Essential introduction to Moscow or "Funny stories about Stalin"

We started with the free tour on our first full day in Moscow. Our guide was Marina and she was obviously very passionate about history. The tour provides lots of background information about the city that would be difficult to acquire otherwise, especially for non-Russian speakers. It turns out there is a lot of nonsense written in guidebooks - Marina straightened everything out! We were sufficiently impressed to do a second tour in the evening ("Mystic Moscow" I think - this one is not free) in which Marina took us to some neighbourhoods mostly unknown to tourists but which have to a large extent been spared the massive redevelopment that has occurred around the Kremlin and St. Basil's etc. It was a very different side of Moscow that was well worth a visit.

Moscow Greeter

This free tour giuded by Elena was very usefull. Althoug I had visited Moscow earlier Ifound out a lot of new during the tour. Elena was cheerful and humorous. She paid enough attention to every guest and it was so pleasent. You could ask any question and get the answer.

I had Kate for my private tour and she was just a wonderful young lady that you could tell took here job seriously and was very knowledgeable about where she took you. She showed up at my hotel on time, actually a little early and we were off for an exciting day of sight seeing and riding the metro. I had already seen Red Square and Gum department stores so we skipped that. I had planned my own tour of five hours so if you do this be prepared to walk a lot, and I mean a lot and ride the metro. It was an interesting day of Russian history with all of its warts, so do not think you will just get the standard line. Kate was open and very truthful and just a wonderful person. I think I made a friend too. When you spend over 5 hours together you talk about a lot of issues. So, be prepared to walk, if you are not in that good of shape, like me, it was a little taxing. But pop a couple of ibuprofen before you go and you will be okay. And, be prepared for the crowding on the metro. There is no such thing as personal space on it. But overall, it was great, so just plunge in and enjoy the tour. You will not be disappointed.

critical thinking a student's introduction 6th edition answer key

Our tour guide Marina was fantastic - she met us on time and clearly knew her history well. The information flowed easily, and there was an obvious love for Moscow present in her guiding, which included the basics (Kremlin, Red Square, St Basil's), plus a few stories and other buildings too. The crowd was good and we easily made friends with one another - I ended up joining one other for the next 6 hours in the pub! Would recommend this tour

We did this the first morning we were in Moscow and did not regret it for a second. Elena was our tour guide and was amazing, we had a great time with her. She was engaging, very funny, and imparted a lot of information, she really knew her stuff. It was a great introduction, and orientation, to Moscow, and also gave us an opportunity to pick Elenas brain on a few things - she was very helpful. And it made the next few days in Moscow a little easier. I highly recommend this tour. We also did the metro tour with Elena, again she was entertaining and knowledgeable. We had a great time going from metro station to metro station. And since this is how we planned to get around Moscow, by metro, it was useful to get some tips on navigating the metro and Elena helped point out the stations close to landmarks for us.

In spite of freezing weather the tour was delightful and joyful! I would like to thank our guide Elena for showing us the hidden germs along with the famous attractions of Moscow!
