False Advertisements

If I should price 0 stars, I would. I used this website to create a resume, below the impact it'd be loose. In order to down load the resume, I needed to pay a $2 rate, which became satisfactory however not advertised till I had already spent an hour making the document.

A couple of weeks later, I got every other rate on my account. My financial institution notified me because it changed into unauthorized, and I needed to undergo the trouble of getting a new card, placing my account on pause, and so on.

I glaringly filed a dispute with my bank, and now resumenow.Com is making an attempt to offer evidence and say I legal this charge. I do no longer recognize why they must be so hard once they realize they are scamming human beings, however it clearly has left a awful flavor in a couple of peoples mouths. Save your self the hassle and do now not use this agency

Wouldn’t Recommend Resume Now!!

Resume Now is some BS… to begin with they say it’s absolutely loose to lure you to their web site. Then they let you know to pay $1.85 for a template that asserts it’s completely loose, however best in an effort to be mechanically signed up for a club in which they take $23.80 a month off your card automatically, then when I known as they said they are able to only give my 50% of my money lower back once they simply took the money the day past. It’s a rip-off and I wouldn’t advise them to no one. Do your resume your self you could’t believe those websites like Resume Now!!

Good service But Aware Monthly Fees Charges

I suppose the carrier is good for updating your résumé. I notion the fee turned into a one off fee, but I later observed out it was a trial only, and then I turned into being billed monthly I referred to as résumé.Com and they explained how the provider labored and that they offered to extensively lower the month-to-month service fee, which I felt changed into reasonable, I had the possibility to cancel altogether. The carrier person at the telephone changed into well mannered and expert, and I am glad with the outcome.

Great Concept But Site Needs Improvement

Decent application to build resumes and cover letters. Unfortunately the website lacks clarity on without difficulty maneuvering for editing functions. I had to use tech support which become a frustrating enjoy because of lag time and lack of awareness for his or her web site. I ended up figuring it out by myself at the same time as on the call. My different criticism is that the resume builder generates brilliant recommendations for wording however when you have it reviewed by means of their "experts" they factor out that the wording is simply too confusing. Well, it become their personal wording. I essentially re-wrote it on my own.

Wanted To Cancel My Membership

I simply desired to cancel my membership I did not even understand I signed up for after I printed out the resume they marketed as loose first of all. Thomas was candy and respectful and he did factor out what I could use the account for however he wouldn't take no for an answer I apprehend it is their task to keep members but if they have to also make it more clear that it's a routine price and while you pay to print out a "free" resume they must say you're additionally signing up for a membership.

You purchase to down load your resume for $8 bucks and one month later they price your $23. If you pay two greenbacks for downloading something why will you want to pay 23 euros every month? Enjoy my cash, I may not alternate my opinion and I am now not wasting my time contacting your "crew" for getting a reimbursement that in no way will come. Stay Away from this type of online business.

Dissatisfied on Cost Increase and Service Quality

The program itself was beneficial. Based on the cost for the base package, it is likely that you will have many more choices. The website also allows you to easily sign up. This is very difficult to remove yourself from the subscription. I've had to deal with this service previously and had to cancel my subscription. I took the decision to try it again to see if things had changed somewhat, however all that has changed is that prices have become much more costly. I'm dissatisfied by the services offered along with the design that surrounds the subscription model. If this business changed their payment arrangement vs. Services offered at this price, I'd reconsider my opinion. As it stands, I can only watch the costs increase and the quality of the services diminish. I won't be recommending this particular service to anybody I know.

Cannot cancel this service

My daughter signed up for this service. after some months she wanted to cancel this and spoke to a representative. She was offered a discount to stay and she declined and they said they would cancel her subscription. Four months on and she still has the money, $23.85, taken out of her account. We have telephoned multiple times and told the same thing they will cancel this but to no avail. We are now working with her bank to have the payments stopped, this company is a scam and cannot be trusted.

Scamming me for $25.00 with no Email receipt or notification

Don't use this slimy service , they steal fund from you with out any monthly email receipt or notification

Lots of hidden charges to create resume

The $33 I deposited overdrafts my account as I'm a university student in a poor financial situation, which I'm guessing that most students who build resumes do. It is 100% a HIDDEN FEE. It takes all trust off the website. I got a check for $3, but I was not warned about the auto draft. It's horrendous, and they know it, or they wouldn't make the mistake. I won't matter how simple and lovely my resume was when it came out. I will not be recommending this website to anyone but I will keep doing so.

Paid one time fee to resume now to get scammed

I paid $1.85 for a "one-time" resume fee which was understandable. Then they turned around and cost me $10 per month for access two weeks later, saying I had signed up for the monthly service and should have called to cancel. I never explicitly stated that on their Terms and Conditions then, I canceled immediately and contacted them. They did not want to refund me and claimed I was receiving the "Promotion" because it is generally $24 a month.

Anyone foolish enough to pay for the cost of a monthly resume maker? ??!! After I said this, the person told me that I had to stop being "Rude" he would end the conversation. My bank has been calling me to make the purpose of settling a dispute. The bank is scamming customers, and their customer support is an absolute fake. DON'T DO IT!

It cost me 823$ for nothing - Resume-now is a scam!

I recently discovered a series of unauthorized charges on my debit card, amounting to over $823, under the name BLD*RESUMENOW *******542. Over two weeks, I made numerous attempts to resolve this matter with their customer support. After threatening them on Reddit and filing disputes with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), they finally acknowledged that the charges were fraudulent and associated with a different account name.

However, despite admitting the fraudulent nature of the charges, they did not issue a refund for the unauthorized transactions. While I successfully filed a chargeback for four, I am still left with a substantial amount of $798.40 for the remaining charges dating back to 2018/2019. I rarely check this particular debit card account since I use it sparingly. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of regularly monitoring my accounts. Nevertheless, this company must be held accountable for failing to refund fraudulent transactions.

It is worth mentioning that this company operates under various URLs, merchant accounts, descriptors, and phone numbers. Some of the associated names include myperfectresume.com, livecareer.com, and bold.com.

The charged seems to much from resume now! I hope you got a refund

The resume-now helpful but surprised for their hidden charges.

I discovered this website through my business class, which provided helpful resume templates and guidelines. A small fee is required to access and print the completed resume and download it.

Initially, the process was straightforward, but to my surprise, I later found a $33 charge on my credit card for a monthly membership to the website.

I was unaware that there would be a recurring subscription fee, and despite repeatedly expressing my disinterest and intention to cancel, the person I spoke to on the phone insisted on highlighting the benefits of the subscription. The salesperson was overly persistent.

I requested a refund of $23 and the option to terminate the subscription, but I received a response that I needed to cancel. I hadn't utilized the site for a month, and the initial subscription cost was not disclosed, which is perplexing.

Ultimately, the website fulfilled its purpose and provided the assistance I needed, but the undisclosed expenses associated with it make it an unjustifiable expense.

Don’t use Resume-now.com if you need a resume! No refund!

Approximately six months ago, I used Resume-Now to create a resume. The platform claimed to be free, which I found appealing. I spent considerable time building my resume, only to discover that the final pdf was laden with watermarks and placed behind a paywall.

The cost was a modest 2-3 dollars, and considering the effort I'd invested, I paid the fee to access the resume I'd created. The alternative was signing up for a free trial, which I intended to cancel immediately after printing and saving my resume. I followed the cancellation procedure, and the system confirmed my successful cancellation.

Fast forward to the present day, I noticed a deduction of $23.85 from my bank account. I was shocked to find out that the charge was from Resume-Now. On visiting their website, I discovered that my account was still active. Further investigation revealed that I had made these payments for the past four months. Given that I'd only used the service once, I naturally sought a refund.

I attempted to cancel my subscription again. The system asked for confirmation multiple times, suggesting I add more services instead of canceling. Eventually, I received an email confirming my cancellation. I am sure I canceled the first time and was dismayed to see from reviews that I wasn't the only victim of this occurrence. Numerous other users reported that they continued to be charged unknowingly despite canceling.

After a tiresome dialogue with the billing department, I received a commitment to refund a single payment, even though they had initially agreed to refund only half. I received an email confirming the half-payment refund a couple of hours later. Although I'm relieved that the subscription is over and won't be charged any more, I'm wary and closely monitoring my account.

Resume-Now has misled numerous users, resulting in significant financial losses. There's an urgent need for the platform to be thoroughly investigated and held accountable for these actions.

Trade carefully with Resume now :/

My experience with Resume-Now was far from satisfactory. If there were an option to rate the service a zero, I wouldn't hesitate to do so. On the bright side, the resume they helped me create was tidy and professional-looking, which I obtained for a small fee of $2.45. At that moment, I was quite pleased with the service.

However, my contentment turned into disbelief when I discovered a monthly recurring charge of $24 on my account. It's baffling to find automatic payments set up for a resume builder, especially since I never logged back into resume-now.com after that initial use. Despite my efforts to cancel my subscription and request a refund, they turned a deaf ear to my pleas.

If you ever consider using Resume-Now, be extremely cautious and ensure to cancel any recurring payments immediately. Regrettably, I've come to view this company as untrustworthy. The silver lining in this ordeal was that I managed to dispute the charges with my credit card company, which graciously refunded my entire amount of $124.25. If you ever find yourself in a similar predicament, I'd advise contacting your bank, especially if you never agreed to any ongoing charges.

It's quite perplexing how resume-now.com charges different amounts from various people. A word to the wise, tread carefully with resume now

  • Useful (5) Wait...

What is the Resume-now.com refund policy? They charged me without knowing me, and I do not need resume-now services! Resume-now is a scam, and I am unsure why I can cancel my subscription. I thought it was just a one-time purchase. Their resumes are good, though.

Resume-Now left me feeling short-changed!

I had quite a frustrating encounter with Resume-Now. Out of the blue, I was taken aback to see a charge of $125 on my account. I was under the firm belief that I had chosen a more budget-friendly option.

To straighten this out, I reached out to their customer service. I waited patiently for 22 minutes online, only to be disconnected. I didn't give up and tried again, enduring another 20 minutes of listening to hold music, but I never got through.

The troubles didn't stop there. Even after resetting my email and password, their system seemed in a loop, behaving like my changes hadn't registered. It got so bad that I couldn't even log into their website from my laptop. My login was saved on my phone, but it became a dead end when I couldn't save my file or send it to my email.

All in all, my experience with Resume-Now left me feeling disappointed and short-changed. I had high hopes, but it didn't meet my expectations.

Resume-Now was a disappointing tool for me

Regrettably, my experience with Resume-Now was rather disappointing. I initially opted for a one-time payment plan advertised as valid for 14 days. A week into using the service, I found an unexpected charge of $23.85 on my card.

Promptly, I decided to cancel my subscription, only to be surprised by an additional $23.85 charge on my card a week after my cancellation. Despite my concerted efforts to secure a refund, my attempts fell on deaf ears.

I strongly advise prospective users to exercise caution before utilizing this service. My encounter with Resume-Now raised questions about potential financial discrepancies.

The overall experience left a sour taste; if possible, I would rate Resume-Now lower than one star.

Writing my resume always terrified me

Writing my resume always terrified me, I dont know how to be positive about myself, but on resume now it was so easy to do. The suggested pre-writren statements made it easier to find the words to describe the job and its qualifications. And there's a good selection of different formats and templates to choose from, and they're professional looking. I'm just waiting for the feedback from my resume review, which will help show my weaknesses and how I could come across better. I've never seen this feature on other similar sites, but I think it should be. What a great tool to be able to use.

If you are a very good writer, do not use any of the AI systems. I had to re-write everything and the templates were not helpful. If you wanted to remove sections from the template because it did not apply to your needs, you frequently could not. I had so many problems trying to just get a simple, professional, plain black and white resume that I gave up and downloaded a free open source version of Office.

Resuscitated Resume

Recently, after a recruiting session I was advised to refresh and update my résumé, I struggled to see why it was outdated. I searched “how to use AI for resumés”. I discovered that there WAS a better way using Resume Now! I simply uploaded my recent resumé (option for filling in manually too) and the sections populated the details for editing (Name, email, summary, experience, skills, education, etc). The most significant changes were the suggested wording options for job descriptions. This was very helpful for using keywords that are relevant for AI reviewed resumés on many employment platforms. I utilized some suggested descriptions but not all; I reviewed the ranging options for tone, similar details but some descriptions I used a hybrid approach.

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience with Resume Now! We're glad to hear that you found the AI-powered resume builder helpful in updating your resume and incorporating relevant keywords. We appreciate your feedback and are always striving to improve our features and make the resume creation process as efficient and effective as possible.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. I paid for the formate and it’s misleading. My resume was originally 1 page long, this format change made it 3 pages long! I had to download as a word doc then spent 2 hours editing because all the table formatting was messed up Don’t recommend at all

The rep was very professional and kind. He went above & beyond without me asking for anything additional. Took his time to explain what I was inquiring about.

Great cv tools bad customer service …

I made a cv on the site and you have to pay to dl or email your cv once done, which is fair as they provide great tools to help you build your CV . My 2 star rating is only because once your subscription ends you can’t re save or email the cv you originally downloaded and paid for unless you have an active account . I reached out to have my old cv shared with me yet they refused to do so and only offered a better deal on their subscription.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you found our CV tools helpful. To clarify, accessing features such as downloading, printing, or emailing your CV requires an active subscription. This policy ensures that we can continue providing high-quality tools and support. Once a subscription ends, access to these features is restricted, and unfortunately, we cannot provide access to previously saved CVs without an active subscription. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you need further assistance or have additional questions, please feel free to contact us directly at [email protected]. We are here to help and are committed to providing the best support possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience. Best regards, Customer Service Team

About the Company

Resume Now states it has been “helping people get jobs since 2005” . The company was founded with one goal — to assist people in landing an interview for their dream job in less time.

From text examples and tips to useful tools for crafting a resume and cover letter, Resume Now has been the top choice of over 10 million job seekers. Thanks to its easy-to-use features, it takes the guesswork out of the process and makes it streamlined.

Features & Materials

The research for our Resume Now review showed that the platform is very intuitive and easy to use. To start the resume creation process, you first need to choose a template. Then, you’ll be redirected to the editor and decide whether to build a document from scratch or transfer an old one into a new template.

Resume Now Templates

Resume Now has an impressive selection of over 60 free and premium templates. From traditional to modern style, all designs are eye-catching and crafted specifically to highlight your top achievements, skills, and qualifications. Throughout our Resume Now review, we’ll analyze all templates.

The clean and simple popular templates are suitable for any job. You can also find options designed specifically for positions in traditional fields like law and medicine. Then, the few modern templates are more suited for the technology sector. Finally, you can find several unique designs, a mix of professional and elegant.

Resume Now Builder

When you choose a template, you’ll have to provide personal information like name, address, email address, and phone number. Then you’ll be prompted to create an account. You can use your Google or Facebook account for convenience.

Once you complete the Resume Now sign-in process, you can add in your experience section. First, you need to provide essential information like job title, employer, city, and duration. Then, you can write more about what you did in your job posts.

You can also add some of the dozens of ready-to-use phrases or write your own description. Upon closer analysis of our Resume Now account review, we saw that the phrases are excellent. What’s more, only a small portion of them requires you to edit the fields highlighted in red.

Once you click “Continue,” you’ll get a summary of the information you’ve entered. You can edit or delete it, add a new experience, or continue to step three. You’ll have to detail your education, including the name and location of the school, degree, study field, and graduation date.

Next, Resume Now recommends the skills that match your job title, and you can select which describes you best. The system automatically pulls out four top skills and asks you whether you like to keep them or add your own. User statements in Resume Now reviews praise that as a very nice touch.

Resume Now Summary and Additional Sections

Resume Now gives you a few professionally-written summaries so you can choose the one that best describes your goals. Before finalizing your resume, you can choose to include the following additional sections:

  • Accomplishments
  • Activities and honors
  • Websites, portfolios, and profiles
  • Certifications
  • Additional Information

You can also add and name custom sections.

Resume Now Editor

Before saving or downloading your resume, you can see an overview. Resume Now offers a built-in spell-check tool that’s quite intuitive. You can also see a summary of all sections you’ve included and still opt to add a new one if you’ve missed something.

During the research for our Resume Now review, we learned that you could change your template, adjust the formatting, and change the color until you’re satisfied with your resume’s final look, even after writing your resume.

Resume Now Cover Letter Builder

The Resume Now cover letter builder is intuitive and easy to use. The tool guides you throughout the process and explains each section so you know what to include and highlight.

You’ll have to add details about your desired job position and employer, years of relevant experience, skills, and more. You get a few ready-made text sections for the opener, body, possible employment gaps, and closer. You can edit the information and the template as you go.

Resume Review Service

More than one review for Resume Now points out that if you aren’t sure if your resume or cover letter is well-crafted, you can get expert help. The expert reviewer will check the grammar, spelling, and formatting, highlight your most marketable skills, help you effectively present yourself, and stand out from the competition.

This service aims to improve your existing resume. You can get experts to polish your resume and optimize it with industry-specific keywords and relevant bullet points to showcase your job history and skills more compellingly to impress hiring managers. Resume Now review service is priced at $29.95. However, despite the excellent quality of the analysts’ work, some platforms offer a resume review for free. Comparing Resume Now with its alternatives, we can say the service is pricey.

Professional Writing Services

Besides offering an excellent resume builder, Resume Now provides professional writing services. You’ll be working with certified professional resume writers who will craft your resume in a way that showcases your values and strengths best.

Reviews of the Resume Now writing service state that the process is straightforward. You’ll need to input some basic information for your writer. Optionally, you can request a phone consultation.

Resume Now Jobs

The feature that enables you to match jobs to your resume is very convenient. It automatically filters the jobs and shows those that match your experience best.

Resume Now Price for Writing Services

Resume Now offers four pricing options for custom resume writing. Some alternatives provide a broader range of field-specific resume writing options—military-to-civilian, tech, career change resumes, and more. However, Resume Now has excellent service with fair pricing.

  • Entry Plan — It costs $99, and it caters to students who don’t have any work experience. The writers make sure to highlight your growth potential, quality, and relevant activities.
  • Professional Plan — Coming at $199, this writing service aims to help professionals, military people, and tradespeople score an interview with a well-polished resume. For our Resume Now review, we confirmed that the content focuses on showcasing result-oriented experience, career progression, and accomplishments.

Resume Builder Pricing

The platform allows you to build and download your resume in.txt format for free. However, to save it in a PDF format or Word or print it, you’ll have to choose one of the available Resume Now subscription options:

  • 14-day Access — It costs $2.85, and you get all premium features for the trial duration. Afterward, it automatically renews to a monthly subscription of $9.85.
  • Monthly Subscription — It’s $10.45 and comes with all premium features.
  • Annual Subscription   — If you pay $125.40 upfront for a yearly subscription, you’ll get a 2% discount and all premium features.

You can end the subscription at any time by submitting a Resume Now cancellation notice before the last day of the paid period by email, chat, or call.

Furthermore, all pricing plans include access to all professional designs, unlimited download, print, or email options in multiple formats, a free mobile app, and the cover letter builder.

Resume Now Refund Policy

Resume Now allows you to cancel your subscription at any time. That said, you’ll only get a refund if the cancellation of services is requested before the 14-day trial expires.

You should contact the customer department or access the online cancel page through your account settings to submit a cancellation request. Once the cancellation is processed, the company will send a confirmation email.

Considering the several Resume Now reviews reporting cancellation issues, we advise you to call customer service for assistance.

Customer Support

Resume Now offers phone, live chat, and email support. Phone support is available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 8 pm. On Saturdays, you can reach them between 8 am and 5 pm and from 10 am to 6 pm on Sundays.

Users share that upon calling the Resume Now phone number, they received a prompt answer. The agents are very polite and knowledgeable, providing clear explanations of the service features and valuable information on how to benefit from Resume Now in the long run.

Reaching out via live chat and email is also a pleasant experience. Agents respond to email inquiries within a day and almost immediately via live chat. However, keep in mind that the live chat works on schedule, so you might have to wait for an answer.

Alternatives to Resume Now

Resumewriter.

ResumeWriter offers a wider range of specialized packages and has a longer history. It’s a better-known service but costs about $50 to $100 more per plan, with no monthly subscription options.

The primary advantage of ResumeWriter is that it also offers professional LinkedIn packages. Learn more by reading our ResumeWriter review .

Zety Review

Resume Now Review — The Final Verdict

Resume Now is a great resume builder with a diverse selection of templates that fit the needs of entry-level job seekers and executives. Thanks to its intuitive editor, you can make a professional-looking resume in just 15 minutes.

What’s more, you can quickly craft a cover letter, too. One potential downside is the confusing “free service” — actually, you can only build your resume or cover letter for no charge, and then you’ll have to pay to access and use it.

The company also offers professional writing services. Although they’re a bit pricey, users, especially those looking for senior-level jobs or changing careers, will find them to be worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Resume Now is a legit resume builder that can help you craft a well-looking resume and cover letter to impress the hiring managers. The company offers a free resume and cover letter builder but states that you’ll have to pay to access, download, or use the documents. Some users find this practice misleading and complain about being charged a monthly fee. That can happen if you don’t read the subscription terms where the company states the trial plan will automatically renew after the end of the period.

You can request Resume Now to delete your account by logging into your profile. You should go to your setting and click on the “Resumes” or “Letters” tabs. Additionally, you can deactivate or delete your account through the “Overview” tab under “My Settings” on your account. Once you delete the account, your resume and profile won’t be visible to other users.

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Make sure to do so before the next billing cycle; otherwise, you won’t get a refund. Also, you can cancel your subscription before the trial period ends and get a full refund. To do so, you should contact the customer support department or do it by yourself through the cancelation page. You’ll need to log in and access your account’s settings.

Resume Now is marketed as a free resume builder. The company allows you to create your resume and cover letter for free, however, to access, download, or print your documents; you’ll have to pay a fee. Resume Now offers 14-day or monthly access at a discounted price and a monthly and yearly subscription. As mentioned previously in this Resume Now review, the only format you can download for free is TXT.

Resume-Now automatically subscribed me to their website after trial without consent

I needed a couple of templates for my resume to look plausible in this February and used the website Resume-Now. And I purchased two templates which I thought it was one-time purchase. Yesterday (Dec. 2022), I realized they monthly charged me $23.85 since then. I know I was dumb not to check carefully my credit card statements; however, they didn't send me any invoice or emails for my (unwanted) monthly subscription. Actually, they empathized it was an ONE-TIME purchase.

I contacted them and of course, they declined to give me full refunds. They only offered a half-month cost refund. Is there any way I can dispute this transaction to Chase?

Thank you in advance your replies and in any event, I would like to let you know RESUME-NOW is a completely fraudulent site. NEVER EVER USE THEM!

How to Find and Cancel Unwanted Online Subscriptions

These tips will help you end services you no longer need

a woman and a dog staring down at a phone with a maze between the subscription and the cancel buttons

Tired of paying for online subscriptions you no longer use but can’t quite figure out how to cancel? You’re not alone.

Streaming platforms like Netflix, cloud storage services like iCloud, and newspaper and music subscriptions often make it difficult to find the cancel function on their app or website. It’s also easy to simply forget about digital subscriptions you signed up for, especially ones started as free trials. Months can go by before you realize the provider is charging your credit card.

But it could soon be easier to end unwanted subscriptions. Last year the Federal Trade Commission proposed a “click-to-cancel” provision that would require companies to let you cancel subscriptions as easily as you were able to sign up. In the meantime, we have tips to help you find and then hit “cancel” quickly now.

1. Identify Your Subscriptions Check your credit card statements from the last year for recurring payments, says Tiffany Aliche, a financial educator and author. One easy way to do this is to use a subscription tracking tool, such as Rocket Money or OneMain Trim, which finds and then helps you cancel subscriptions you no longer want. (Caveat: You may need to grant these tools limited access to your accounts, so read their privacy policies carefully.)

2. Opt Out of Apps To see a list of the apps you’re currently paying for through Apple Pay, open the App Store on your smartphone and click on “Account,” then “Subscriptions.” From there, you can click “cancel” on those you no longer want. (The steps are similar for the Google Play store.) For canceling other subscriptions, search Google for step-by-step instructions (e.g., “how to cancel a Netflix subscription”).

3. Keep Track of Discounted or Free Trial Periods When you hit “cancel” on a subscription, it’s common for services to offer you a “don’t go!” free extension or discount for a limited amount of time. If you decide to take them up on it, set a calendar alert for two or three days before the end date of the promotion to remind you to take action. The same goes for any free trial subscriptions you may sign up for. Alerts will help you juggle multiple trials at a time.

The Dawn of Digital Resume Building

The advent of digital technology has significantly revolutionized the resume creation field. Gone are the days of one-size-fits-all, text-heavy resumes. Today, platforms like Resume-Now represent a new era where customization, design, and content strategy play pivotal roles. These services aren't just about listing skills and experiences; they're about crafting a narrative that resonates with recruiters in a digitally dominated world. This evolution signifies a major shift in how job seekers approach the daunting task of resume writing, turning it into an intuitive and guided experience.

Bridging the Gap between Job Seekers and Employers

The role of services like Resume-Now extends beyond mere resume formatting. They act as a bridge, connecting the language and expectations of job seekers with those of potential employers. In an age where applicant tracking systems (ATS) often determine the fate of a resume, these platforms ensure that resumes are not only visually appealing but also optimized for such systems. This alignment with both human and technological aspects of job application processes underscores the critical value these services offer in the modern job market.

The Impact of AI and Customization in Resume Services

A significant advancement in this field is the incorporation of AI and machine learning. Platforms like Resume-Now leverage these technologies to offer personalized recommendations, suggesting action verbs, skills, and even job-specific phrases. This level of customization was unheard of in the traditional resume-writing process. The integration of AI not only enhances the quality of the resumes but also democratizes professional resume writing, making it accessible and affordable for a broader spectrum of job seekers. This technological leap has fundamentally changed the landscape of resume building, making it more efficient and tailored to individual career paths.

Resume-Now : A Detailed Exploration of Its Services and User Experiences

The Service Spectrum of Resume-Now

Resume-Now offers a variety of services that cater to the needs of job seekers. The platform is known for its resume review service, where experts analyze and enhance resumes by correcting grammar, spelling, and formatting while also emphasizing marketable skills. This service aims to present candidates more effectively to potential employers. Additionally, Resume-Now provides professional writing services , where certified resume writers craft resumes that highlight the user's values and strengths best. The process is straightforward, often including an optional phone consultation.

User Experiences and Concerns

While Resume-Now is praised for its professional-looking resumes and the convenience it offers, users have reported concerns regarding the platform's pricing and subscription model. Several reviews have highlighted issues with unclear subscription fees and difficulties in canceling subscriptions. Users have expressed frustration over being charged after believing they had canceled their subscriptions or being unaware of the automatic renewal of their trial periods into monthly subscriptions. These experiences suggest a need for greater transparency and ease in managing subscriptions on the platform.

Customer Support and Online Presence

Despite the challenges with subscription and billing, Resume-Now's customer support has been noted for being responsive and helpful. They offer support through phone, live chat, and email, with agents known for providing clear explanations and assistance. Online, Resume-Now boasts strong ratings on platforms like Trustpilot and Sitejabber, indicating a generally positive reception from a large number of users. However, the mixed reviews underline the importance of users being vigilant about subscription details and ensuring clear communication with the service provider regarding billing and subscription terms.

Half-split screen showing a modern resume on one side and the AI Resume interface with templates on the other. Cool blues and grays highlight professionalism in resume building.

Resume Building and Customization

Resume-Now offers a resume builder with various professional templates, boasting a user-friendly interface and a range of customization options. The process of building a resume is quite intuitive, starting from selecting your experience level to choosing a template format. Users can add personal details, work experience, education, skills, and a summary. The AI feature in Resume-Now suggests skills based on your job title, which I found particularly helpful. It allows for adding additional sections such as accomplishments, certifications, and more. The option to change templates and adjust formatting even after completing your resume adds flexibility to the process. Personally, I appreciated the automated suggestions and the ability to see real-time changes on the resume.

Resume Review and Professional Writing Services

The platform provides a resume review service where experts evaluate and polish your resume, optimizing it with industry-specific keywords. This service, priced at $29.95, is effective but relatively expensive compared to some free alternatives. Additionally, Resume-Now offers professional writing services, working with certified resume writers. These services are streamlined and consider various factors like the current job market and key qualifications. As a user, I found the professional touch in these services quite impressive, especially how they cater to different experience levels with their Entry, Professional, and Executive plans.

Cover Letter Builder and Job Search Functionality

The cover letter builder in Resume-Now is straightforward, guiding users through each section of the cover letter. It offers ready-made text sections for various parts of the letter, which users can edit to suit their needs. Additionally, Resume-Now features a job search functionality, enabling job searches using titles, keywords, and geographical locations. This feature is convenient as it matches jobs with your resume, showing positions that align with your experience. In my opinion, this integrated job search functionality is a standout feature, making the platform more than just a resume-building tool.

User Experience and Customer Support

Resume-Now's customer support receives acclaim for its accessibility via phone, email, and live chat, known for its prompt and helpful responses. Nevertheless, issues with payment and subscription transparency have been noted by some users. From my experience, the support was quite efficient, but I did notice the need to pay careful attention to subscription details to avoid unexpected charges.

Overall Assessment

Resume-Now provides a comprehensive suite of tools that cater to various needs of job seekers, from resume building to professional writing services. The platform's ease of use, combined with its range of features, makes it a strong contender in the field of resume services. However, users should be mindful of the subscription and payment structures to ensure they get the most out of the service without unwanted expenses. My personal experience with the platform was largely positive, especially appreciating the professional-quality templates and the job-matching feature.

Resume Now Review & pricing

Resume-Now offers various subscription options for its resume builder. The 14-day Access plan is available for $2.85, providing all premium features, and automatically renews to a monthly subscription at $9.85 after the trial period. For ongoing use, there's a Monthly Subscription at $10.45 per month, which includes all premium features. Alternatively, the Annual Subscription costs $125.40 and also includes all premium features, making it a cost-effective option for long-term users.

Personal Opinion on Resume-Now's Pricing Transparency

While Resume-Now offers a range of subscription options, a point of concern is the transparency of their pricing. It's somewhat disconcerting to realize that the actual costs only become apparent after one has invested time in preparing a resume. This approach can be frustrating, especially for users who are cautious about their budget and prefer to know the financial commitments upfront. A more transparent pricing display before users start the resume-building process would significantly enhance the user experience and trust in the service.

Diverse group brainstorming around a screen with colorful, inclusive resume designs, in a creative workshop environment, symbolizing collaborative template development.

Transparency in Pricing

Many users, including myself, have found the pricing structure on Resume-Now to be unclear. The site often reveals costs only after a resume is prepared, which can be surprising and frustrating. This lack of upfront pricing information could be improved to enhance user experience and trust.

Enhanced User Interface for Intuitive Navigation

The user interface, though functional, could benefit from further refinement. More intuitive navigation and clearer guidance throughout the resume-building process would make it more accessible, especially for less tech-savvy users.

More Diverse and Inclusive Template Options

Diversity in template designs and formats is another area for improvement. Offering a wider range of culturally inclusive and industry-specific templates would cater to a more diverse user base, enhancing the overall appeal of the service.

Diverse group engaging with devices showing Resumes, depicting various resume-building stages, set in a modern digital environment.

Ease of Use for Beginners and Experienced Users

Resume-Now's platform is notably user-friendly, making it a suitable choice for both beginners and experienced job seekers. Its straightforward process, coupled with AI-driven suggestions, simplifies the resume-building experience. This feature is particularly advantageous for those who are not familiar with the nuances of resume writing or who may be creating a resume for the first time. Even for seasoned professionals, the ease of navigating through the platform and customizing various aspects of the resume makes it a time-efficient tool.

Automated Templates and Industry-Specific Customization

The platform offers automated templates with clean designs and modern themes, which are beneficial for users across various industries. The automated industry-specific templates cater to a wide range of job titles, eliminating the need for tedious manual adjustments. This aspect of Resume-Now is particularly useful for users who may not have in-depth knowledge of industry-specific resume standards. The AI tool's ability to scan for specific keywords relevant to job descriptions further enhances its utility for both inexperienced and experienced users.

User Interface and Navigation

Before choosing Resume-Now, consider the user interface and its ease of navigation. While the platform is generally user-friendly, some users have reported challenges in navigating through the different sections and finding specific features. It's important to explore the interface to ensure it meets your comfort level with technology and that you can easily find and use the necessary tools for your resume creation.

Template Variety and Customization

Also, assess the variety and customization options of the templates provided by Resume-Now. While there is a range of templates available, your specific needs may require more unique or industry-specific designs. Understanding the extent to which you can customize these templates to suit your personal and professional profile will help you determine if Resume-Now can adequately support your job application process.

Feature Relevance and Effectiveness

Lastly, evaluate the relevance and effectiveness of the features offered by Resume-Now. Some users have found certain tools like AI-driven skill suggestions and resume checkers particularly useful, while others may not find these features as beneficial. Consider how these tools align with your current resume-building needs. Are they sophisticated enough to enhance your existing resume, or are they more suited for beginners who are starting from scratch?

After thoroughly exploring and analyzing Resume-Now, I have mixed overall impressions. On the one hand, the platform offers an easy-to-use interface with a variety of templates, which can be highly beneficial for those new to resume writing or in need of a quick, professional-looking resume. The AI-driven suggestions for skills and the ability to customize templates are notable positives. However, the experience is marred by concerns over transparency in pricing and subscription management. Users frequently report unexpected charges and difficulties in canceling subscriptions, which can be a significant drawback. These issues, coupled with mixed reviews on customer service effectiveness, suggest that while Resume-Now has the potential to be a valuable tool, users should proceed with caution and be vigilant about understanding the terms of service and managing their accounts. The platform could be a good fit for users who need basic resume-building tools and are aware of and comfortable managing the subscription aspects.
