Academic and workplace dishonesty on Fiverr

This article aims to clarify what constitutes "academic and workplace dishonesty" while guiding you on handling users engaged in such services.

As stated in Fiverr’s Community Standards , Fiverr strictly prohibits any form of academic or workplace dishonesty, including the commissioning of work that will be presented as the individual's own effort. To that extent, Fiverr does not allow any services that offer to complete tasks—such as homework or job screening assignments—that are expected to be fulfilled without assistance from external sources.

Prohibiting services related to academic and workplace dishonesty, including completing assignments or providing false academic or job credentials, is crucial to Fiverr for several reasons:

  • Upholding the integrity of academic institutions It ensures that the value of education is maintained, promoting a fair environment where individuals are assessed based on their genuine efforts and capabilities.
  • Protecting the reputation of academic institutions Academic institutions are esteemed for their commitment to knowledge, research, and learning. Allowing services that promote academic dishonesty can tarnish the reputation of these institutions and disrupt public trust in the value of education.
  • Fostering learning and skill development Assignments, exams, and other academic or job-related tasks are designed to promote learning and skill development. Bypassing these activities through external services undermines educational and workplace processes, hindering the growth of essential skills and knowledge.
  • Ensuring fair evaluation Academic and workplace assessments are meant to evaluate an individual's understanding and mastery of a subject. Using external services to complete assignments or exams misrepresents one's capabilities and compromises the fairness of the evaluation process.
  • Preventing fraudulent practices It ensures that academic and workplace achievements and qualifications are accurately represented, maintaining the trust and credibility of educational and workplace systems.
  • Encouraging personal responsibility Completing assignments independently fosters a sense of personal responsibility and accountability. It encourages individuals to take ownership of their education or job and actively engage in the learning process.

We expect our users to follow the honor code or policy of their academic institution or workplace when requesting an academic or job-related service.

  • You can order tutoring services from a freelancer to enhance your knowledge in a specific subject.
  • You can share a completed document—such as a project paper, essay, or dissertation—for proofreading by a freelancer.
  • Don't request a service that would contribute to or complete an assignment that is expected to be completed without assistance, including homework, completion of exams or tests, writing dissertations, theses, research papers, research proposals, job application assignments, or assignments on any academic subject.
  • Don't ask freelancers to perform academic institution application services, such as writing university or college applications or statements of purpose. (Proofreading or guidance through the application process is allowed.)

Do If a buyer requests a service related to academic dishonesty or homework:

  • Do inform them that the requested service is strictly prohibited on Fiverr.
  • Do offer an alternative (if it’s within your scope of services), such as online tutoring for the specific subject or proofreading of completed work.

If you encounter behavior or content violating this policy, please report it.

  • Don't offer or agree to provide any assignment expected to be completed without assistance, including homework, completion of exams or tests, writing dissertations, theses, research papers, research proposals, job application assignments, or assignments on any academic subject.
  • Don't offer or agree to provide academic institution application services, such as writing university or college applications or statements of purpose. However, proofreading and guidance through the application process are allowed.

Any violation of this policy may lead to an account warning and potential suspension of your account. For more details on H ow we Enforce Policies .

The Best Platforms to Get Work as a Freelance Writer

  • By Jodi Price
  • November 25, 2020

Maybe you’ve just entered the world of freelancing, or maybe you’re looking for your next big client. Wherever you are in your career, it pays to know where to look for work. Luckily for you, we’re living in a golden age of sorts for freelancing. In 2019, 57 million people worked as freelancers in the U.S. That’s up from about 53 million in 2014. In that time, multiple websites, job boards, and platforms have emerged to help freelancers get matched with clients. Now, you don’t have to spend as much time doing the “unpaid” work of looking for your next assignment. Instead, you can log onto a platform or access a website and bid on jobs. In some cases, the jobs even come to you. Many freelancing platforms are designed for writers and designers. But there are also plenty of opportunities out there for freelance developers, bookkeepers, marketers, and other types of consultants. You can even be a freelance scientist. This list isn’t exhaustive, but below are a few of the best platforms you can use to find work as a freelance writer, as well as expand your talents to other fields if you choose!

Fiverr is one of the most popular freelancing platforms out there. It hosts millions of freelancers from across the globe, and 2.4 million customers bought services there in 2019. Clients go to Fiverr to look for freelancers skilled in writing, programming, graphic design, digital marketing, animation, music, and much, much more — there are over 300 categories for digital services. To become a seller on Fiverr , all you have to do is choose a username and fill out some basic information about your skills and expertise. You’ll be able to create a profile, which will serve as your window to the Fiverr buyer community. Next, you can create your first gig. This is the service that you’ll sell on the Fiverr platform. It could be something along the lines of “Writing a Case Study,” “Copyedit Your E-Book,” “Spellcheck Your Resume,” or something else related to your field. You can create multiple gigs, too. Once you’ve established yourself, you can gain recognition and earn more by becoming a Top Rated Seller or a Fiverr Pro. In fact, Fiverr Pros are considered the “Best of the Best” that Fiverr has to offer, and being accepted into this group requires a separate application process . If you can work your way up to becoming a Fiverr Pro, then you’re definitely considered a premium writer!

Founded in 2014, ClearVoice is a content marketing platform that connects freelance writers, editors, designers, videographers, and content strategists with agencies and brands. The platform enables brands to fully outsource their content efforts, and every assignment is managed by either ClearVoice staff members or a freelance producer on the platform. ClearVoice freelancers produce various types of content, such as blog posts, articles, white papers, infographics, and web copy. The platform prioritizes freelancers who have experience with particular verticals , such as business, finance, and healthcare, but they’ve added tons of other categories recently. ClearVoice vets every freelancer who applies to be a part of their network. But your first step is to create a CV (curriculum vitae), which you can do for free without any vetting. You can use your CV like a portfolio or a personal website with no strings attached. If you decide to apply to ClearVoice’s network, you’ll need to fulfill some basic requirements on your CV. Once your CV is considered complete, just hit the “Apply” button, and someone at ClearVoice will review your work. If they like what they see, you’ll be added to the network, and you’ll start being matched with opportunities.

Being a freelance writer means being your own business, and there’s no better place for business than LinkedIn . While most professionals use the platform to network and build a resume, you can also use it as a tool for finding freelance work. Your first step should be to build out your profile. You’ll need a professional headshot, a headline, a summary, links to your published work, and descriptions about any relevant work experience. Linkedin has also added a feature that allows you to sell services through the platform. You can do so wright in your profile summary. You can also adjust your settings to show recruiters that you’re open to job opportunities. Once your profile is complete, get active on LinkedIn. Share links to your most recent work, respond to other people’s posts and publish your own LinkedIn articles. To find work on LinkedIn faster, connect with people who need your skills. Ask other people in your network for referrals and respond quickly to anyone who inquires. You can even search for freelance work using LinkedIn’s search bar or browse the LinkedIn jobs board for freelance gigs.

Freelance Writing Jobs

Freelance Writing Jobs was started by freelance writer Deb Ng, originally as a blog and a job posting site. Since then, it’s grown into one of the most popular websites for finding freelance writing work. The job board on Freelance Writing Jobs gets updated almost daily with new opportunities. You can search for jobs by keyword and location, and you can sort them based on time requirements. To apply for a job, simply click on the ad and follow the guidelines provided by the client. Some clients prefer you to fill out an external application form. If not, the website will provide an application form at the bottom of the job listing.

When most people think of freelancers, they probably think of writers, designers, coders, or consultants. Founded in 2015, Kolabtree is a freelancing platform unlike any other — it’s designed specifically to connect organizations with freelance scientists and researchers from around the world. However, if you have a knack for medical writing and research, this is definitely the platform for you. Kolabtree has a high bar of entry compared to other platforms. They only accept “PhD-qualified experts.” But if you’re a scientist or researcher looking to get your name out there or make some extra money on the side, there’s no better place to look for freelance writing work.

Craigslist gets a bad rap. It’s more-or-less unmoderated, so almost anyone can post an ad for a job on there. Although Craigslist has taken some steps to make the site more secure, you must be careful about information you share on the platform. That said, there are still plenty of freelance writing opportunities. Craigslist sorts its job categories based on the type of freelancing expertise required, such as writing/editing, so it’s easy to find opportunities that match your skills. Some of the jobs you find on Craigslist may even be better paying than the ones you find on other platforms. If you find a client who is a good fit, you could even build a long-term partnership with them. When applying for jobs on Craigslist, prioritize ads that include a company name or website. If these aren’t present, you should verify who posted the ad before you provide them with any sensitive information. A good ad should have plenty of details about what type of freelancer they’re looking for, what expertise they need, and what volume of work they’re prepared to throw your way. Finally, don’t hesitate to ask about pay if they don’t list it in the ad. There’s no reason to sell yourself short when there are so many other opportunities available.

Don’t Wait for Freelance Work to Come to You

The key to being a successful freelancer is often hustling to find your next assignment, but it doesn’t have to be a chore. The sites listed here can make it easier for you to find work quickly.

After all, you don’t get paid to look for freelance work; you get paid to do freelance work, so get out there and start searching!

Writing Jobs from Fiverr: A Guide to $50 Writing Gigs

Fiverr is a unique website based on a simple idea. You say what you’ll do for $5. Buyers then pay you to do just that. If you want a steady income from short writing jobs, it might be just what you’ve been looking for.

The surprise is that you can earn much more than $5 per task.

In fact, my biggest order has been $140. My average is $16.

Here’s how I do it.

By making a few changes, your Fiverr orders will go from $5 to $15 and even $50. And if you’re not already on Fiverr, these tips may convince you to start selling. (To learn more about Fiverr, read our previous guide. )

How I Made $140 with One Fiverr Gig

I started out by mostly writing bios in the 100–250 word range for $5 each. Along the way, I had a few clients tell me they had been unsatisfied with other Fiverr writers. These clients liked my work, so they left good feedback. This put me in a great place in terms of popularity, and soon I was taking on several Gigs at a time. However, I was still only making $5 per assignment.

So late last year, I decided to take a break from Fiverr to pursue other writing jobs. That didn’t last too long. Two months later, in need of a paycheck, I returned, but I did so with an adamant promise to propel my income. To start with, I took a look at what some Top–Rated Sellers were doing, and lo-and-behold, one seller held the answer.

I saw that the seller, Nystrele , also offered bio writing, but his approach was drastically different from mine. When I saw his page, I was stunned. His take on Fiverr opened my eyes and single–handedly helped my revenue skyrocket.

So what’s the secret?

For $5, Nystrele provides “a robust 2–3 sentence summary.” Instead of the whole meal for five bucks, he offers an appetizer. The good stuff is in the Gig Extras, where he charges up to $100 for longer bios. And even though tons of other sellers will write full bios for $5, Nystrele’s sales are flourishing, and he’s backed by a glowing 4.8 rating from over a thousand buyers.

That’s the kind of money I wanted to make, and I quickly changed my pricing structure. I now also offer a 2–3 sentence bio for $5, and my rate for a 250 word bio is $55. It’s a win-win all around––I get a bigger slice of the pie, and the clients I work with tend to be more serious. This simple strategy was solely responsible for a massive spike in my income, and since then, Fiverr has become a trustworthy stream of revenue for me.

And here’s the best news of all: You can do the same thing.

How You Can Be a Fiverr Champion

Fiverr’s platform for sellers is arranged so that the basic $5 Gig appears to be the most important thing. However, if you want to get the most out of Fiverr, you need to think the other way around.

The big secret lies in Gig Extras, the add-ons that you can offer to complement your Gigs. Fiverr markets them as just that: add-ons. However, Gig Extras are the secret weapon to making real money on Fiverr. They should be called Gig Necessities, as they’re anything but extras.

I’ll walk you through one of my own Gigs so you can get a feel for the finer details of this pricing method. One of my most popular Gigs is called “I will write original website content for you.” After I pitch myself to the client in the Gig description, I explain the prices. $5 will get them an outline with ideas and terms specific to their area of work. When they need more––and they almost always do––they take a look at my Gig Extras. Here’s a breakdown of my Extras for that Gig:

– $10: Thorough research of an agreed–upon topic

– $20: Write up to 100 words of original content

– $50: Write up to 250 words of original content

That’s what my clients are often looking for, and nine times out of ten, they’re more than happy to pay for it. I treat my $5 Gig as a brief consultation, so the $20 price range is where the work really starts. I do offer a $10 Extra that looks like a good deal, but it won’t do much good unless the client purchases the $20 or $50 service. Everything on my page is geared toward making at least $25 (basic Gig order of $5 plus a minimum $20 extra). Without even knowing so, the client is being persuaded.

The Appearance of Choice

You can easily modify this pricing structure to suit your niche. Maybe you specialize in writing product copy. For $5, you could provide a two-sentence description of the client’s product. If they need more than that––and they almost always do––they can look at your Gig Extras, where a 100-word description costs, say, $25.

The key here is to give the client the appearance of choice while implicitly guiding them to a minimum amount, as I do on my page by offering an Extra that’s no good with the basic $5 gig. For the Extra to really produce results, the client needs to purchase more.

In the same way, you should gear everything on your Gig page to a specific financial goal. One way is to use the Extra technique I described. Another way is to use comparative pricing. Say the client sees these two Extras on your page:

– I will write 75 words of ad copy for you ($20)

– I will write 100 words of SEO optimized ad copy ($30)

The client is much more likely to choose the second Extra. It’s a nice, round number (100 looks a whole lot bigger than 75 on paper), the ad copy is SEO optimized, and it’s only $10 more. This subtly persuades your client to invest at least $35 in your services.

And that’s the big secret to making the most of Fiverr. By placing the real work in the Extras and directing attention toward them, your average Gig sale will rise far above five bucks.

Start Low, Aim High

To guarantee results, I recommend starting with lower prices. This was a vital precursor to my Fiverr success and helped build my brand. Of course, you can skip this step if you see fit, but clients might be a bit hesitant to purchase a $50 Gig from a seller with only a few reviews.

As I mentioned, I started out by selling lots of $5 Gigs, and the reviews I got from those Gigs helped build my reputation. That’s one reason my clients are so willing to pay premium prices for something they can get for $5 elsewhere. They see that others have confirmed my quality, and that helps them decide to invest in my services.

Even though it doesn’t pay off immediately, it might be better in the long run if you start by pricing your services on the lower end. $10 for a 100–word biography might not seem like a lot, but after you complete several of those Gigs, you can raise your prices and have great reviews to back you up. The good feedback you receive early on will communicate quality to future clients who will pay good money.

No matter where you start, you can use this strategy to turn Fiverr into a serious source of income. If you’re not currently on Fiverr, I would recommend trying it out for a little. Though you do have to wait 2 weeks after a Gig to get paid, in some cases it’s well worth it. Whether you’re new to the site or a veteran seller, by using the pricing technique I’ve described, you will not only make more money than other sellers, but also have a rhetorical advantage over your competition.

10 Steps To Become A Freelance Writer On Fiverr And Make Money

Are you thinking of becoming a freelance writer on Fiverr and earn some extra income from home?

In this post, I am going to cover ten steps that will help you become a content writer on Fiverr even if you have never tried it before.

But before that, make sure to open an account on Fiverr to follow along with me.

assignment writer on fiverr

Here are the steps to become a freelance writer on Fiverr.

Step 1: Narrow Down Your Service

When you are writing on Fiverr it is important to narrow down your options since there are plenty of writers out there.

Offering a writing service in a wide niche may no attract a lot of buyers since they will most likely choose a freelance with a lot of positive reviews.

However, if you narrow it down to a specific niche like fashion, finance, fiction, food, etc you will a good chance of getting more eyeballs to your gig.

In addition to that, you will also be able to cut down on research time when you work on a single niche or industry.

Step 2: Optimize Your Profile And Gig

It is crucial to create a Fiverr profile that looks professional and an SEO optimized gig as they are the foundation to become a successful content writer on Fiverr.

You can create a professional-looking Fiverr account by writing a good profile description and uploading a photo of yourself or something related to your service.

And writing a Fiverr gig that is SEO friendly is not complex. All you have to do is understand what your successful competitors are doing and model their success.

I have covered an article on how to write a Fiverr gig title here and you can find some examples of gig tile and profile description below:

  • Fiverr gig title examples
  • Fiverr profile description examples

Doing the above two steps will definitely get you orders on Fiverr.

Now let’s see how to complete the order successfully and make money from Fiverr as a writer.

Step 3: Learn To Research

Remember nothing is original. Even ideas that seem to pop from nowhere in our heads are a result of interactions of things we learned before.

There is so much information and ideas out there.

When you want to write on a topic, as a content writer, it is better to research on that topic as much as you can before you write.

This process will not take you a lot of time if you are writing in a niche that you are already familiar with or passionate about.

Step 4: Outline your work

Once you have gathered enough information, the next step is to come up with an outline for your article.

In some cases, you will receive specific instructions on how you should structure the article in the requirement section that you had asked for. In such scenarios, follow the outline provided by the buyer.

If you did not receive any specific instruction on the article structure, I would recommend you create a framework before writing.

Answer questions like –  will this content include a headline? If so, how many?

And what will they be?

Who am I writing for?

How many words do you intend to write?

The outline is not meant to constrain you, it should only serve as a guide and can change during the process.

After you have outlined your content, it will be easy to write as the content is now divided into multiple sections.

Step 5: Avoid Distraction

This may sound a bit out of topic but it is one of the important factors to complete the work on time.

Also to write meaningful work that can resonate with the readers, you need to starve yourself of unnecessary distractions that will affect your thought process and hurt your chances of producing high-quality content.

Step 6: Proofread and Edit

Editing is not the most fun part of writing but it is vital. Content writers around the world estimate that they spend roughly 75% of their writing time on editing.

Proofreading is important especially if you intend to write as a freelancer on Fiverr since y incorrect grammar and spelling mistakes can affect your ratings.

Fortunately, you can use any of the proofreading software like Grammarly and fix errors while writing.

As an alternative, you can ask someone else to read it once and fix any errors before you deliver the content.

Step 7: Be kind to yourself

The world of content writing is characterized by deadlines and writer’s block.

It is easy to feel pressurized by the effort to meet your standards and that of your client.

While this pressure is good because it helps to keep you focused, avoid overthinking and overanalyzing.

Doubting your abilities only reduces your effectiveness. When you experience a block, accept it, relax, and work your way out of it.

Content writing is a creative process, not a mechanical one!

Step 8: Learn from the pros

It is good practice to share your work with friends and families.

However,  if you want to improve you need to interact with other content writers through support groups, or social media platforms like Facebook groups, Twitter, or LinkedIn.

Try to establish a rapport before you seek help.

Step 9: Writers are Readers

No doubt about this.

You will never see a writer who doesn’t read a lot. Cultivate the habit of reading books.

There are many ways you can read today. Find what works for you. Reading will help you imbibe writing styles from other writers.

Step 10: Sell yourself

Finally, to become a content writer on Fiverr, you will need to promote your service to the relevant audience.

Take the giant step to apply for volunteer writing, or open a writing portfolio on free platforms like medium.com or create a Quora space.

You can also take it to the next level by launching your own blog.

It’s when you take some giant leaps that push you out of your comfort zone that’s when you truly grow.

It’s always tough to get the first client in any industry but once you get it, it’s a snowball effect.

These are the steps to become a freelance writer on Fiverr and make money from your home.

You can get started on Fiverr as a writer at any given time and nothing is too late. The important factor to become a successful freelance writer on Fiverr is your quality of work.

Building a Content Marketing Team on Fiverr

It doesn't matter if you're a startup or an enterprise, you need a superb content marketing team in order to thrive as a business. But how can you build one at an affordable price? Frequently, companies waste money on hiring full-time employees to cover things like social media, blog content, and paid media, but with Fiverr, you can curate a content marketing team to your exact needs while saving money. An effective content marketing team comes down to the value of your players, so to give you an idea of where to start, here's how you can build an all-star content marketing team on Fiverr:

Which Freelancers Do You Need to Power Your Content Marketing?

To start, there are few roles you need to lay the foundation of your content strategy and formulate a schedule.Rather than hiring a copywriter and dumping all the work on them, use the Fiverr marketplace to research a variety of content roles to maximize your output. Here are the most important content marketing roles to consider:

Content Manager

This position solidifies your overall content execution and ideation across multiple channels. For instance, if you know that you need to launch a blog, a content manager can help you determine the amount of content to produce, what each assignment should cover, what the deadlines are, and when it will be published on your site. They can also recruit and manage your writing and editing team.

Content Strategist

Similar to a content manager, this role executes the overall objectives for each piece of content to maximize its total value. For example, if you have 3 blog posts about Black Friday, the strategist can determine the best time (seasonally) to post them, which channels to push them on outside of the blog, and how to recycle them into other types of content to maximize value.

This encompasses a wide range of talents, but primarily, you need at least one solid writer to turn all of your ideas into reality. A writer on your content marketing team might specialize in...

  • Blog/article writing : producing quick editorials and listicles to generate regular engagement
  • Web copywriting : creating copy for landing pages, pillar pages, and product descriptions
  • Email marketing writer : crafting newsletters and email campaigns for funnel conversions, new subscriptions, and lead generation
  • PR writer : writing press releases to form relationships and establish syndication partnerships with other brands and publishers
  • Technical writer : filling out technical specifications, procedures, or legal jargon to produce authoritative, well-researched resources

Once the copy is written, it never hurts to have a fresh, professional set of eyes review it and fix any errors. The same rules apply for other content assets like photo or video. Just to be safe, hiring these types of roles can save you a lot of headaches down the line...

  • Copy editor : focuses on written words to ensure brand reputation and guidelines, as well as rectifying any misinformation to ensure legal compliance
  • Photo editor : fixes or retakes any product photos or social media and landing page photos to maintain brand reputation and overall aesthetic value across all channels
  • Video editor : captures footage and edits the material for use on a variety of marketing channels (website, social media, webinars, Q&As, etc.)

Branding Specialist

In essence, any Fiverr freelancer you hire should be a branding specialist , but a dedicated one goes through all the content being produced to double-check that everything is representative of your brand. This means that logo placements are optimized, the right font style is used, the right tone of voice is communicated, and the right personas are targeted according to certain channels.

Social Media Manager

Companies struggle with social media management on the regular, but with a social media manager, you can rest assured that all the content for your social channels is taken care of under one roof. This role should set up a posting schedule for you with the latest automation tools, as well as writing compelling captions for each post and diversifying content methods with multiple social media features according to each platform.

Graphic Designer

Even for blog posts, social media, and general marketing efforts, you need a graphic designer to craft your ideas and implement a digital style to your brand for online and print services. A good graphic designer should be knowledgeable in applications like Photoshop, Premier, and InDesign, among other top graphic designer tools.

Choosing the Right Fiverr Freelancers

Now that you know what roles to fill, your next step is to visit the Fiverr site and choose the right freelancers for your brand.Keep in mind, freelancers create gig packages to market their skills and services to clients, so make sure to read each gig carefully and compare prices with your budget to see how many different roles you can hire out. If you see a gig that looks compelling and offers you a fair package of deliverables, feel free to engage that freelancer in a conversation to get an idea of their workflow and if it matches with your needs.Fiverr freelancers are easy to work with, so never hesitate to discuss a custom request. Most freelancers are more than happy to put together a custom gig for you.

Building a Strong Foundation and Implementing a Strategy

With the right team in place, your next step is to build a strong foundation of cohesive content with clearly defined goals and milestones.Basically, you can't just tell everyone to do their own thing and wait for the results to come in. Instead, leverage your content manager 's skills to ideate a full content schedule with titles and objectives for each piece. Based on your budget, you can decide how many articles, social media posts, landing pages, or emails you want to send out. If that number is 30 pieces each month, your content manager can plan accordingly, and then your content strategist can deploy the assignments to the right people with corresponding deadlines. Then all you have to do is wait for the material to come in, hand it off to the right editors for copy, photo, or video, then give that content to your social media manager to post on social or your content manager to approve and post on your site.Every month, you should reevaluate what aspects of the content marketing strategy worked and what could be improved on for the next month. Either way, your ultimate objective is that you produce the pieces you plan for and stay within budget, so if any of those parameters are out of whack, readjust for the future.

Promoting Your Content

Now that the content is written, edited, SEO-optimized and published, it's time to start promoting it.To gain the best engagement from your new content marketing strategy, you'll want to explore a few pathways...

Organic Search and Social

An organic approach means non-paid strategies to boost your content's engagement and interaction. For example, if you just published a blog post, your first step should be to craft a bite-size version of it for social media channels and post it with a URL that links to your site's data analytics. After that, revamp the blog into a newsletter campaign and send it out to segmented email lists who might find value in the topic. Once that runs dry, make it a policy for all staff members to post the blog on their LinkedIn or Facebook pages to increase organic traffic.Anything you can do to create buzz on your own helps lay a base of traffic that you can capitalize on with paid campaigns in the future.

Paid media (online promotions and advertisements) can be done on numerous social platforms and ecommerce sites. With heavy-hitters like Facebook and Instagram, you can easily run paid ads to targeted demographics that each platform sets up for you. Plus, they establish how much engagement you'll earn according to how much money you want to spend. With sites like Amazon, you can run paid promotions for a certain product to boost its page ranking, and that formula is pretty straightforward through their platform. With that in mind, you still have to add some strategy to gain the best results from paid ads and choosing which pieces of content to promote. As a basic guide, choosing seasonal content that's time-based or event-based is a great way to start. If NFL season is fast-approaching, write a blog post about how your brand interacts with the festivities and why customers should get involved. Next, post it on Facebook and run a paid ad behind it to ensure that the largest group of people engage with it.

Regularly Measure Success

Finally, you have to do regular check-ins with your content marketing team to measure everyone's success.Whether it's through Google Analytics or your isolated reports from social media profiles and your website, regularly sit down with your staff to investigate the return of your team's efforts. If you notice that your bounce rate on separate blog posts is high or no one is opening your emails, it may be time to reevaluate your strategy and execution to identify the problem.

Fiverr Makes Content Marketing Easy

How to make money on Fiverr, according to 5 freelance writers

  • Fiverr is an online marketplace where freelancers can connect with clients.
  • Five writers described how they got started on Fiverr with no experience.
  • They detailed their strategies for promoting their work and securing clients.

Insider Today

Freelance writers can make money on Fiverr in numerous ways, such as writing short Amazon product descriptions or ghostwriting entire memoirs.

On their Fiverr profiles they showcase their "gigs" — the writing services they offer — and their rates. Prospective clients can book them for a job through the site.

Insider spoke with five freelance writers about how they use the platform to connect with clients. They described how they made up to $101,000 a month on the platform.

Rafael Meneses offered clients unlimited revisions and refunds

Meneses , 32, started freelance copywriting on Fiverr in 2019 to make some extra money alongside his university job. By April 2021 he found he was making more than his regular salary through Fiverr.

He looked at other copywriters' profiles to figure out how to differentiate himself. He said that to land clients as a new freelancer, he offered unlimited revisions and a money-back guarantee. He also said his first gig was still his most popular.

Alexa Nizam brought her personality to her Fiverr profile

Nizam set up an account to try out freelance copywriting on weekends and in the evenings alongside her video-production job in 2020. But she struggled to book any clients for months.

After watching a TikTok from another Fiverr seller, Alexandra Fasulo , she decided to use her photos in her gig images and described herself and what she offered in her bio section. She also set her prices low and took any job she could.

Within two weeks she'd landed her first clients. In March 2021, she made $8,000 from freelancing. The following month she quit her job to pursue copywriting full time.

Gaurav Shrishrimal showcased his portfolio on his Fiverr profile

Shrishrimal wrote Amazon product descriptions as a side hustle while working on his e-commerce business. He said he made $20,000 in revenue on Fiverr last year working two hours a day.

The 37-year-old used Fiverr to showcase his work, such as copy he'd written, and described his approach so clients would know what to expect.

Georgia Austin used keywords to improve her profile's SEO

Austin shared five strategies for building a profile on Fiverr and securing clients.

She decided to freelance on Fiverr after working full time as a copywriter for brands such as Sweaty Betty , a women's activewear store, and Nike.

The 26-year-old made her profile stand out by using professional headshots. She researched keywords to tag in her Fiverr gigs and to include in her title and description so they'd appear more frequently in client searches.

Austin made up to $27,000 a month in revenue working on her own, but she hired freelancers to help her meet client demand in 2021. They made $101,300, including tips from clients, in revenue in May 2022.

Read more: I made 6 figures in a month on Fiverr working with a team of 150 freelance copywriters to meet client demand. Here's how I scaled my business.

Billy McIntyre charged clients low rates for 3 years

McIntyre joined Fiverr in 2015 while working at an e-commerce warehouse. He used it to write pitches for brands, then he started ghostwriting memoirs, articles, and novels the following year.

McIntyre landed customers by charging $0.02 a word for his first three years on the platform and saying yes to any gig he was offered.

By 2018 he'd made ghostwriting his main gig and charged $3,000 to write 10,000 words.

Read more: I make around $14,000 a month ghostwriting on Fiverr and work around 5 hours a day. Here's how I landed gigs and built up a clientele.

OpenAI says it’s taking a ‘deliberate approach’ to releasing tools that can detect writing from ChatGPT

OpenAI has built a tool that could potentially catch students who cheat by asking ChatGPT to write their assignments — but according to The Wall Street Journal , the company is debating whether to actually release it.

In a statement provided to TechCrunch, an OpenAI spokesperson confirmed that the company is researching the text watermarking method described in the Journal’s story, but said it’s taking a “deliberate approach” due to “the complexities involved and its likely impact on the broader ecosystem beyond OpenAI.”

“The text watermarking method we’re developing is technically promising, but has important risks we’re weighing while we research alternatives, including susceptibility to circumvention by bad actors and the potential to disproportionately impact groups like non-English speakers,” the spokesperson said.

This would be a different approach from most previous efforts to detect AI-generated text, which have been largely ineffective . Even OpenAI itself shut down its previous AI text detector last year due to its “low rate of accuracy.”

With text watermarking, OpenAI would focus solely on detecting writing from ChatGPT, not from other companies’ models. It would do so by making small changes to how ChatGPT selects words, essentially creating an invisible watermark in the writing that could later be detected by a separate tool.

Following the publication of the Journal’s story, OpenAI also updated a May blog post about its research around detecting AI-generated content. The update says text watermarking has proven “highly accurate and even effective against localized tampering, such as paraphrasing,” but has proven “less robust against globalized tampering; like using translation systems, rewording with another generative model, or asking the model to insert a special character in between every word and then deleting that character.”

As a result, OpenAI writes that this method is “trivial to circumvention by bad actors.” OpenAI’s update also echoes the spokesperson’s point about non-English speakers, writing that text watermarking could “stigmatize use of AI as a useful writing tool for non-native English speakers.”
