Allama Iqbal Open University, the largest university of Asia in distance education, which primarily focuses on the educational needs of masses by providing quality education at their doorsteps all over the country and by blurring spatial and temporal boundaries. Currently, the university offers unique educational opportunities to a huge proportion of 1 million students in a diverse and dynamic range of programs starting from Matriculation to the PhD level.

The University exclusively focuses on enhancing female literacy ratio in the country so that women can perform their vital role in the process of national progress and development. The main objectives of the University as enunciated in the Act are as under:

Allama Iqbal Open University Extends Autumn 2024 Admission Deadline Date

Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), announced on Tuesday an extension for admissions into the Autumn 2024 semester programs.

According to AIOU, the new deadline for applications for BS (Face-to-Face), PGD programs, and certificate courses has been extended to September 5, 2024, with no late fees. Admissions for Matric, FA, and I. Com programs will also continue until this date.

However, there will be no extension for MS, MPhil, and PhD programs, as the admission tests are already scheduled from August 22 to 24.

Dr. Malik Taqeer Ahmad Khan, Director General of Regional Services, has instructed all university campuses to widely publicize this extension.

Final exams for Matric, FA, and I. Com will commence on September 2, with further details available on the university’s website and student portals. Strict measures, including a ban on mobile phones in examination halls, will be implemented to maintain exam integrity.
