The threat of nuclear weapons maintains world peace but nuclear power provides cheap and clean energy. The benefits of nuclear technology far outweigh the disadvantages. To what extent do you agree or disagree? the innovation of unclear technology has brought human being into a new world. some people believe its advantages over the disadvantages. however, i have different view on it. doubtlessly, the advances of nuclear technology benefit people in many ways. the invention of nuclear generator provides thousand times electricity than the traditional one does. also, instead of burning fossil fuel, it emits no carbon dioxide to the surroundings, which is recognised as the only solution to solve global warming and continuously supplies adequate power. besides, nuclear weapons are powerful defences to against terrorist activities. although the nuclear energy generation can eases the energy crisis all over the world, it is highly hazardous not only to nearby citizens but also nations. last year, the tsunami destroyed nuclear plant in Japan and caused massive reactant leakage. this accident contaminated nearby water region, even countries over the pacific ocean are affected. countless kinds of species are mutated, which the harmful consequences are still unknown. the incident poses serious threat to all organisms. furthermore, countries are competing to hold as much nuclear weapons as possible. they claim that such weapons are simply for security purpose. however, the total amount of nuclear weapons is more than enough to destroy the entire world several times. in my opinion, it is questionable that maintaining national peace by such scary weapons. on a whole, nuclear technology is beneficial to mankind especially on energy issue. meanwhile, it also poses life-threatening hazards to all species. i doubt about the worthiness of risking people's lives to obtain temporary merits. To what extent do you agree or disagree? As being the prominent and one of the most powerful technique, Administrative bodies of across the globe utilizes nuclear technology for its own benefits. Although, nuclear weapons are one of the most integral parts of maintaining world’s peace, however policy makers debate whether the advantages of nuclear technology surpass the disadvantages. Mainly, because of its benefits such as public protection and cheap energy sources, clears the air why advantages of using nuclear technology way outweigh the disadvantages. Nuclear technology presents a vital role for public protection since it has the direct correlation with the safety with citizens all over the world. To clarify this, many strong and powerful countries like USA, Russia, India and China have nuclear weapons made from nuclear technology and utilize this whenever a very dangerous and harmful war happens between countries to save its own people. For example, in 1965, in China-India war, India utilized nuclear atom against China to shield its people. It can be also used for producing various energies, which plays beneficial role for human’s life. It helps to generate cheap and clean energy. For example, in the year of 1998, Russia manufactured cold water refinement energy, which helps to clean and cold water to its citizens with very low-cost money. Although disadvantage such as explosion with the misuse of nuclear technology, however its use as public protection and useful source for energy surpassing all of its disadvantages. In future, Governments from all across the world should need to utilize more nuclear technology in a correct way to explore more benefits for human beings with keeping in mind, that any misuse must be avoided.

To what extent do you agree or disagree? It is believed that nuclear armaments make the world a safe place and the nuclear energy is inexpensive and environment friendly source of energy. I strongly believe that merits of nuclear technology are much more than its demerits. In this essay, firstly we will discuss about how nuclear energy sources are more useful and environmentalist and secondly, we will discuss how production of nuclear energy emits hazardous waste. To begin with, one of the main advantages is that nuclear energy is a clean energy as it does not release any harmful gases into the atmosphere. To discuss this point, nuclear energy reduces the emission of green house gases rather than fossil fuels which will further decrease risk of the global warming and thus, creates a pollution free environment. For example, In India, many new nuclear projects have been launched in last month. Secondly, nuclear technology plays a vital role for public protection. To elucidate it further, some countries like USA, Russia have nuclear arsenals made from nuclear technology which will help them to protect their own countries citizens whenever there is a war. For instance, in 1965, in China-India war, India utilized nuclear atom against China to shield its people. As a result, nuclear energy can bring a lot of benefits to people globally. On the other hand, generating nuclear power does not emit harmful greenhouse gases in the air however, it does create hazardous waste. To elaborate it further, the waste produced by nuclear energy stays for thousands of years and hence, accumulation of hazardous nuclear waste can lead many problems to the environment. An example here would be, in India the government is taking measures to remove all the dangerous waste generated by nuclear energy. To conclude, nuclear technology is more beneficial to mankind. Although, its manufacturing can lead to many environmental problems. Thus, we should always consider its advantages and disadvantages before taking any step.

Nuclear energy is speculated destructive that leads its production illicit in many countries. Nuclear energy is tamed for fuelling transportation, energy for plants and machineries as the world is apprehensive to replenish the deficit of power. Nuclear energy is one of the best sources of power which is claimed to be abundant in the Earth. Especially, developed countries are endeavouring for processing nuclear energy as they calculate price over other fossil fuels. Moreover, nuclear energy is cheaper in price, and considered cleaner. It is safe if it is stored using advanced technology. In fact, it has comparative advantage to oil and gas because nuclear power proliferates in some countries that could be exported to earn foreign currencies. To sustain in energy, the countries should invest on nuclear energy so that they can dissuade oil and other fossil fuel import. Moreover, a country can make balance its internal energy supply as nuclear energy seduce shortfall of power. In other words, oil and gas surplus using alternative energy-nuclear energy in industrial use that save fuel for other motor vehicles.

In conclusion, though there are drawbacks of nuclear energy in terms of nations’ mindset and infrastructural preparation, fearing the extinction of fossil fuels, the nuclear technology has become an inevitable alternative solution to meet up the looming energy demand across the world.

To what extent is nuclear technology a danger to life on Earth? What are the benefits of its use?

While nuclear power possesses the capacity to devastate the planet, it has also proven beneficial as an energy source and in medical applications. Nuclear technology presents inherent risks that can pose a threat to life on Earth. Firstly, the potential for nuclear accidents, such as Chernobyl and Fukushima, demonstrates the catastrophic consequences that can result from the release of radioactive materials. These incidents have caused long-lasting environmental damage and health risks for nearby populations. Moreover, the proliferation of nuclear weapons raises concerns about global security and the potential for devastating conflicts. In contrast, it is very clear that the nuclear power plant offers multiple advantages to the public in terms of noise, energy supply and therefore does not conflict with the daily lifestyle of the local region.

In the next five decades, humanity will require more energy than has been used in the whole intervening period. Early forecasts about the rise of energy demand and the advancement of alternative energy technology have not come true: the pace of consumption is increasing even faster, although new energy sources will become readily available at reasonable rates no later than 2050. The shortage of fossil fuels is now more and more important than ever.

It also has a very good safety record as hundreds of nuclear power plants worldwide have been operating for more than fifty years without any serious accidents. Moreover, several nations are using nuclear energy as an alternative source to generate electricity as they don’t emit harmful gases that lead to acid rain or global warming. In fact, nuclear energy has saved many lives in the past, which may have been lost if we had built fossil-fuel plants instead of nuclear reactors.

One of the major threats of using nuclear power is the creation of radioactive wastes that might be an environmental issue. The radioactive materials might also be fatal. However, these nuclear power plants are built very carefully to prevent such releases. As a result, even the two worst nuclear accidents in history (Chernobyl and Fukushima) have harmed very few people in number compared to fossil fuel pollution.

Although nuclear fuel is not renewable like fossil fuels, they have high productivity with no geographical limitations. The sustainability of nuclear power is a very big concern as it will be an environmental tragedy if a dangerous crash occurs.

To reiterate, nuclear energy is a reliable and powerful source of electricity with zero emissions. Besides, nuclear energy is still more viable than fossil fuels and is relatively safe.

There is no denying the fact that nuclear power comes with massive potential that can be used positively to improve mankind. Nuclear technology has become one of the potent resources and fulfills the demands of people accordingly. In my opinion, nuclear power has demonstrated more benefits for constructive purposes for varying factors of life. I shall illustrate my perspective in the below paragraphs.

To begin with, there are plenty of advantages that can be gained by developing more nuclear stations. First and foremost, nuclear technology is extensively used in the fields of science and medicine, such as X-rays, to diagnose significant internal fractures and injuries. Another noteworthy example is radiotherapy that is universally used to cure patients suffering from deadly diseases, such as malignant cancerous tumours, and more.

In addition to this, the green power stations, being eco-friendly, do not have any contribution to air pollution. Moreover, it can be used to produce electricity without wasting any restricted natural resources, be it gas or coal. To represent it better, everybody knows that nuclear gas is a renewable resource and that it cannot go extinct; hence, it can be effortlessly used in diverse major sectors. With this gas, there will be no issues of carbon emission. Furthermore, this way, there will be no issues of climate change, or the air quality will not further deteriorate. Consequently, a lot of countries are comprehending to integrate nuclear power as the solution to high demands of gas, oil, electricity and decrease the issues with climate changes as well as pollution.

While it is true nuclear power is being used for negative factors too, such as nuclear bombs, the benefits it offers evidently surpass the drawbacks.

Conclusively, nuclear technology definitely has a lot of positive uses and provides a promising future. From my point of view, it would be better if this power is used for its true benefits and the betterment of the world.

Structuring an IELTS Writing Task 2 essay  is an important yet very confusing issue for many candidates. In this post we are focusing at this issue and try to learn what an IELTS Writing Task 2 structure/format/template really means and how to write a great answer to a Task 2 question using a simple structure. Every type of IELTS Writing Task 2 essay follows a particular structure. Some candidates, even some trainers, might consider learning about an essay structure a total waste of time. A structure works like a foundation for an IELTS Writing Task 2 essay . Think it like this: Do you remember drawing a picture in your early school days (primary level / Kindergarten level)? Remember how our art teachers taught us draw a picture of a house, a mouse or an aeroplane? First, we used to draw an outline or sketch of the picture. Consider the following picture of a house with a banana tree nearby .

In the first picture to your left, you can see the structure of the picture; and to your right, the second picture shows the complete picture with colours and small details that were drawn on the structure. Compare the pictures and see how the structure has helped the completed picture.

A structure in IELTS Writing Task 2 works just like this. It helps you to complete your Writing Task 2 essay easily, gives it a great shape and arranges it perfectly.

Here are the reasons why you should follow a writing structure:

• It controls your writing (250 words or more but not too many words).
• It helps you to complete your essay within the stipulated time (around 45 minutes).
• It makes the organisation clear (paragraphing).
• It gives ample time to arrange your ideas for the writing.
• It gives you confidence on writing the essay clearly.

Let’s take a look at a practical example:

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Nuclear technology should be used for constructive purposes.

Do you agree or disagree?

Use your own knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

You should write at least 250 words.

Now, take a close look at the question carefully. As you can see, the question wants us to agree or disagree with the issue, so we can say that this topic is an agree-disagree topic.

Now here is the structure for any agree-disagree topic in an IELTS Writing exam:

The world has come to know about the effects of nuclear technology since World War II. Nuclear energy has a destructive power and it can wipe out the human race in minutes. Keeping the negative effects in mind, I firmly agree with the statement as I strongly believe that this type of energy source can benefit us if we use it productively.

Initially, the prime reason why I agree with the statement is the potential of nuclear energy to produce massive energy. If we take a glance at some European countries, we can find the clear evidence of this. Countries like France, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary use this energy source to produce electricity and they have been quite successful regarding this sort of production. As of 2017, France has produced around 400,000 Gwh (Giga watt hours) of electricity from sustainable nuclear power source.

Additionally, a reason why nuclear technology can be immensely helpful is that it barely contributes to greenhouse gas emissions like fossil fuel burning does. This denotes less overall pollution to the environment as long as nuclear power facilities are properly maintained. As an example, many European and American countries have already used such energy source fruitfully to minimise pollution in their environment and the result been a reduced amount of contamination in the air and water, and fortunately, most of the nuclear plants in those countries are being operated without any kind of disaster.

In fine, nuclear technology undoubtedly contains many positive uses and presents lots of promises for the coming future. It can save our environment by declining pollution and producing electric and other types of energy. However, authorities of nuclear plants should be cautious about disasters that happened previously during the Second World War, Chernobyl and Fukushima; and only then nuclear technology can serve us in the best ways possible.
