lives forever changed when my dad transformed his life for better.

My Father's parents weren't the parents he deserved to have. His dad's love was similar to a cold breeze during Christmas. Cold, hard, painful at times and there was nothing for him to do to change it. One day, as he tells me. His dad was harming his mom in a way he was used to see but never could do anything about it but anger and hate had overcome it's limit that one day. He believed he could do something about it, he felt like he could be David defeating Goliath. But he was just a 12 year old who could do anything but play soccer and wasn't strong enough as he thought. He got kicked out of the house for trying to defend what he loved the most. But what he loved the most left him down.

Since my Father was little his biggest dream was to become a professional soccer player, and he used to prepare so well for it. He used to play and practice every single day and every chance he got was never wasted. But after him being alone and not having where to go, he used to live with his uncle who taught him many heartless things. His uncle used to be in the military and he prepared him to do the same. My dad changed soccer practices to practice in shooting ranges. He was still able to play professional soccer but didn't have anyone to support him to follow what he most dreamed about. He was trained to be in the military and became one of the most amazing military guys. But his dream never left his heart such as his parents did.

After many bad decisions in the military that my Father made, he made the best decision when he met my mom. He says that since the moment she caught his eyes, he was breathless and nervous. He never thought a person was able to put his world upside down. They got married and my dad became a man of God just like my mother was. After being left behind from his own parents, he found love again many years later with my mom. Just to discover that his passion for soccer never left his heart as well. He knew then his time to shine was over, and all he could do is to commit to a family and work hard for them, showing them the love of God he had experience in his life.

I still remember the day my dad taught me how to handle a ball. I remember the beautiful afternoon, it was such a sunny day and the grass was greener than I had ever seen. Maybe I was too little to remember how old I was, but I do remember the ways he used to hold the ball with his feet and tell me "tricks" to do it the right way. He didn't make me fall in love with soccer. It was a decision I made since that day. Soccer passion was what brought me and my dad together, what connected us. It was a love we both shared since I can remember.

Every single day after practice my dad would always be there to support me. But I will never forget one day while we were practicing together and there was no one in the field but him and I. When everything suddenly stopped moving and birds stopped singing. "Follow my footprints, just like I follow my Father's in heaven". That day I realized that as a son, my dad expected me to follow his footprints. His good decisions. His passion for soccer. Our passion. All I ever wanted to do was to become like my my dad. As every parent, my dad always wants me to one day become better than him.

His life experiences hasn't only shown me that your past doesn't define you, but that following my father's footprints means that one day I will be great as he was, and will become even greater than what he ever wanted to be. Following his footprints means following his dreams and mine, making him proud, become a man I have always want to become. When my dad's life was forever changed, was when my dad was able to leave footprints for me to follow. With his love and support I will become the man I'm designed to be and I will help him find his passion for soccer be alive just like mine. Although, life sometimes can be hard, you are always able to decide what footprints to follow and depends on you to work hard to become better every single day.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

316 Words Essay on The Person I like the Most – My mother

The person I like the most is my mother. She is one of the most fun-loving people I have ever seen. She is also very smart and independent. But what I like most about her is her helpful nature.

She never ignores an opportunity to help someone in need. She is also very fond of children. My friends also like her. She has a good sense of humor which is often targeted at my father. My father doesn’t mind, though. My grandmother told me once that she used to be a very naughty and willful child and gave her teachers a very hard time.

But as she also got good marks they were not angry with her for long. My mother is a multi-talented person. She can write well, sing and paint. She works as an interior designer and earns a lot of money, a portion of which she spends on charity. Her favorite charities include orphanages and homes for destitute women.

My mother buys a lot of things for me. She buys books, clothes, and she even bought a Persian kitten for me. For this she had to argue with my father for he didn’t want to have pets in the house. But she managed to convince him for she knew that I wanted a pet badly. Sometimes I think that she is still a child at heart.

She has never broken a promise she has made to me. She often tells my father that one shouldn’t make a promise if one can’t keep it even if it is made to a child. She encourages me to be the best in all that I do.

And even if I falter, she is there to support me without any criticism. She is more like a friend to me and there is nothing that I can’t share with her. That is why I like her the most.

Pop-up pornography is unexpected and uninvited in kids' online spaces, and it's harming young people

A 17-year-old boy stands smiling and with his arms crossed.

Alex was in year 6 on Wikipedia researching a project, on his iPad, when porn popped up unexpectedly.

"I thought my iPad had been infected with a virus or something and I was quite scared," the now 17-year-old says.

"I didn't want to tell dad that I had this weird virus … I felt very embarrassed."

Youth advocate and educator Dan Principe works with young people to build ideas about healthy masculinity and respectful relationships.

He says "pop-up sex bots dropping into these primary schoolers' online spaces" are now to be expected — but definitely not welcome.

"We're talking about a $97 billion-a-year industry that makes up 30 per cent of the internet, as a conservative estimate," he says.

"I just want to be really, really clear that's not young people's fault.

"Is this the healthiest way to learn about sex, consent, and respect? Is this going to be a positive sex educator? Or is it actually harming us?"

So what is the harm?

Years ago you had to walk into a shop to buy a pornographic magazine or video.

Now it's available to anyone with a digital device, and it's making its way to children without them even looking for it.

QUT researcher Maree Crabbe says half of young people reported it was not intentional the first time they saw pornography.

A smiling woman with brown hair and wearing a checked top.

"It might have just appeared in their social media feed or a pop-up, or they might have spelt something wrong in a search engine," Ms Crabbe says.

Sasha, 16, says online porn is "unavoidable".

"I've definitely come across it on Instagram because, on your Explore page, you don't have much control over what comes up," she says.

"I tried to ignore it because I didn't know what to do with that information."

She thinks pornography is harmful to young people because it pushes unrealistic standards.

A 16-year-old girl in a school uniform sits at a desk and smiles.

"These things aren't real. And especially to young girls, like, no young girl is going to look like that," she says.

"But the idea of that's what's beautiful, that's desirable, I think is quite harmful."

Jasmine, 17, believes pornography "perpetuates an unrealistic body image".

"That's what [young women] see as desirable so that stuff gets ingrained in the culture of society," she says.

A 17-year-old girl in school uniform stands against a wall and smiles.

Educator Dan says porn is also a driver of attitudes that see women as less human, and reinforces ideas of power and dominance of men over women.

"It's certainly not helping to establish great understandings of respectful relationships and consent," he says.

'This is not OK'

Ms Crabbe is the director of an Australian project called It's Time We Talked which focuses on the impact pornography has on young people.

She says most of what teenagers are seeing is not even close to reality and confuses what we understand as consent, pleasure, and how men and women should behave.

"It's often sexist, and racist, and homophobic," Ms Crabbe says.

"The reason that I got into this work is because young people told me that they were learning about sex from porn.

"And when I looked at what they're learning about sex from porn, and I read the research about it and its impacts — particularly its relationship to violence — I thought 'this is not OK'."

A study that Ms Crabbe and her colleagues recently released found that almost half of all boys had seen pornography by the age of 13, and almost half of girls had seen it by the age of 15.

"On average, young men see pornography three years before their first partnered sexual experience and young women see it two years before," she says.

"So often children or young people are being exposed to sexual imagery online before they've kissed an intimate partner or been intimate with someone in any way at all."

Ms Crabbe says pornography is impacting the kinds of sexual practices that young people are engaging in — and it's dangerous.

"We're seeing an increase, for example, in strangulation during sex, which is a very dangerous practice and has become, unfortunately, quite common with no conversation about consent," she says.

Jasmine thinks the unrealistic treatment of women in pornographic videos is a concern.

"Getting choked and pushed around and stuff is seen as the ideal by young men," she says.

"And then young women see that as well. And they think, 'Oh, this is what's supposed to be happening to me.'"

Alex says it also influences what young men see as the norm.

"Is this what we're going to have to be doing?" he says.

Setting up unrealistic expectations

Ms Crabbe says pornography is "not how to create good pleasure for a partner in real life".

And the kids who spoke to BTN High agree.

Charlie was in year 7 doing homework when porn popped up unexpectedly on his device.

"It's a fake scenario, it's not real life, [and] it's often before a lot of people experience their first romantic relationship," the now 18-year-old says.

An 18-year-old high school student looking serious.

"A lot of the stuff that people see is fake, it's not authentic," Jasmine says.

"Very fake," says Alex.

"And as a result, I guess that ultimately hurts your relationships and further relationships in the future."

How to counteract harmful messages

The government is trialling age verification technology that could restrict access to porn for those under the age of 18.

The eSafety Commissioner has also given social media and tech giants until the end of the year to show how they'll stop children from being exposed to pornography online .

A young man wearing a black T-shirt sits in the middle of a row of black chairs.

"Surely we can do more to keep young people safe," says Dan, the youth advocate and educator.

"We need to rearrange the fact that we have put the profits of this billion-dollar industry ahead of the wellbeing of young people."

Charlie thinks uncomfortable conversations are needed.

"I think there definitely should be more protection for young people online … [when] going on different websites or social media. There need to be measures put in place for that," he says.

"And then also, I think, if people want to access it, there still should be age restrictions in place because of the impact it can have on young men and young women at such a young age."

But for teenagers like Sasha, pop-up porn can be a difficult and embarrassing topic to discuss.

"It's such a taboo topic. No-one's really talking about it," she says.

"So I think starting open conversations and breaking down that taboo barrier would definitely help."

Britain’s Violent Riots: What We Know

Officials had braced for more unrest on Wednesday, but the night’s anti-immigration protests were smaller, with counterprotesters dominating the streets instead.

  • Share full article

A handful of protesters, two in masks, face a group of riot police officers with shields. In the background are a crowd, a fire and smoke in the air.

By Lynsey Chutel

After days of violent rioting set off by disinformation around a deadly stabbing rampage, the authorities in Britain had been bracing for more unrest on Wednesday. But by nightfall, large-scale anti-immigration demonstrations had not materialized, and only a few arrests had been made nationwide.

Instead, streets in cities across the country were filled with thousands of antiracism protesters, including in Liverpool, where by late evening, the counterdemonstration had taken on an almost celebratory tone.

Over the weekend, the anti-immigration protests, organized by far-right groups, had devolved into violence in more than a dozen towns and cities. And with messages on social media calling for wider protests and counterprotests on Wednesday, the British authorities were on high alert.

With tensions running high, Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s cabinet held emergency meetings to discuss what has become the first crisis of his recently elected government. Some 6,000 specialist public-order police officers were mobilized nationwide to respond to any disorder, and the authorities in several cities and towns stepped up patrols.

Wednesday was not trouble-free, however.

In Bristol, the police said there was one arrest after a brick was thrown at a police vehicle and a bottle was thrown. In the southern city of Portsmouth, police officers dispersed a small group of anti-immigration protesters who had blocked a roadway. And in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where there have been at least four nights of unrest, disorder continued, and the police service said it would bring in additional officers.

But overall, many expressed relief that the fears of wide-scale violence had not been realized.

Here’s what we know about the turmoil in Britain.

Where arrests have been reported
