सबको मेरा नमस्कार।

आज विश्व प्रसिद्ध ‘मिसाइल मैन ऑफ इंडिया’ डॉ. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम का जन्म दिवस है। मुझे इस बात की खुशी है कि इस मंच पर इस महान व्यक्ति के जीवन और विचार को आपके साथ शेयर करने का मौका मिला। अब्दुल कलाम भारत के सबसे महान व्यक्तित्व में से एक है।

डॉ. कलाम की पूरी जीवन यात्रा हर किसी के लिए और खासकर मेरे लिए सदैव ही प्रेरणा दायक रही है। एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम एक ऐसे शख्सियत थे, जिसने जीवन के संघर्षों को पछाड़कर अपनी नई राह बनाई। उन्होंने सिखाया कि अगर सूर्य की तरह चमकना हैं, तो पहले खुद को जलाना सीखना होगा।

15 अक्टूबर, 1931 को एक मुस्लिम परिवार में जन्मे अब्दुल कलाम प्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक और इंजीनियर थे। उनका पूरा नाम अवल पाकिर जैनुलबदीन अब्दुल कलाम है। तमिलनाडु के एक बहुत साधरण परिवार में पैदा अब्दुल कलाम बचपन से ही एक तेज छात्र और आज्ञाकारी बालक थे। उनके पिता पेशे से नाविक थे और मछुआरों को नाव किराए पर दिया करते थे। उनके माता पिता पढ़े लिखे नहीं थे।

घर चलने के लिए उनके पिता की बेहद कम आजीविका थी, इसलिए अपने पिता को आर्थिक मदद करने के लिए केवल 8 साल की उम्र में ही वो समाचार पत्र वितरित किया करते थे। उनके घर में बिजली नहीं थी, इसलिए वो ढिबरी की रोशनी में पढ़ाई करते थे। अब्दुल कलाम बचपन से ही लड़ाकू विमान उड़ाने का एक ही सपना देखते थे।

परीक्षा में सिर्फ एक रैंक से पीछे रहने के कारण उनका यह ख्वाब सदा के लिए अधूरा रह गया। अपने अध्यापक सुब्रह्मण्यम अय्यर से मिली प्रेरणानुसार बाद में उन्होंने एयरोस्पेस टेक्नोलॉजी में जाने का फैसला किया। एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम बच्चों और युवाओं में काफी लोकप्रिय थे। उन्हें साल 1997 में भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया।

इसके अलावा कलाम को 1990 में पद्म विभूषण, 1981 में पद्म भूषण और 2000 में रामानुजन अवार्ड भी दिया गया है। अब्दुल कलाम की बातें हमेशा नई दिशा की ओर प्रेरित करती थी। उन्होंने करोड़ों आंखों को बड़े सपने देखना सिखाया। कलाम का एक अनोखा सिद्धांत था कि सपने वो नहीं जो हम नींद में देखते हैं, सपने वो हैं, जो हमें सोने ही नहीं देते।

साल 2015 में 27 जुलाई को हार्ट अटैक के कारण उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। उनकी संपत्ति के बारे में यदि कहा जाये तो उनके पास संपत्ति के रूप में 2500 किताबें, 5 शर्ट, एक जोड़ जूते, एक कलाई घड़ी, 4 ट्राउजर्स और 3 सूट के अलावा कुछ भी न था। उनका जीवन काफी सादगीमय था लेकिन फिर भी लोगों को जीने की राह दिखाता था।

नमस्कार अतिथि महोदय और मेरे प्यारे साथियों।

विश्व की महान विभूतियों में से एक एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम एक दुर्लभ नेता थे। एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम बुद्धिमान और निस्वार्थ व्यक्ति थे। उनका राजनीतिक कद जाति और धर्म की भेदभावपूर्ण रेखाओं से बहुत ऊपर है। एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम इस दुनिया में 15 अक्टूबर 1931 को उस समय आए, जब भारत अंग्रेजों के कब्जे में था।

उनका जन्म तमिलनाडु में एक तमिल मुस्लिम परिवार में हुआ था। उनके पिता एक नाव के मालिक थे जबकि उनकी माँ एक गृहिणी थी। इसके अलावा, कलाम के पांच भाई-बहन थे और वह सबसे छोटे थे। स्कूल में कलाम एक औसत छात्र थे लेकिन फिर भी मेहनती और होनहार थे।

उन्होंने युवा को सिखाया की असफलताओं से कभी विचलित नहीं होना चाहिए और हरदम अपने सपनों की और बढ़ते रहना चाहिए। सफलता एक बड़ी लड़ाई है। उस लड़ाई को जीतने के लिए आपके पास चार चीजें होनी चाहिए। पहला है लक्ष्य निर्धारित करना, दूसरा है लगातार ज्ञान प्राप्त करना, तीसरा है भक्ति के साथ मेहनत करना और चौथा है लगन। यदि आपके पास ये चार उपकरण हैं तो आप निश्चित रूप से अद्वितीय बन जाएंगे।

कलाम भारत के लिए एक महान संपत्ति थे। विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में उनके अद्वितीय योगदान ने भारत को नई ऊंचाइयों पर पहुंचाया। कलाम की अध्यक्षता में शांति और दक्षता की विशेषता थी। नेता आते-जाते रहते हैं। कभी-कभी हम कलाम जैसे प्रमुख व्यक्ति से मिलते हैं। उनका नाम निश्चित रूप से इतिहास में सबसे महान राष्ट्रपतियों में से एक के रूप में दर्ज किया जाएगा, जिसे भारत ने कभी देखा है।

साथ ही लोग उन्हें एक शानदार वैज्ञानिक के तौर पर भी याद करेंगे। वह व्यक्ति प्रत्येक भारतीय के लिए एक अनमोल रत्न था। भारतीय लोग एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम से प्यार करते हैं। मद्रास इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी से साल 1960 में एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम ने ग्रेजुएशन प्राप्त किया। उसके बाद कलाम का जुड़ाव रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास सेवा (DRDS) से हुआ।

कलाम के लिए बड़ी उपलब्धि तब मिली जब वह भारत के पहले सैटेलाइट लॉन्च व्हीकल (SLV- III) के इसरो में प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर थे। यह उपग्रह 1980 में रोहिणी उपग्रह की तैनाती के लिए जिम्मेदार था। इसके अलावा, कलाम ध्रुवीय उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण यान (PSLV) और SLV  दोनों प्रोजेक्ट सफल रहे। कलाम की प्रतिष्ठा में वृद्धि लाना।

उनका जन्म 15 अक्टूबर 1931 को रामेश्वरम में एक बेहद गरीब परिवार में हुआ था। उनके पिता एक मछुआरे थे। उन्हें बचपन से ही उड़ना पसंद था, वह अपने स्कूल टीचर से पूछते थे कि ये पक्षी हवा में कैसे उड़ता है? वह बचपन से ही बहुत होशियार थे और पढ़ना पसंद करता थे, लेकिन उसके परिवार के पास उसकी स्कूल फीस के लिए पर्याप्त आय नहीं थी।

परिवार की आर्थिक मदद के लिए वो सुबह जल्दी उठकर अखबार बेचने का काम करते थे। वह बहुत मेहनती और बुद्धिमान छात्र था और उसे विज्ञान और गणित के विषय बहुत पसंद थे। स्कूल से पास होने के बाद उन्होंने सेंट जोसेफ कॉलेज, तिरुचिरापल्ली में प्रवेश लिया और 1954 में भौतिकी में डिग्री पूरी की। फिर मद्रास इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी में अध्ययन किया और 1955 में एरोनॉटिकल इंजीनियरिंग में डिग्री हासिल की।

डॉ. अब्दुल आलम बचपन से ही पायलट बनना चाहते थे और आसमान की ऊंचाइयों को नापना चाहते थे, वह अपने सपने को साकार नहीं कर पाए। लेकिन उन्होंने अपनी कई असफलताओं से सीखा और अपने जीवन में कई सफलताएं हासिल की, जिन्हें हम कभी नहीं भूल सकते।

अब्दुल कलाम स्नातक की पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद भारत के रक्षा विभाग में शामिल हो गए। एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम आजाद को 1992 में भारतीय रक्षा मंत्रालय में वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था। 1998 में उनकी देखरेख में, पोखरण में दूसरा सफल परमाणु परीक्षण किया गया, जिसके बाद भारत को परमाणु शक्ति संपन्न देशों की सूची में शामिल किया गया।

डॉ कलाम का शुरूआती जीवन संघर्षों से भरा रहा था। उन्होंने अपनी आरंभिक शिक्षा जारी रखने के लिए अख़बार वितरित करने का कार्य भी किया था। उन्हें बचपन से ही सिखने की बहुत इच्छा थी। रामनाथपुरम, तमिलनाडु से मैट्रिक की पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद डॉ कलाम वर्ष 1955 में वे मद्रास चले गए वहाँ उन्होंने ‘ मद्रास इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी’ , चेन्नई में एयरोस्पेस इंजीनियरिंग की पढ़ाई पूरी की। क्या आप जानते हैं डॉ. ए पी जे अब्दुल कलाम एक लड़ाकू पायलट बनना चाहते थे लेकिन उन्हें ‘भारतीय वायु सेना’ (IAF) की प्रवेश परीक्षा में नौवां स्थान मिला था। जबकि IAF ने केवल 8वीं रैंक तक ही रिजल्ट की घोषणा की थी इसलिए वह पायलट नहीं बन सके।

डॉ. ए पी जे अब्दुल कलाम अपनी पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) में एक वैज्ञानिक के रूप में शामिल हुए, जहां उन्होंने ‘ हावरक्राफ्ट परियोजना’ पर काम किया। डॉ कलाम ने कुछ समय तक प्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक ‘ विक्रम साराभाई’ के साथ भी काम किया था। इसके बाद वह वर्ष 1962 में ‘भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन’ ( ISRO) में आ गए, यहाँ उन्होंने प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर रहते हुए सफलतापूर्वक कई उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण परियोजनाओं में अपनी अहम भूमिका निभाई थी।

Abdul Kalam) ने ISRO में प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर के तौर पर भारत के पहले स्वदेशी सैटेलाइट लांच व्हीकल SLV-III के निर्माण में महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई थी। इस प्रथम सैटेलाइट व्हीकल से भारत ने वर्ष 1980 में रोहिणी सैटेलाइट सफलतापूर्वक अंतरिक्ष में भेजा था। इस मिसाइल को बनाने में डॉ कलाम में अपना अहम योगदान दिया था, जिस वजह से उन्हें ‘ मिसाइल मैन’ की उपाधि से नवाजा गया। इसके बाद डॉ कलाम ने देश के लिए कई महत्वपूर्ण परियोजनाओं में कार्य किया और देश के लिए कई मिसाइलें बनाई।

इसके बाद डॉ. कलाम ने वर्ष 1992 से 1999 तक रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (DRDO) में सेक्रेटरी के रूप में कार्य किया। वह प्रधानमंत्री के मुख्य वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार भी थे। वर्ष 1998 में दूसरे परमाणु परीक्षण में डॉ. कलाम ने महत्वपूर्ण तकनीकी और राजनीतिक भूमिका निभाई थी। इस सफल परमाणु परिक्षण के बाद ही तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी ने भारत को एक पूर्ण विकसित परमाणु देश घोषित किया और भारत विश्व में एक महाशक्ति के रूप में उभरा।

डॉ. ए पी जे अब्दुल कलाम 18 जुलाई 2002 को भारत के 11वें राष्ट्रपति बने। क्या आप जानते हैं कि डॉ कलाम भारत के सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान ‘ भारत रत्न’ प्राप्त करने वाले भारत के तीसरे राष्ट्रपति थे। बता दें कि डॉ कलाम से पहले वर्ष 1954 में “ डॉ सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन ” और वर्ष 1963 में “ डॉ. जाकिर हुसैन ” को यह सम्मान प्रदान किया गया था। डॉ कलाम वर्ष 2002 से 2007 तक भारत के राष्ट्रपति पद पर आसीन रहे और इसके बाद उन्होंने फिर से राष्ट्रपति चुनाव ना लड़ने का फैसला किया। राष्ट्रपति के पद से मुक्त होने के बाद डॉ कलाम ने देश के विभिन्न कॉलेज-संस्थानों में अध्यापन कार्य किया और कई पुस्तकें लिखी

डॉ. कलाम ने विज्ञान और अंतरिक्ष के क्षेत्र में अपना अतुलनीय योगदान दिया है, जिसकी वजह से उन्हें वर्ष 1997 में भारत के सबसे प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार ‘भारत रत्न’ से भी सम्मानित किया गया था। उन्होंने अपने जीवन के बहुत से वर्ष रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) के लिए काम करते हुए बिताए थे। 

देश का सर्वोच्‍च पद पर रहने के बाद भी डॉ. कलाम हमेशा अपना जीवन सादगी के साथ जीते रहे  उनका स्‍वभाव बेहद सहज, सरल और विनम्र था। वे हमेशा खुद को एक वैज्ञानिक और शिक्षक की तरह ही देखा करते थे। लेकिन 27 जुलाई 2015 को भारतीय प्रबंधन संस्थान (IIM) शिलांग में व्याख्यान देते समय हृदय गति रुकने से अचानक उनका निधन हो गया। 

डॉ. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम (A.P.J. Abdul Kalam) ने अपने जीवन में बहुत सी विपरीत परिस्थितियों का सामना किया था। लेकिन जीवन में उन्होंने कभी भी कठिन परिस्थितियों के आगे हार नहीं मानी। यही वजह रही है कि उनका जीवन आज भी युवाओं के लिए प्रेरणा का स्त्रोत रहा हैं। डॉ. कलाम को उनके कार्यों के लिए बहुत से राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित किया गया था। जिन्हें नीचे दिए गए टेबल में बताया जा रहा हैं:-

My Vision For India by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Following text is the speech delivered by former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

I have three visions for India. In 3000 years of our history people from all over the world have come and invaded us, captured our lands, conquered our minds. From Alexander onwards the Greeks, the Turks, the Moguls, the Portuguese, the British, the French, the Dutch, all of them came and looted us, took over what was ours. Yet we have not done this to any other nation.

We have not conquered anyone. We have not grabbed their land, their culture and their history and tried to enforce our way of life on them. Why? Because we respect the freedom of others. That is why my FIRST VISION is that of FREEDOM. I believe that India got its first vision of this in 1857, when we started the war of Independence. It is this freedom that we must protect and nurture and build on. If we are not free, no one will respect us.

We have 10 percent growth rate in most areas. Our poverty levels are falling. Our achievements are being globally recognised today. Yet we lack the self-confidence to see ourselves as a developed nation, self-reliant and self-assured. Isn’t this incorrect? MY SECOND VISION for India is DEVELOPMENT. For fifty years we have been a developing nation. It is time we see ourselves as a developed nation. We are among top five nations in the world in terms of GDP.

I have a THIRD VISION. India must stand up to the world. Because I believe that unless India stands up to the world, no one will respect us. Only strength respects strength. We must be strong not only as a military power but also as an economic power. Both must go hand-in-hand. My good fortune was to have worked with three great minds. Dr.Vikram Sarabhai, of the Dept. of Space, Professor Satish Dhawan, who succeeded him and Dr. Brahm Prakash, father of nuclear material. I was lucky to have worked with all three of them closely and consider this the great opportunity of my life.

I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year-old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is. She replied: I want to live in a developed India. For her, you and I will have to build this developed India. You must proclaim India is not an underdeveloped nation; it is a highly developed nation.

You say that our government is inefficient. You say that our laws are too old. You say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage. You say that the phones don’t work, the railways are a joke, the airline is the worst in the world, and mails never reach their destination. You say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits. You say, say and say. What do you do about it?

Dear Indians, I am echoing J.F.Kennedy’s words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians ……. “ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY.”

'My Vision for India' is a speech delivered by India’s former President, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, in which he describes his three visions for India if it has to enter the comity of developed nations. He tries to make people realise their duties and motivate them to build a stronger India.

First vision: He recalls how India has, time and again, been looted by invaders. India, on the other hand, has never invaded any country because it respects the freedom of others. Modern India’s First War of Independence was fought in 1857. Having subsequently achieved independence, we need to protect this freedom, without which no one will respect us.

Second vision: India is growing economically and the rate of poverty is declining. The 10% GDP growth rate is a healthy sign. But Dr. Kalam observed that Indians have failed to see themselves as a group of self-reliant people. He, however, wants to see India as a developed and not just a developing nation.

Third vision: To see India strong, both economically and militarily, because people tend to respect those who are strong.

Finally, India could become as great a nation as the United States of America or any European country if its people stop criticising their own government and other institutions. A change in attitude is required. Instead of complaining, people should participate in the process of development by resolving problems on their own.

भारत के महान वैज्ञानिक डा. ए. पी. जे. अब्दुल कलाम का वास्तविक नाम अबुल पाकिर जैनुल आब्दीन अब्दुल कलाम था। भारत के रक्षा और अंतरिक्ष विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में इन्होंने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई जिसके सम्मान में इन्हें “भारत का मिसाइल मैन” कहा गया। वे सादा जीवन जीते हुए उच्च विचारों वाले व्यक्ति थे। गैर हिन्दू होते हुए भी श्रीमद् भागवत गीता इन्हें कंठस्थ याद था। वे छात्रों को विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी की तरफ प्रोत्साहित करते थे। कलाम सर ने ज्यादातर विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी और प्रेरणादायक के क्षेत्र में कई किताबें लिखी थी।

ए. पी. जे. अब्दुल कलाम पर 10 लाइन (Ten Lines on A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in Hindi)

आईये इन वाक्यों के सेट से हम भारत के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति अब्दुल कलाम जी के जीवन और कार्यों से जुड़े कुछ महत्वपूर्ण बातों को जानते है।

Abdul Kalam par 10 Vakya – Set 1

1) अबुल पाकिर जैनुल आब्दीन अब्दुल कलाम का जन्म 15 अक्टूबर 1931 को हुआ।

2) इनका जन्म रामेश्वरम के धनुषकोडी ग्राम में एक मध्यमवर्गीय परिवार में हुआ।

3) बचपन से ही कलाम पढ़ने में बहुत होनहार थे और फाइटर पायलट बनना चाहते थे।

4) अपनी शिक्षा को जारी रखने के लिए कलाम अख़बार बेचने का भी कार्य करते थे।

5) अंतरिक्ष विज्ञान में स्नाकोत्तर इन्होंने मद्रास इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी से पूरा किया।

6) स्नातक के पश्चात् कलाम रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) में शामिल हुए।

7) DRDO के बाद 1962 में ISRO से जुड़ें और कई उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण कार्यों में शामिल हुए।

8) इन्हें सत्ता पक्ष और विपक्ष दोनों की सहमति से भारत का 11वां राष्ट्रपति चुना गया।

9) इनके योगदानों के लिए इन्हें 1997 में ‘भारत रत्न’ से सम्मानित किया गया।

10) 25 जुलाई 2015 को IIM शिलांग में एक व्याख्यान के दौरान हार्ट अटैक से इनकी मृत्यु हो गयी।

1) एक गरीब परिवार में जन्मे अब्दुल कलाम ने अपनी मेहनत और लगन से वैज्ञानिक और राष्ट्रपति के तौर पर देश का मान बढ़ाया।

2) कलाम संयुक्त परिवार से थे, जिसमें लगभग 25 सदस्य थे।

3) कलाम सर ने पहला स्वदेशी उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण यान III (PSLV III) के परियोजना निदेशक के रूप में कार्य किया।

4) अंतरिक्ष विज्ञान की निपुणता ने उन्हें भारत के “मिसाइल मैन” नाम से लोकप्रिय बना दिया।

5) भारत की बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल प्रौद्योगिकी और प्रक्षेपण यान प्रणालियों पर उन्होंने उत्कृष्ट कार्य किया था।

6) राजस्थान के पोखरण में हुए दुसरे सफल परमाणु परिक्षण में कलाम सर ने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।

7) भारतीय रक्षा मंत्रालय के वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार के रूप में इन्होंने भारतीय रक्षा के लिए अग्नि मिसाइल प्रणाली के विकास में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।

8) उनके जन्मदिन 15 अक्टूबर को तमिलनाडु में ‘युवा पुनर्जागरण दिवस’ का रूप में मनाते हैं।

9) भारतीय वायुसेना में 8 रिक्तियों में 9वां स्थान आने के कारण ये फाइटर पायलट बनने से चूक गये थे।

10) कलाम सर को 40 से अधिक विश्वविद्यालयों से डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि प्राप्त थी।

डॉ एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम के विचार और उनकी विचारधारा सदैव युवा पीढ़ी के लिए मार्गदर्शन का काम करेगी। देश की सुरक्षा और शक्ति से लेकर आधुनिक तकनीक के क्षेत्र में कलाम जी द्वारा किये गये योगदान हमेशा स्मरणीय रहेंगे। भारत की पकड़ अंतरिक्ष तक पहुंचाना हो या भारत को परमाणु शक्ति बना देने जैसे सभी कार्यों के लिए देश व देश के लोग हमेशा कलाम सर के आभारी रहेंगे।

DR. APJ Abdul Kalam Biography एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम का जन्म तमिलनाडु के रामेश्वरम के धनुषकोडी गांव में 15 अक्टूबर 1931 को हुआ था। उनका बचपन संघर्षों से भरा रहा है। कलाम साहब हमेशा सीखने की कला को महत्व देते थे। वह बचपन में अखबार बेचते थे क्योंकि उनके परिवार के पास ज्यादा पैसे नहीं थे और न ही उनके पिता जैनुलाब्दीन ज्यादा पढ़े लिखे थे।

Greeting everyone. Today, I am here to deliver a speech on APJ Abdul Kalam. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s full name was Avul Pakir Zainuldeben Abdul Kalam, very few people know him by his full name as he was mostly addressed as ‘Missile Man of India’ and ‘People’s President’. He was born into a very poor family in Rameswaram on October 15, 1931. 

Since childhood, he enjoyed flying, and was equally curious to know how birds fly in the air? He was very intelligent and enjoyed reading, but his family did not have sufficient income for his school fees, so to support his education, he would wake up early in the morning and ride a bicycle 3 kilometres from home to collect newspapers and sell them. 

He was admitted to St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirapalli, and later he went on to complete a degree in physics in 1954 and then studied at the Madras Institute of Technology and graduated in aeronautical engineering in 1955. Since his childhood, Dr Abdul Alam wanted to be a pilot but couldn’t make his dream come true. He learned from his mistakes and accomplished numerous achievements in his life. After completing his degree, Abdul Kalam entered the Defense Department of India. He has been one of the key figures in building the nuclear capabilities of India.

APJ Abdul Kalam was appointed to the Indian Ministry of Defense as a Technical Advisor in 1992, after which he served with DRDO and ISRO, the country's largest organization. Considered a national hero for successful nuclear tests in 1998, a second successful nuclear test was conducted in Pokhran the same year under his supervision, after which India was included in the list of nuclear-powered nations. Abdul Kalam has been active in all space programs and development programs in India as a scientist. For developing India's Agni missile, Kalam was called 'Missile Man.'Abdul Kalam made a special technological and scientific contribution, for which, along with Bharat Ratna, India's highest honour, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, Padam Vibhushan, etc. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate by more than 30 universities in the world for the same. 

In 2002, he was elected President of India and was the country's first scientist and non-political president. He visited many countries during his tenure as President and led India's youth through his lectures and encouraged them to move forward.  ‘My vision for India’ was a Famous Speech of APJ Abdul Kalam delivered at IIT Hyderabad in 2011, and is to this day my favourite speech. His far-reaching thinking gave India's growth a fresh path and became the youth's inspiration. Dr Abdul Kalam died on July 27, 2015, from an apparent cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at IIM Shillong at the age of 83. He spent his entire life in service and inspiration for the nation and the youth, and his death is also while addressing the youth. His death is a never-ending loss to the country.

Today, I am here to deliver a speech on Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. APJ Abdul Kalam was born to Jainulabdeen and Ashiamma on October 15, 1931. His father was a boat owner and his mother was a homemaker. His family's economic situation was not strong, so at an early age, he began helping his family financially.

He graduated in 1955 from the Madras Institute of Technology and graduated from St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli, in Aerospace Engineering. He joined the Defense Research and Development Organization's (DRDO) Aeronautical Development Base as a Chief Scientist after his graduation. He won credit as Project Director-General for making India's first indigenous satellite (SLV III) rocket. It was his ultimate support that brought nuclear power to India. In July 1992, he was appointed Scientific Advisor to the Indian Ministry of Defence. As a national counsellor, he played a significant role in the world-famous nuclear tests at Pokhran II. In 1981, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan Award, in 1909 the Padma Vibhushan, and in 1997 the highest civilian award of India' Bharat Ratna 'for modernizing the defence technology of India and his outstanding contribution. 

From July 25, 2002 - July 25, 2007, he served as President of India, becoming famous among Indians and receiving a lot of attention from Indian youth. He became popular as the People's President. Kalam worked as a professor, chancellor, and assistant at many institutions after leaving office. He experienced serious cardiac arrest on the evening of July 27, 2015, and fell unconscious and died 2 hours later.

In 1999, Kalam published his autobiography and a book called The Wings of Fire. He has written many other books that are useful to the people of every generation.
